Keep an eye out for Crysis Next (sadly a BR) but at least it means the series is still alive. Wish Crysis Next was a continuation of the story. Also keep an eye out for Crysis VR, and also Crysis 2 remastered. The hacker group leaked those upcoming titles from CryNet. But no idea how CryNet is approaching this now considering they took a bit of a hit.

The ending confused you because the ending of Crysis 3 is a reference to the the first Crysis in fact the house and the beach where Prophet was in the end is a part of a level from the first game.Don't know if that clears it up for you
