    Excellent video with lots of practical tips! I found a softer reed (going down at least a half strength) and Legere synthetic reeds (Signature and American Cut) make it much easier to play the lowest notes under control. I used to think going down on reed strength was a sign of weakness. I now realize, thanks in part to your videos, that’s not true. The challenge for me is finding a reed that is soft enough for the lowest notes, but hard enough for the highest notes as I continue to strengthen/improve my embouchure. Thank you!

    Very detailed and informative. Thank you for this video. It’s the best one on low notes on UA-cam thus far.

    Thank you! I am 65 and have been playing only 11 months or so. I have been having real trouble with these low notes on both Alto and Tenor. I have watched almost 20 videos on this subject, this is the best and most realistic/practical so far. I have several angles of attack to try now. God Bless, and keep the helpful content coming!.

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. If you find something that works for you let me know what it is. Changing my reed to a different brand helped me on alto. I have been watching some comparison videos on different reeds and how some of them make it difficult to play notes in different registers.

    May be a stupid question but is there a way to stop so much moisture coming out of my top tone holes while playing ? Because I’m starting to find this is starting to become a problem with my fingers getting wet and slipping on the keys. And thanks.

    I don't know how to play without the Double Liped embouchure. Is that normal for some player ?

      Hi. Most people play with a single lip embouchure. Usually a person will not change between single and double but will stick to one way of playing and perfect that. If double lip embouchure works for you then you should stick with it. If you want to play with a single lip embouchure then it is just a matter of practice and getting used to that style of playing. It will take some time to switch between different forms of embouchure especially since in the beginning it will feel unnatural. Some professionals use single while others double, which means both are equally good, so don't feel that you have to learn both. Use the embouchure that is most comfortable to you. As with all techniques on the saxophone, it takes time to learn them and this is the same with the embouchure. Thanks

    how do you play vibrato on these low notes on Saxophone?!

    • @Saxcomprehensive
      @Saxcomprehensive  2 роки тому

      Hi. You play vibrato the same way as you would on any other note by quickly tightening and loosing your lips or by moving your throat. I have done a video on vibrato and you just use the same techniques on the low notes. Thanks
