    Very informative. Liked the way you straightened out the wire and cut groves in the board to position and hold posts and rails thank you

    Just watched your video today and it was very good. While I have heard of using Tule for chain link fencing, your technique for straightening the wire and the jig were a great idea.

    Great idea - I've just ordered a role of silver/grey from Amazon for £2.50p and it should be with me in 2 days. I'm gonna start doing the poles ahead of time. Thanks.

    I think an airbrush would be better for painting as you can control the amount of paint dispersed to the object. An airbrush is even finer mist than an aerosol can. Cheers from eastern TN

      I've been wanting to get an air bush setup, but I've never done it and to be honest it makes me a bit nervous. Thanks for watching-Ed

    Nice wire straightening technique. Another method is to roll the wire between two bits of wood, MDF works best.

    Very similar to Luke Towan of Boulder Creek Railroad's version posted a few years earlier.

    • @EagleValleyModelRailroad
      @EagleValleyModelRailroad  6 років тому +1

      Nick Hale , the basic idea of the fence was inspired by Luke. I chose to share how I straighten common electrical conductor to use as the posts as well as using a jig to hold the frame work in place. Same concept different execution. Thanks for watching.-Ed

    What brand of fabric Tull is this ? Where can you get it ? I have a whole steel mill in need of fencing.

    • @EagleValleyModelRailroad
      @EagleValleyModelRailroad  2 роки тому

      I dont have the original packaging, but I got mine from Micheals Craft store. Any craft, fabric, or hobby store should have a good selection of tulle. It also comes in a variety of colors. Thanks for watching-Ed

    Great video! I like how you made a template to keep everything consistent - and fast! One thing I wonder about - why do you put the straight edge on the bottom? I consider that the "good" (straight) edge and put it on the top. That way if I mess up the trim on bottom side, it gets lost in the groundcover anyway, so no big deal. The top is always even, and that's the part that everyone sees. Jess wonnerin'... PS - liked and subscribed!

      Thanks for watching, great point about cutting the mesh. Not sure I realized I did that on the video until now, I typically place the good edge on the top, for that exact reason. Thanks for the Like and Sub.-Ed

      Thanks for the quick response, Ed. Do you have any tips or videos on making gates? They can be kind of tricky to build. SPGhost

      Not as of yet, but I plan on doing a few of them in different areas of the layout. I plan on doing a How I on those as well. I would like for them to be hands free operational. We will see.

    OK.... This old fart has got to admit, that is damn good!!! Better than any commercially available chain link fence I've ever seen!
    Just one thing, I'm 53 years old, and I've NEVER heard of Tul...Tool...Tule!!!! What is it, and hwere can I find some? I am really impressed. Just subbed.

      Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub. The most popular use for tulle is wedding veils. I got my roll from Michaels craft store for about $7. Any fabric store should have it in a variety of colors......Ed.

    This guy is a real smart! Amazing video. Sir if you use MULTICORE SOLDER it is self fluxing, may save you some time? What is that mesh you use please? I dont think we have that in the UK? Thanks for sharing

    • @EagleValleyModelRailroad
      @EagleValleyModelRailroad  6 років тому

      Thanks for watching, I'll have to try the multicore flux next time. Thanks for the tip. Its called Tulle and its a fabric that is used mainly for dresses, I found it at a local fabric store. I'm sure this is something you guys would have. If not I'll ship you a roll. It was only about $8 US. - Ed

      Tulle is wedding veil. Comes in different grades with holes being different sizes. I think Wedding Veil is the finest grades and dance tulle used in dance costumes and things like that being larger holed. You need to choose the grade depending on your scale. Its prounced ‘tew-ul’
