The fastest gas truck is a slug next to the EV trucks, this makes that perfectly clear. Now we'll need the R1T race the Cyberbeast, I think that would come down to the better driver.
Now let's see them do an overland U-Drag.
This was sort of done. The Rivian is far better up to 100, but over 100 the Raptor is a bit more stable. Look up Ford F-150 Raptor R vs. Rivian R1T | Off-Road Comparison Test | Acceleration, Suspension & More from Edmunds.
@@TheBowerbirdno. He means actually going overlanding. Where time, distance and range are paramount
Id like to see a dedicated rolling race with out the u-turn. I know the Raptor R has no chance, but I'd still like to see the difference in the result
Anyone else notice Jonathan wearing a Saturn hat in the last two videos? As a 2 time Saturn owner, I wonder what his favorite Saturn was?
I thought I was tripping lol
Not that it would have remotely changed the result, but a more fair comparison would have been to have the Rivian at the highest ride height possible and not in sport mode. The Raptor doesn't have the ability to lower itself. Fair comparison would be to get both as close to each other. Rivian would still dominate, but would give a more true result.
Fun vid 😎
This proves what I’ve said all along, most raptor owners don’t need the trucks they’re driving because they never see any off-road duty.
If given the option for one or the other, id take the Rivian all day long. Never been a Ford fan and to be honest, Rivian is about the only EV truck and SUV manufacturer I actually like.
I don't even need to watch this one. We know the winner here. It won't be close. So I'll just post and leave without watching lol
Hot hatches are so much more fun to watch than these behemoths!
I realize that Ford is a street legal off roader, but that was beyond horrendous in the turns.
Yea, who would have thought a vehicle with soft suspension tuning designed for high speed desert running would be soft in turns!!! I mean really…who would have thought!
The Raptor braking looked super sketch. Not surprised with the results but entertaining to watch the Raptor
with 15k+ difference (because you know, EVs are so expensive), you can upgrade shocks and tires in the R1T, and smoke the raptor off road too
You can not ever make up for the 900lbs weight delta sorry
@@mattbrew11 not smarter than me, sorry!
Not a long ago this very channel made a 1/2 mile drag race comparison on a dirt road between the Raptor and R1T, both unmodified. the Raptor won for a whopping 0.6s! And those 900Lbs are low in the truck.
I am predicting a win for the R1T, as I dont think the Raptor R can change directions gracefully.
Maybe Edmunds needs a U-Drag off-road course, just saying
Pro tip launch the raptor in 4wd then swap to 2wd. Looks pretty obvious that the 4wd is binding hard under braking and in the corner. It would sadly still lose.
Honestly my wife has the rivian suv and it drives like a sedan. Is Lower The center of gravity is low because of the battery. I don’t consider a rivian a truck because it’s more like a sedan with tail
Might wanna use a reg cab f 150 short bed with a blower..would be opposite results..
This is comparing apples and oranges. I'd like to see the Rivian fording, muddling or driving in rocky roads. Or better, a long distance race.
Never understood why loud, harder handling, wheel spinning, etc. is considered more fun.
Only Edmunds would take a pavement princess electric vehicle and put it up against an off-road legend and then be surprised when it wins. Wow.
That's not a "rev limiter" your hitting at 111 mph. It's a speed limiter.
😂😂😂😂 you got him
I gotta 19 mustang gt pp1 yall can borrow, yall should race it against a 2024 mustang gt performance pack
Raptor all day for me, plz. It's LIGHT YEARS better at doing most truck things.
It would be interesting to see these off road, especially with a bump or two on the dirt.
There's a video with just that! Look it up on UA-cam. Spoiler: The Rivian is better over the bumps.

For those of y'all requesting for R1T vs cyber truck. That has already been done. CBT wins on the drag race.
Never in my life thought someone could make a Raptor seem like a boring truck
The R is an OFF ROAD TRUCK, H E L L O ! ! ! ! Do your race on an off road trail that would make a good watch .
Not that it matters in a race, but in daily driving the electric Rivian gets EPA 70mpge. The Raptor R lists as EPA 12mpg but good luck even getting that number in real life. I have a Rivian R1s SUV and it is so fast it is frightening. Did a full pull once and that was enough for me. I charge at home prioritzing my solar I did some napkin math ,,,costs me the equivalent of 50 cents per gallon of gas, even after my solar monthly loan. I am not a gasoline hater- last year I bought a Triumph Speed Twin 1200 for weekend fun. But it is clear the future is here with EV tech and the move away from gasoline is real. America better get serious about it because losing this technology and sales fight to foreign competition will be disastrous for the country.
The Rivian truck looks like it came straight out of a Dilbert comic strip. I mean, just look at those headlights. 🤓
Yeah, try it off road and see how they do. An off road truck meant for climbing and jumping, with giant off road tires....
Can’t wait to see the CyberBeast smoke the Raptor R. The 2nd extinction of the dinosaurs! 🦕 Fate loves irony 🤣
I am very curious if my BRZ would beat the Raptor on that track. I am thinking YES. 380WHP
Dang that rivian is fast!!!! Give me the raptor R
It may be faster to 60 but i bet the Ford wins when filling up!
I'd like to see the Raptor R vs TRX.
