Evolution of Mike Pollock as Dr. Eggman - 20th Eggmanniversary
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- This video covers each and every Mike Pollock Eggman performance year by year in all forms of media in games, TV shows, apps, and promo videos, and more. I made this as a tribute to the years of talent, life, charm, humor, and entertainment Mike Pollock has brought to the character!
This month marked the 20th anniversary for his debut role as Eggman in Sonic X, the first sneak peek preview aired on August 23rd 2003. In 2005, he was brought to the game cast and has since been the one actor of that cast to stay even during a game recast and hold his role there for the longest. And for good reason, he brings great talent to the character that cannot be replaced!
His work is greatly admired and appreciated by us all! Looking forward to hearing more from him, likely as soon as the final Frontiers update next month!

Mike is one of the few Sonic voice actors that was good from his start.
Deem Bristow was a great Eggman, but there's something about Mike Pollock that feels more iconic than him. He brings Eggman's cunning nature and goofy persona to life.
Mike Pollock is a great Eggman but he has never overcome the impression Deem Bristow left on me. That man embodied the sadistic creep factor of classic Eggman.
It's a performance that still hits hard, even with the graphics of the time. The only time Pollock comes close to it is in 06. And we both know how that turned out.
@@fictiontheorizer4253 I don't know. Mike Pollock in 06 sounded kinda monotoned and lacked personality.
@@xgaming2427 He's not goofy and over the top.
You can put energy into your performances and come across as menacing, but the writing hasn't done that particularly well for Eggman in a LOOONG time.
Deem Bristow unfortunately didn't live enough to voice Eggman long. The longevity of Mike Pollock voicing Eggman has made him a legend.
I miss Jim Cummings as Robotnik from SatAm. But that Robotnik is by far not goofy and clowny as Eggman for the past decade.
I started hearing Mike Pollock's eggstrodinary performance as Eggman in Sonic Colors and Sonic Unleashed. Even if the writing can get iffy between Colors and Forces, Mike still gives it his all. He's one of the biggest reason why I consider Eggman my favorite character of all time and the best part of every Sonic game (Mario and Luigi, surprising enough, is only second place).
Mike pollock isn't the best voice actor for Eggman.
He is Dr Eggman
0:44 That was actually the very first time I ever heard any voice of Dr. Eggman. I had no idea that it was also Mike Pollock too.
Mike Pollock is the most iconic voice actor at best compared to deem Bristow's legacy, as a kid, i thought in sonic riders where deem Bristow's voice clips in there instead of mike Pollock voice clips should have been more suitable before zero gravity exists
The first time I heard Mike Pollock as English Eggman was in Shadow The Hedgehog Game because during Sonic X I watched the French dub based on the Japanese version. Marc Bretonniere is still the running voice of French Eggman 20 years later thanks to Sonic Prime.
I remember stumbling on sonic X one saturday morning, and the rest was history for how I got to know the voice of this great doctor.
Mike is a talented person, and I'm amazed that he's held this mantle for the past 20 years!
I like Mike Pollock as Dr. Eggman
First time I heard of Mike Pollock’s voice as Dr. Eggman was from Sonic ‘06 which I’ve never played before. Happy Eggmanniversary, Doctor. Can’t wait for your next plans against Sonic.
I really liked that one scene from Sonic Lost World where Eggman breaks the wall monitor and threatens the Zeti. You can tell how serious he is, that he planned to torture them all, physically, mentally, and emotionally, until their wills and spirits were broken, begging for a mercy that he would never give. A slow, and agonizing end, as he’d burn the Lost Hex to ashes, before finally finishing them. Mike Polluck can deliver a cruel and merciless Eggman. But his more vulnerable and reasonable side to the Doctor in Frontiers was a pleasant surprise, and a great preformance.
It's crazy to think that it's really has been 20 years since he has done the character, I'll never forget hearing his voice for the first time in Sonic X before i cared much about the voice acting, it feels like yesterday playing these games spending hours learning what's next. I still very much wish the rest of the actors of Sonic X were able to evolve with him but at the very least i can appreciate what Mike has given up for 2 decades. Thank you for all these years of memories and here's to 20 more years of such.
This is elite
The only 4kids voice actor to remain in the English voice cast and l like it
I first heard his Eggman voice in Mario and Sonic at the Olympics Games for the Wii back in 2008.
He first voiced eggman in the sonic x anime and the first time he voices eggman inthe games was in shadow the Hedgehog
I'm not the only one who thinks that Mike's early years as Eggman sounded like he was trying to sound a bit more like Deem Bristow, right?
That's intentional, Mike Pollock himself said he auditioned by being asked to match Deem Bristow's take and was booked as a sound alike. But at early as episode 4-5 of X, you can start to hear more of his own take slipping in as they found a new direction that worked better for him and for the tone they wanted to go for with the comedy and all.
@@EggEmperoreveryone from 4kids was like that. Jason Griffith sounded like he was imitating Ryan Drummond
@@HerooftheWild I'm not aware of how the others were hired because I was never really interested in looking into that :P All I know is that Mike Pollock at least was deliberately booked as a sound alike and they wouldn't accept him until they were satisfied and felt he could do it. Maybe it was the same for the others, Idk
Yep nobody does it better than him
Mike Pollock is the E.G.G.M.A.N.
He voiced Eggman since shadow the hedgehog
There's a mistake in your description, in the portable version of Generations, it should say "3DS" instead of "DS"
Whoops thanks, will fix
@@EggEmperor no prob

Do with Eggman's voice actors in different languages
Maybe mike is missing jason,Lisa and dan
