We bought two pairs of the Battle Vision, one for me and one for my wife. After cataract surgery, our eyes are light sensitive and these sun glasses work great for us. Cut glare and still not too dark for regular vision. The mirror does have some effect when talking to friends, etc. They use me to comb their hair and put on makeup, LOL. Kidding aside though, we do like them and $15/pair is a fair price considering the nice case they come with.
Good video. Couple of other tests you might consider for glasses: 1) The Drop Test. Drop them and let them tumble across asphalt. See which ones scratch. 2) The Big Head Test. Squeeze them around a big melon or something, leave them for several days and see if they break at the hinges or nose.
The true test for yellow-night driving glasses is the road glare on wet blacktop, at night, during a rain storm. Ray Ban used to make (may still make) an aviator (tear drop) style set of driving glasses that worked remarkably well at cutting down wet road glare. As far as the reddish-pink glasses not being able to see the Statue of Liberty or colored Eagle; that's probably because those lenses are not polarized. One thing about the polarized lenses. I've noticed that the LCD display for my in dash GPS unit is extremely hard to read unless you tilt your head at an odd angle. [Addendum] Most guys I knew/know in the military wear Wiley X brand glasses. Not to say that everyone in the military does. They were just the popular brand worn in my area.
I have Battle Vision sunglasses, they are comfortable and they really work me cause I work outside most of the time and drive. They are worth it, it's comfortable and they won't poke you badly with the lenses.
Honestly, I've owned more high end pairs of sun glasses over the years and for the most part, they perform very well because they have Glass optics versus plastic. The only pair of inexpensive glasses that I bought over 40 years ago and remain top on my list are the original Blue Blocker sun glasses. $19.95, that was a lot of money back then but were still cheap compared to my Carrera & RayBan and the glasses provide maximum eye relief and glare relief when looking in the direction of the sun and can easily be worn at night without compromising safety. They are not much to look at and you have to get use to the yellow lenses as they are NOT for everyone. I swear by them however and the build quality remains excellent over 40 years later. Too bad you can not buy the originals anymore, great product. Thanks for you review.......
Dude , you should've used the Battle glasses against the powerful LED lights at night. If anyone can tell me which is the better one against LED night headlights.
I just found your channel, started binge watching, and subscribed. I appreciate your honest review of products....... Oh. And by the way, you are correct in saying that these glasses are not what people in the military wear. I just retired from military service (multiple branches) and these are not regulation. Only black frames with no logos, non reflective and neutral tinted lenses can be worn, in uniform.
I don't know how you keep all the brands straight. Do you use a script of some sort? I'd love to watch a behind the scenes (someone filming you filming a review). FWIW, you are good at this.
Night vision glasses I agree with this review. It does make everything yellow. I used them only one time I think it may help a tad with the bright white headlights but not enough difference where I would spend 15 for it. Also I felt like it would be harder to see deer with. I usually see 15 deer at night driving home but I didn’t see any using these glasses. I do have the double pack for the day time too I like them but they give me a headache wearing it but I will wear the day time again do to only using them once
Those will definitely give your position away... you'll be spotted a mile away, and they have that 1970's Disco Funky Town look... Not that anything was wrong with that time period, for I was there, yeah! 🕺🏽💃🏻🎶 😎No incognito with those.
well James I want a BattleTech Bailey so cute I didn't realize there was that many glasses out like that you should keep the one pair just for playing basketball your great at playing it great review James as always thank you
I've tried both the tac glasses and the battle vision glasses. Both of them work well as far as cheap sunglasses go but IMO the battle vision glasses frames are too big on the side and ear pieces. They drive me crazy when I wear a hat with them. Other than the ear pieces, they have been good and solid for cheap sunglasses to wear while working outside.
i use yellow sunglasses when biking because when cloudy day it make thing look more bright and less gloomy and nighttime and remove glare. though mine not this brand. great during winter and snow. (sorry for grammer)
My mom has some amber glasses for night driving too and they work great. I've borrowed them while helping her go somewhere. She's had them for YEARS though. Long before any of these came out
The Bell Howell Tact Night glasses do work for me as for as reducing blinding lights like those unnaturally bright headlights and people who refuse to turn off high beams when they're behind someone. I don't use them every night but on nights when my eyes feel more light sensitive.
Hey, James! Great review. I wonder how would the night vision glasses work as computer monitor glasses? Would they cut the glare or relieve eye strain?
Well, many brands of computer glasses have yellow lenses, so they might work well. But then again, the best use might be if you want to wear glasses but you have 20\20 or 6\6 eyesight.
Battle vision seemed to work the best overall for revealing details with those demo pictures. TBH, I actually like the mirrored rainbow effect. Though I'd probably go for something a bit less cheap than these. I wear prescription glasses though, so sunglasses of any sort aren't really for me, unfortunately. Yes, I could get prescription sunglasses, but I can't be bothered with the expense and inconvenience TBH.
@FreakinReviews Have you done a "BLUELIGHT BLOCKER GLASSES" review ? I'm searching for some good one's to use , would like to know before I sink money into them if there is a good pair and or lousy pair to choose.
The night glasses work like an unsharp mask in photography, it creates contrast between colour variations. I use them mainly during the winter daytime driving, as on overcast or light snowy days everything is grey, these pop up the colours and contrast instead of everything blending into a grey gamut.
