John, i don’t know if you’ll read this but I live in Fort Worth and have been to Red River before. It’s a nightmare. Get to your seats AT LEAST 50 minutes early. It’ll be in the 90s Saturday and they herd you in like cattle. Get there early to avoid the masses, it’s seriously unlike any game I’ve ever been too with how many bodies are around. Plus, if it’s a blowout, leave early. The Texas state fair + the game is a crazy combo. You’ll never be more claustrophobic in your life and it’s going to be hot as hell out there. Love the pod btw
The Jets allowing Rodgers to bring in Nathaniel Hackett as the OC was the kiss of death for them. His offense is so unwatchable. There are 30-40 assistant coaches on other teams who could do a better job than him. They could bring in the youngest Kubiak brother, even if hes in high school, and hed be better than Hackett
Trading for Rodgers at all was the kiss of death. He demanded Hackett cuz he wanted a coach he could dominate. He wont play for anyone who will coach him hard.

I've been watching the Ravens since they came to town as a young kid. Back to back great GMs in Ozzie and EDC, an owner that doesn't meddle with the system in place. I have to remind people how spoiled we are as a fanbase sometimes because of how rare that is, a ton of fans of teams have no idea what that even feels like.

Product is getting rough due to horrible rules and poor qb play/coaching starting in pop warner, up through high school and college. But honestly it’s the rules and penalties that kill it. Sometimes I feel like football is just an overly flawed sport when there’s nearly 20 flags in a game. Makes it borderline unwatchable.
It’s because you can call multiple flags on every play. Nothing is for sure or cut and dry basketball is having the same issue but because of traveling and carrying. In football there is holding on every play.

I dont think the Cowboys are even going to be threat for the division. They are going to lose their next 3 games. That puts them at 2-5, maybe they can make a run if Micah and Bland come back and are healthy. Thats if no one else gets hurt. The Cowboys didnt fill any holes from last year, nor did they fill any left by departing free agents. That has left them with 0 depth and i think at best they are a 9 win team this year, and 5 or 6 wins is on the table, if it goes sideways and Mcarthy loses the locker room.
What exactly has Mark Davis done to be a bad owner? He is not getting in the way of the GM’s doing their job. Unfortunately, the Gruden/McDaniels back to back hires didn’t pan out but he wanted to do the right hires.

He is willing to let his gm do their job without interference. For me it is often things like having a ”we have the formula to beat…”, puffing your chest and talk about how we are aggressive, but then like social media posts as a HC that indicates your top reciever is out, or celebrate a win like you are getting a ring & smoke cigars like you just got a ring, after a win early in the season, just to look really bad the week after. It is the boasting, bravado, puffing your chest, and not backing it up with pretty much anything that makes it look so bad to me. Like where is the working in silence to improve and show you are at least a bit humble/smart enough to not act like (make noice like) you have several rings and championship wins, when you don’t. For me it looks a bit like you are showing the players you want to grow, work hard, stay smart, that you’ve already made it, like it is sort of cool if we just act like we could win, without showing it. Like could you see Bill in New England like posts about his players being on the way out, or Andy Reed or Kyle? Like hell no. I could see that if a member of staff (a coach or front office person) is that messy in many organizations, it would be seen as so embarrassing that the person would maybe be on the way out if they don’t win enough.

I am older than John, I was in my 3rd yr of college when the Raiders won the 2002 AFC Championship game, that was their last playoff win.

Good teams don't lose to bad teams. It can be enough to go to the playoffs with a win or two against a .500+ team.
The Commanders are part of the reason those teams are 3-9. If the games had gone the other way the combined records would be 6-6.
