have u ever noticed that the plastic on the booster boxes are getting wrinkles if the room temprature is very hot? i dont have aircondition and my room can easly get 30-35 C+ - 86-95 Fahrenheit. one of my boxes look 70 years old, and used to look 20 with no wrinkles
I've definitely noticed that, I have a theory that that plastic wrap actually has some level of shrink wrapping build into it, so the heat might cause it to shrink and warp or deform in some capacity.
First of all thank you so much! Video was very helpful. I do have two questions though: 1. I was wondering if you happen to have either the exact measurements of the containers, or alternatively a link to order them online? (Basically anything that would help me find them haha) 2. What would you say is highest temperature that's "healthy" for booster boxes and wouldn't damage them?
While the sterilite containers are definitely cheaper Target has these $10 plastic food storage containers that can hold Elite Trainer boxes I think and they are very clear and not kind of opaque like the sterlite so it's really good for display.I don't personally use any protection for my items as I have them on a shelf and they're all under like $150 so I don't believe it's worth paying $10 per box but if I had $1,000 booster box I would buy one
Do you have advice for all the other promo boxes such as the Celebrations Dragapult and Zacian Lv X boxes? Most people I see use bubble wrap. I was thinking of cling wrap but I'm afraid that the wrapping will peel off the paint in the future. Anyone with advice?
I would avoid cling wrap, some lower quality ones can leech or have small amounts of chemicals from production that can react with the paint/ink on boxes. In general, I'd either store them in large cardboard boxes, and if you'd care to be that serious, get some bubble wrapping and gift tissue paper on the box to protect it from general wear and tear. In all honesty, most modern boxes likely don't need this level of protection unless you're planning on having these for the long term.
Is it safe to put an acrylic case wrapped in bubble wrap inside a box for long term storage? Do I need silica gel for humidity? Or will the magnetic acrylic case keep humidity out?
Great question, I don't believe that the acrylic creates good enough a seal for the humidity to be kept out. I would recommend that you keep it in a dry, cool place. And if humidity is a concern, use either a machine or a product to dehumidify. I would also recommend a moderate amount of ventilation.
I know there are some sleeves out there that are made out of clear plastic, very similar to ones for PSA graded cards, you might want to look into those. They should be almost custom fit, and should probably still look good on this play. They will also keep the packs safe, as well as the cardboard.
So they do have some that are more custom fitted for Japanese boxes (acrylic, usually custom). If you were looking for something more low end, Target and Home Depot sell a lot of containers that are more simple/cheaper, and they often fit boxes perfectly/near-perfectly. I would get the measurements of a box that you want to store, and then check the websites if you're in the states to see what is in stock and meets your needs.
“WooooooW” I have to find those semi rigids. I have 2 acrylic cases. Amazing looking but the pricing is kind if insane unless I buy a ton at once I wonder if they make the semi rigid containers for all the various Japanese Booster box sizes. Where do you get your acrylic cases from?? Havent seen one with those feet before
Hey Evan, the one's that I /TCA/ a bunch of others use are the Sterlite Flip Top that measures (all inches) 7 5/8 L x 6 1/2 W x 4 1/2 H. The container is #1803, and is clear, but you can get any color assuming you can find them. As I think I note in the video, they are usually found in restocks at Home Depot in the storage section.
Cool and dry are the best conditions, so you'll want to be mindful of relative humidity. The lower the better, and there are a variety of ways to manage humidity, from machines that will remove moisture from the air, or more simple dehumidifying items that are sold for closets, etc.
LMAO, I got super lucky and was able to pick it up, but it certainly wasn't cheap. Ironically enough all of my other boxes I picked up four way last. One day I will do a video showing my collection! I just have to get everything from the various locations they're stored at.
Great effn video!!! Thank you! And updates or new ideas? Jc. I have a ton of product I want to store long term

I actually did a video on those food containers a little while back. They are pretty good for the price and fit.

@@TheAnalyticGengar Yes I do plan to hold them for many years. A decade maybe. The main goal is to open them with my future children :)

I'm looking for a way to store/protect the Chilling Reign compensation blister pack. Can't find anything. Any ideas?
Kind of wanted it to look good on display if possible

Do you have any container recommendations for Japanese booster boxes?
I tried these and they only fit my English boxes.

What about humidity when storing these long term? Or if u have a sealed booster case and want to keep it in perfect condition?

Is 75 degrees with 55% humidity a safe range?
I live in texas where it's really hot and humid. My collection room stays around 75 with 51 to 55% humidity
There’s no way you have an ex dragon booster box howew