Great reviews man. Just a suggestion for future review on “tactical” shades. I would compare them off of APEL sunglasses and maybe do some fragmentation defense as part of your review. I would imagine most people looking to actually buy these want them for the range or something. Either way man, great reviews and great videos bro!
I've used night vision polarized glasses as daytime driving glasses. Polarized glare turns into darker yellow instead of being filtered out like gray/dark lenses are able to. So you'll see sunlight on other car windshields as dark yellow. Which helps out some I suppose.
I had the night vision aviators and sadly, they didn’t work for me either. They did come in handy for a Halloween party where I dressed up as Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing, so I guess they weren’t COMPLETELY useless, but definitely disappointing.
I just tried the battle Vision at night they work with headlight glare apparently they don't advertise that probably because they're afraid of getting sued
From what you showed, i like the way the Tac glasses worked. But i like dark shades. LoL 😁 Thanks for reviewing these! I've been looking at several of them and couldn't decide which to get
I ordered them before watching your review i will comment on the battle vision after i get them, ps. I am color blind so amber shooing glasses are my glasses of choice due to reducing the UV content of the sun
Have you seen “Blue Blocker” from years ago? They were impressive, worked well, from bright sun light to low night time driving. A little dark sometimes at night but most of the time helped great with on coming head light. In a heavy rain storm the Blue Blockers would double your field of view, like day and night. Many glasses came out after them making the same claim to block the blue light but was never as good as the original “Blue Blocker”.
The rainbow tint I actually think is pretty cool I like the retro look just my personal opinion but hey like u say it's not for you I understand great videos I love all your review s by the way
I drive at night everyday. I have go e the route of getting lenses made for night driving with anti glare.in my experience, they are more of a pain than they're worth. If they are not completely clean, the glare and the way it effects light gets even more anoying. As for an amber or yellow color lense, this is the route I gone for night driving. They don't reduce glare but they do reduce blue light which can cause eye strain. So I wear night driving glasses to reduce eye strain from blue light and not to reduce glare. They do have some light loss but not enough to make a noticeable difference. It is important to get the rite shade of amber or yellow tint that works for you. 👍
I bought the TAC night visions. They only make things yellow, the headlights look the same. I feel that their commercial is modified, so when that semi approaches, they do something to the view. They should put THAT product in the TAC frames!
@freakinreviews What about driving over the road. Sometimes I am in extremely dark places with deer popping out of nowhere. Let al9ne other things. What do you recommend? Especially for those bright lights from vehicles traveling towards you? Show in video please!
You should also have a review of some of the UV yellow tinted lens safety glasses they have out now. I wear a pair of them at night when I'm driving, especially long distances. They work for me. in cutting down some of the glare and eyestrain.
@@TheMalizgue I found some at the local hardware stores like home Depot and harbor freight. Even cheaper basic yellow tinted safety glasses seems to work well
I would like to see this video again, but allowing the camera to focus each time you move the glasses in and out of frame. Can't really see the proper effect that the glasses give, unless you need prescription glasses.
I don't get the sunglasses and the flashlight marketing with all this military allusion. It gives you impression that life is a battlefield. I need prescription sunglasses anyway, so these would be useless to me. Battle Bailey looked bad ass!
When I was in the army, these glasses would have been way out of regulation and probably still are, no idea since when I got out I didn't keep up with the army regs anymore since they just didn't apply to me. These are also not something I'd wear unless they were the last pair on earth and it happened to be sunny out. I'll just use the pair I already own and have been using for years.
I use te Ambervision 1990 sunglasses from telebrands since I Watch the review of them I bougth them im 16 and for my surprise my friends love them and say that they fit very Nice on me.
I thought the HD vision had a relaxing effect on eyes, but the frame was crap the ear piece hinge just fell apart after 2 months. replaced with battle vision not quite as good as the hd but the frame has lasted over a year and i got 2 for the price of one hd vision.
The night vision glasse4s did seem to dim the opposing cars headlights which is important when you are on a dark country roads and you have those two opposing lanes where car after car is passing you and blinding you with their lights. I have that issue a LOT near where I live. Hmmm, maybe those could be a solution. Good lord they are ugly as heck though lol.
They are all cheaply made. Out of all of them I agree with you the HD Vision Special Ops are better!! Do a review on the Bavarian Edge Knife Sharpener!!
the battlevision day looks like it helps, but the tac night and the nv night don't make any difference in glare. i wouldn't waste my time with those night glasses.
The yellow tinted ' night vision ' glasses are not really functional unless you're eyes are a bit more sensitive to light than the average person and thus need protection from excess glare, Apart from that, they may make good glasses to wear to look cool or just because you want to wear glasses but don't need a prescription.
The good ones actually do work and well. They don't provide any darkness, so useless during the day unless it's overcast. They brighten your surroundings, cut glare and clear your vision. My mom has a really old pair that work wonderfully. Wish i could find another pair like hers
the 'test cards' are a joke fyi. It's called polarizing filters. We've had them for decades and they're useless. It's used by conmen to sell 'tactical glasses'. I'm sitting in front of a 30 inch polarizing lens typing this...

