I had the 1980 280ZX, silver with blue interior. I loved that car!!!! I had also owned a 1979 280ZX until my brother took it for a drive and it ended up in two pieces.
This thing is absolutely pristine! Glad to know it will be enjoyed as intended. The power mirror actuating the wrong mirror is actually a wiring cost cutting measure! the RHD version of these cars had the same power mirror placement, which would have been the passenger side.
I owned this identical car gave it to my sons as their first car...it was a great car ..we all loved it and Miss it very much . Ours was the same exterior color with gray interior value seats ..
I love love LOVE your car. My first car was a gold 1979 Datsun 280ZX. It was the base model, like yours. Hub caps, crank windows, non digital clock... It's your car. I can't tell you what to do but PLEASE keep it original!!
I have you beat, mine is under 50,000. It's an 83 and slightly worse exterior condition but the interior is nearly perfect. Perfect dash as well. I wish mine didn't have T-tops, they don't leak but it's just another thing to go wrong. Once I get my struts replaced and get the car to talk to me again it'll be about perfect. Though mine has the pain in the ass auto climate control and A/C, which the A/C surprisingly works great but the heat is either all or nothing. I think the vacuum hoses need replaced, must be a leak somewhere. I rebuilt the cassette player as one of the first things I did, the very first was pushing it out of its grave and getting the clutch unstuck off the transmission. Just started it in gear, held the clutch pedal and slammed the brakes until I felt the clutch pedal actually work. A alarm system/remote lock was installed a few months before I was born, found the paperwork under the drivers seat. Overall it's a super fun car, I just did a complete tune up on it and it certainly gave it a big acceleration boost. Thing at low RPM actually responds really well now.
Had an 82 280zx for 15 years. Slowly restored it over the years just to have some jackass make an illegal turn and into my lane and hit the breaks. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned after saying I would never buy Japanese. Hopefully I'll have another in the future
nice, i also own a '79 280zx. i noticed tha you have a datsun 280zx by nissan tag on the back, which did not come stock whihc is crazy because i did the same to mine
One of the best cars ever built seriously
I really love my 83. Every Datsun Z is unique at this point no two cars are the same. These cars are awesome!
They certainly are!
