- Christmas for me is all about traditions. It was important for me when I first started "keeping house' to give my family traditions that hopefully they look back on fondly. Hoping that all of you have joy in all that you do.

WOW! This is amazing! I can't imagine how long this took to set up. I love how the entire home was decorated and seemed full yet it does not feel cluttered or thrown together. Every item looks so lovingly placed. Not to mention the collection of brown skinned figurines. I know that took years to accomplish because those are rare, comparatively, and they sell out fast too which really makes this spectacular!

On a Frugalnista watching marathon! I had those villages; I collected those for years. I lost most of it in a fire; the few I was able to save got ruined in the storage facility (((sigh))) such as life. I'm loving every minute of this during the Summer ;-)

Thanks so much for revisiting my Christmas video. Talk about a tad bit overboard RIGHT?! OMYGOODNESS get her a little tree for her own, she will LOVE decorating it each year that goes by. They grow up so fast so we have to keep them young as long as we can.

OMG_ I love your dining table and table scape!!! :) We love the same types of colors and decor....I'm all about the jewel tones with gold or silver accents in our home. Must be a southern thing-Lol. Where do you store all of your Christmas trees and other holiday items? Do you have attics or maybe a storage shed?
arwen944 We have an unfinished basement that was suppose to be my husband domain...BUT us ladies took over that space also. So I store everything down there.

This is like a ministry. You know that, don't you? God is using you in so many ways. This gave me hope to look forward to Christmas in a very depressing time. I will overcome. Under the tree in the piano room there are these glowing blob type lights in that village. What is that?
The "globe type lights" are actually a string of Christmas tree lights that I run through out the village to light the houses. The exposed lights are covered with cotton snow which give the appearance of that "globe". The cotton snow also covers up the exposed wire. I know first hand how the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season can be a depressing time. I pray that this years season be a time of joy for you and yours. I have another question ....it's about the tree with the train and Cobblestone Village, I can see that it is lit up but how? Are the lights underneath and if so aren't you afraid they will catch fire? I really like how this is done so really want to know how to get the look. Thanks for your help ♥ judy

I wanted to ask you a question about the village under the tree. Do the houses light up ( like Dickens village) or do you have a strand of lights under the "snow"? It's so beautiful. judithapoulos It's almost time, if you are looking for Christmas items I would take a stroll on the inside first. Places like Michaels sometimes try and clear out using the $2 grab bags so if you still see the grab bags in the stores and they are plentiful?...they will be tossing them any day now. Same goes for Home Goods, Marshalls and TJ MAXX take a peek inside and if they still have TONS of holiday décor on the shelves they will be clearing out shelves soon. Thank you so much for watching!

Thank you Moz, not personal at all actually a great testament to share. We were challenge to have a child to start with then to find out that I was pregnant at 40. I am proof that God is still in charge and there is nothing we can do about it. I will share in a video soon. Until then I pray that my Father in Heaven grant you and your husband the desires of your heart.

Why do stores throw things away? And is it ok to look in a dumpster? And don't they call the police?
+Debbie Bell Debbie it's all about the bottom line and it's just cheaper to throw it away. Sad but true most stores don't want the liability and sending it back the "warehouse" like most stores tell you that they do is a lie from the pit. Where I live it's legal as long as you aren't trespassing. I have been doing this over a year now and I have NEVER had any encounters with a police. If you are doing this correctly it takes seconds to look in and pick up so getting caught doing something that is legal really isn't an issue. Thanks for watching!

No permission is needed in my area once a store throws an item away. I have found so many items (some new never used) that shouldn't be in the trash in the first place. TFW!

zaragoza zaragoza In my area its legal so no permission is needed to access what stores throw away. You might even find that by asking the stores they would more than likely say no and even destroy the items before throwing them out. Thanks for watching!

Items that I have rescued from retailer's trash.
How do you get stuff for free?
I started going to the back of some of my favorite retailers and peeking in their trash. YEP trash, they toss out tons of useable (sometimes NEW) merchandise all of the time. Appreciate you watching Lisa!

FRUGALNISTA I thought that might be the case but wasn't sure. I don't know if it's legal here or not but I will have to look into it. I work retail, and my company doesn't put anything into the trash that can be donated. I would love to check out other companies that may not do this and see what I could find too. You really do a great job with the goodies you present on video. You keep me watching. I love decorating for Christmas too, but I don't have as tall trees as you. YET. LOL