I've owned Eagle Eyes for almost 20 yrs. and I love them; work great day or night. Mine are chrome metal and look very classy. I highly recommend.

Just received battle vision day and night glasses as a gift. Comfortable and effective.

Eagle Eyes Sunglasses
Those night glasses work good in a hard rain during the day when it's that foggy mist rain. But any yellow shooting glasses work to.
I just bought the battle vision ($21.99) at Walgreens and it came as a 2 pack so that's pretty cool.
Loved the little Bailey cameo @ the ending. She is so darn cute! 🐶🐾💖
Hah well I try to have her make an appearance as often as I can!

So they finally made the “They Live” sunglasses?
I have those tac glasses. They are just cheaply made polarized sunglasses. That's their whole story. Disappointed they weren't built better.
.. so, sunglasses make you a better basketball player?.. wow :)
Try 'em on Shaquille O'Neal. Famous for being a lousy free throw shooter.
Yep cause they take the glare off the board allowing to precisely aim at the hoop without your eyes straining on a white background.
Thanks I was considering the flip up being advertised because my eyeglass problems you just saved me time & money 👍 much appreciated
You are hilarious!!!! Jaundice version!! Shooting hoops!! :D :D

Probably pre-reads for memorization and maybe multiple takes to get things right.
What do you think about the clear vision glass it has glare free, night vision
I would like to see a review on the two Costco Kirkland sunglasses. Are they really high end glasses for only $25ish bucks?
Bit late but no, they are not what they say, not even close

Supposedly, yellow lenses are also good for indoor use, especially on the computer. Thus many computer gaming glasses have yellow lenses.

I enjoy the battle vision they we're a gift and they work good for me when fishing on the coast does help a lot with the glare of the water
There doesn't seem to be a difference in the intensity of glare at night, they just change the color of glare

I wonder how many tries it took to make that basketball shot 😂😂
I’m not sure how you can keep them all straight! LOL Great review!
It's becoming more and more difficult!
So which do you recommend for day time and night time . Add link please too

Can you review different dog harnesses? You have the same dog I do and I have no idea what to buy lol
That basketball test convinced me 😂
How much uv does battle vision really block?
GREAT VIDEO!!!
I would like to see this video again, but allowing the camera to focus each time you move the glasses in and out of frame. Can't really see the proper effect that the glasses give, unless you need prescription glasses.

The night vision glasses just seemed to have a yellow glare as to the normal glare
I just ordered these for 11.49 off eBay you get 2 at that price haven't received them yet but the cost is like 7.25 apiece
As far as I can tell, they only lower the stress on your eyes from the glare by filtering out the harsher blue light.
Seiko vision lenses are the best. Bit costly but worth it.

Great glasses but they break too fast. They need to improve the frame quality
Have you tried the gunnar optiks ?
The night vision glasses are probably good if you want to wear glasses but don't need them to see.
One very important issue is scratch resistant
have you tried buying sunglasses from ebay there half the price
I feel like Night Vision is best suited for those with Night Blindness but even then I feel like those be dodgy to be wearing at night.
the 'test cards' are a joke fyi.
