This is one of the most asked about things when building a functional model Lowrider. Great job explaining how to modify a servo. I just wanted to add 2 things. After you modify it, you can cut out some of the unused plastic (leaving the gear housing on, but cutting the “extra” plastic which leaves the servo in a sort of “L” shape) if you need a better fit. Also, some people use smaller servos (I like both the 3.7 gram and the 4.3 gram servos for this) when building a car that doesn’t have much room for the servos. I haven’t come across a smaller servo that needs any modification to rotate 360 degrees both ways. Just my 2 cents. Great video!
John Connor no problem at all. I’m definitely not trying to step on your feet so to speak, I just wanted to add those two things to try and help out a bit. I know that a lot of people want to learn how to build these, and these videos help out a ton. Salute to you for doing these how to’s.
The servos I bought look the same but have a circuit board is connected to the back of the motor and no red and black wires inside. I took a whole motor apart. Any suggestions on how to mod it?
❤ John u the man I did my first ever servos watching u thanks

Thanks! Yea, my cutlass has a real small servo and all the impalas have L shaped servos that I cut to fit. More to come....

Awesome brother keep up the awesome work
Thomas Soltis
Thank you sir!
It’s a rotary encoder not a potentiometer. Records the position of the shaft and returns it to the controller.

Yes, there should be 2 wires coming from the motor. Those are all you need, cut them from the circuit board and junk the board.
can u make a video on how to wire the switchbox with the 7.2 volt battery
