First time we got an in-depth perspective of the pink soldiers. That was such an interesting twist. I also kinda wish Gongyoo stuck around for 1 more episode. He was so epic :(
Lee jung jae is a masterful actor. Actually they all are, main part of the reason why korean shows are appealling, riveting. You will recognise some actors later on who are completely different from their roles/characters on other shows. So much so i think you wont notice one or two of these actors.

just seeing your face on these thumbnails made me wanna get to watch episode 2 and come back rewatch it with you . I'm still emotionally stunted from episode 1 , I thought i'd binge watch it one go but once a day seem more reasonable now . that subway guy was so hot yet so creepy and disturbing .

My only issue with this entire season is this episode. He has a tooth removed and replaced with a tracker, clearly meaning he intends to go to the games, and then his special forces team do everything they can to prevent him from being taken while using the tracker to trace his location? They literally gave the game away! The not stupid way to do this is this: implant the tracker, but TURN IT OFF so that it isn't both screaming it's existence and wasting battery. Then put 3 tracking devices on him, 1 in his clothing, 1 inside his shoe, and 1 in his underwear, and then when he gets to the island he turns on his tooth tracker. With that small change, this episode makes sense
Except it doesn't seem like that was the plan, originally. There's a reason they have that shot of Jun-Ho reacting to Gi-Hyun telling the Frontman to put him in the game; he wasn't expecting that. It's reasonable to assume they would have taken him somewhere else for the meeting, and they wanted a reliable way to track him if they lost sight of him. Remember, this wasn't a regular invitation, this was set up by the guy scouting players. They did this so he could talk to the Frontman, not to put him back in the game. Gi-Hyun may have always intended to go back, but it doesn't seem like anyone else was privy to that.
