Just found this channel. And it took me back to my hilux I had. It was a 93 with a 2.4l petrol motor and it used to rip! I always wanted to turn it into a drift truck. In the end I just lowered it and sold it because of rust. But I always said I’d buy another.
So did you use the stock carb? I have a 1976 toyota corona and I'm looking into doing something like this,I have a Weber 32/36 and I don't want tons of power but mild.. But wondering if I have to make the carb a blow thru or can I use it just as is? Thanks.. Nice build
Cheers Eric! Not too sure about the Webber carbs but from experience you should be sweet with anything around 7psi! Anything more and you’ll have to mod the carb.

Im running an ebay turbo on my 3rz hilux. Didnt have an intercooler at first and fitting one was a bit of a bitch cus i had to cut the bumper and cut holes through the body for the piping

These engines are built like brick shithouses, we've got a '94 Hilux (4th Gen though as they carried on production till 97 in SA) with a 22R and it's done around 1.5mill km's and has never been opened 👀 though the tappets are getting noisy and it is starting to develop a miss 😂 still running the soft leaded fuel valves as well

We re-jetted the carb for more fuel but we didn't need to modify it for boost at all

It's the stock intake from the carby that came with the 22r. I just cut it to work with the turbo :)
