I know quite well both v12v and v12vs. Somehow the v12v, with the dual "Ford ECU" know as Spanish oak, instead of the bosch used on the v12vs (that needs to be more tight on emissions - to comply with later emissions regulation ) , feels more alive, with more immediate throttle response (as if it had more torque). It's more "animal" or " visceral" than the v12vs, although the clock would say it's not. I believe the instantaneous power delivery on the v12vs as being cut on behalf of emissions. V12v has just a more aggressive feeling on throttle, it's a more raw car or should I say, it feels more like a serious driver's machine. I can imagine how it would feel after 7.5k power upgrade from Mike's company: that's how the v12v should have been from the beginning, a proper 6 gear manual v12 with near 600 hp. Pure joy of driving and it will drive as good as the driver can perform. Don't get me wrong, the v12vs it's awesome, but it can't match the previous car in terms of raw automotive satisfaction experience. Besides, 7 gear are two many for a car with such a torque. One cannot enjoy each gear properly without having to change it too often. I hope my thoughts add to Mike's explanation.

I’ve really been enjoying your channel and have learned a lot. I have a lot of racing history with the V8 and have won two championships in Asia in them, in 09 and 11.
But I’m considering this actual V12 question right now. Not many of these in Australia, but they come up now and then. I’ve reviewed the earlier V12 manual for my UA-cam channel @ InCARnation Australia and have been leaning that way to purchase. However the info you’ve given me on the later V12S paddle shift has changed my mind, I’ve not driven one but you’ve answered the questions I have re the box. Incidentally we of course ran the paddle shift in our V8 race cars and they were faultless for three season.
    Cheers

The 7 speed dog leg manual, available in the V12s takes some concentration at first, as BamfordRose say but after a few hundred miles it becomes second nature.

Got two V12 s manuals 7 speed and it’s not complicated at all. Get through first and the rest is the same as any other manual car. You can even take off in 2nd if you want

Would say £70k for a V12V is on the high side, 60-65k seems to be where they are selling. I think a V12V with your suspension kit would be a great compromise. Re performance differences, I don’t think the V12V is lacking!

£60-65k are getting harder to find now unless with some extra miles on them.

Funny how what is old is new again with regards to weight transfer to aid rear wheel traction.
The Pontiac GTO had a noticeable tail “sag” in the first few years. Likewise a good old Triumph TR6 squats in the rear under a spirited launch.

Just saw your video. Have a V12 Roadster which as you say is a rare beast. Mines done 14000kms and good spec, Skyfall Silver with the black pac. Agree that this is one to hold onto. Also have V12SM halo pac and do love the seven speed as you learn the gearbox over time. Looking at getting another😎Also have a manual GT8 which complements these other cars and that 6 speed I find different to the V12. Is there a difference. Agree with jumping into V12S with the sportshift as this would provide the buyer of a V12 a better experience. Great video 👍🏻

V12V Roadster is the best car I have in the garage. Big price point but a real joy to drive. Suspension is better than on the Vantage Coupe without jeopardizing roll.

I’m summary, it feels this video is questioning whether the manual 6 speed is the one that will be desirable in the future over ss3. If not, the v12s is the better car to jump into

So based on everything I like the older V12 Vantage with the 6 speed. But in the video you mentioned that both cars have the same maintenance/reliability. I just don’t know what that is like for the V12 engines, what is the maintenance/reliability on a V12 Vantage?

Trouble is, when you improve these things, it’s great in period, but then you want them back as they were once they truly get collectible and you’re struggling to find the parts 😅 I am however, currently, more than £80,000 away from that dilemma 🥲🙃
