To Glaze or not to Glaze in Wood-fired Ceramics

The benefits of glazing or leaving pieces unglazed for the natural ash glaze effect in wood-firing are discussed. Slips and stains are also discussed. Examples of shino glazes, temoku glazes, flashing shino slip and stains are also shown. A few other special techniques are presented.
