Thanks for another entertaining Tony Tuesday. I really liked the look up segment, pardon the pun but it hit a chord with me. I used to race in triathlon and in 2002 I entered my biggest race ever the St. Anthony's triathlon in St. Petersburg FL. It's an olympic distance race 1.5 K swim, 40K bike and a 10K run. I was standing at the waters edge with a friend getting ready for our wave to depart in about 15 minutes. We were both pretty anxious about the race because it was windy and the bay was really choppy. We heard some laughter and looked up to see two young ladies also getting ready to start. They were laughing and didn't appear to have a care in the world. They were just excited to get the race started, it was then we realized one of the ladies only had 1 arm and the other only had 1 leg. We were humbled by their attitudes and motivated to get going. Their wave went 5 minutes before ours. I looked for them the entire race thinking If they can do it so can I. I had a goal of finishing in under 3 hours and did it, granted it wasn't much under 3 hours but 2:59:08 still was good for me. If I hadn't looked up I may not have even finsihed the race much less meeting my goal. So by all means look up you never know where motivation and inspiration will be found. Be Nice & Play Guitar.

Tony! You summed up the Summit perfectly! Meeting you was a highlight for me. Thanks again for giving up your front row seat for me at the Sierra Hull workshop. What a gentleman! Hope to see you again at another guitar geek event.

Tony, my twin brother and I met and spoke with you briefly after one of your loyal subscribers introduced us. Great review and very much agree that this was a great event! I was excited that the FB Summit was coming to Chicago in 2020 and thank goodness it happened two later after the pandemic led to its cancellation. Love the FJ and their great online content and podcasts. The best money I have spent on any guitar geek publication in my 65 years, and there have been many!

Great episode. Love seeing you out in the field enjoying events that let luthiers' work shine. I hope you'll do more episodes like this. Get out there and show us the glorious world of guitars!

Tony, thank you for your kind words about the school, Chris Walz and the Fretboard Summit. Your big takeaway is the thing we want everyone to leave any event or class or workshop at Old Town School. We were so glad to have you back home at OTS and I hope that we'll see you in 2023.

I took a few classes with Chris Walz, he truly is a great teacher. The Molly Tuttle show was just as good as you describe it.

Tony, hoping to finally meet you at this year's Summit. And REALLY hoping you might want to do an Acoustic Tuesday segment on the Blue Guitars.

This week's show was fantastic Tony. Not just the content, but the fact that most of the time was spent on a single subject. To me, that's what made the show! BTW, I'm lovin' FW2, thanks to you and team TAC for doing all that work to put it together - big thumbs up!

Tony, I always enjoy your Acoustic Tuesday videos but today’s was extra special. Your coverage/review of the Fretboard Summit was great. I particularly appreciated your words about “picking your head up”. It is so easy to miss the wealth of knowledge and beauty that is around us - within the context of our guitar playing and music, but also in all aspects of our lives. A very wise lesson for all of us. It seems like such simple advice, but often missed. Thank you.

Awesome recap of the Summit, Tony! It was great to meet you and really get a chance to immerse myself in this wonderful world and community to which we all belong.
And to expand on your impression of Julian Lage; for me, someone who is just beginning their career in lutherie, to see an artist of Julian’s caliber melt into his craft, become one with the instrument and surrender to his music, the experience really reaffirmed why we do what it is we do.
I cannot wait for the next one! Cheers!

Man, I wish I was farther along on my guitar journey. I’m still just plugging along, hitting wall after wall. I’m three years in and can’t play anything. I did put my guitar away for almost two years because I didn’t see the progress I was hoping for. I’m regretting that. Where would I be today, had I not given up?! I’m now back into a regular practice routine. Thanks for the new Fretboard Wizard course, by the way! I just started it last night and will dive into it again tonight. I did the original course, but found myself forgetting a lot after moving on to other things. So I’m thankful for this refresh. Hopefully it’ll stick this time. Still waiting for that lightbulb moment… something to click and get me more motivated. Anyway, you da man! I’m going to stick with you. You will be the light that shows me the way. I feel it in my bones!

Wait til you get to week 3 of the FW2 course, if that doesn't give you lightbulb moments, I'll eat my hat!

Stutman was an inspiration for me! He’s the one that sent me to Sergei de Jonge to learn to build acoustics, a dozen years ago. I’ve purchased instruments from Mark and had a 1920’s Martin tenor banjo repaired by him. I also had the foresight to buy ALL the Fret Board Journals he had, back in 2012-13. I have a full set, plus many early issue doubles! #1 is worth a small fortune now!
    Peace

I'm only 2 minutes in, but good job on addressing the spam/bot comments. They're becoming more common across You Tube, so stay vigilant. Another note on them: If they're asking you to click on a link, DON'T!

One of the better focused shows of late. Great for you to run into Adam B of Iris. He's made me an OGe with a neck I can play and he's doing an ABe with a slight twist or two. I can really sing with his guitars and the folks I sing for love looking at his guitars. I would like you to introduce me to Molly Tuttle. I bet that would start a great conversation. I can relate to some of her life story and I bet there's more in common than you think. Thanks

Fretboard Summit was such an incredible event. Wasn't sure what to expect but I can say it exceeded any expectations I may have even thought I had. Kudo's to Old Town School and Fretboard Journal and can't wait till next time, Oh - and it was good to see you too Tony. LOL
