So great to see and hear the phoenix story of the Flying Eagle. There are a few iconic vans and this is one of them. I was just a kid when I saw a couple of photos in the Hot Rod magazine in 1976, a rear 3/4 shot, with the shaved drip rail and dark purple paint job. It made such an impression on me. Very clean, great lines. I believe it must have influenced the designers of the Chevrolet Astro/GMC Safari van, too. Greg Cooper is right, it deserves to go into a museum to preserve it. Thank you to jjlighting for preserving van history and folklore with your videos.
Hi Greg.... I am very happy to see the Flying Eagle II still flying. I used to sleep on the bed in the back of that rig when I was a wee lad traveling to various "Truckins". Great work restoring it. My father would be proud to know it's still truckin along. All the best, Greg Jr.
Cargo vans are so versatile, you can make some really cool conversions. The possibilities are endless. I’m a millennial and I think vanning is cool. It’s nice to see it still alive and well, albeit not as common as it once was. Very interesting story by the way. Unique what they did to the back of this van, especially the small rear door...never in my life have I seen anything like that before.
Very Nice Interior Design is Very Nautical Feeling love it the Paint is Classic 1970s busy paint job but it's Very Nice through and Through.it says Let's Take a Road trip more like a Journey 👍
Awesome job at preserving the van and keeping this part of Americana alive i had the same year and model as a work van it was ugly baby blue a cheap respray from factory white but a reliable runner with the 6 and 3 on the tree Basic van no options
I really love this van. I'd love to take it on a road trip. I would love to talk to you someday. You did a beautiful job restoring a van, and a moment in time. This van is Sex E.
Awesome Van Brother!! Great story also!! I had a "76". The motor end up blowing up on me. I couldn't afford to put another one in. So I stole it the guy in the mountain for a storage shed
I swear I saw this van running down the road in primer, that back door is too distinctive to be a different van. This would have been in the mid-90's. I just finished High School and bought an A-100 I found for sale dirt cheap. Got hooked right away and started noticing every van I saw.

Agreed its a work of art...
So cool! What do the brass lamps and barometer look like?
Great job on engine compartment! Very clean, but don't see any heat or air plumbing. Hidden or not at all?
😉😉😉😉
Cool but I think getting pulled over by the PD everyday would get old.
how did the fire start?
The interiors was made in the year 1980s.
or part of the lemay collection
A VAN CUSTOM LOOKS BETTER WITH spoilers and wide tires ahead and back van conversion too. With 50 tires and wide wheels.
I know exactly what he means about his van🤔
