I'm from the part of EU where cdjs are club standard and in most of them you are not allowed to play with controller. I found these two the best way how to get used to expensive club setup! I had the opportunity to play on 2000 nexus and then I bought this and I can say this will make you ready for better price than one nexus player!
Glad there a review of this product. I saw it used at an event I attended. It looks like a small version of the XDJ 1000. I am doing more research on it.
Fantastic bit of kit, complements the Nexus mk2's. Although this may seem excessive they are what they were originaly meant to be, supplemental hardware.
Those external power supply, most of them, will make your pro audio amp humming - and you will also get static noise on primary channel - if they are plugged in an outlet that is on the same electrical line. Be aware of this!
I have exactly the same dilemma in my head. Currently I have a Traktor s5 controller, but I want to go back to pioneer. I miss the booth output on the djm 450, but the xdj rx2 has booth output. I’d like to hear other people opinion on this.
@@norbertszel-toth7038 yeah but if your prepping for a club gig then you'll likely use neither the 700 or a controller so the booth output is important only if you are playing gigs with lots of speakers, And to be fair a 450mk2 isnt the mixer your going to have when you have multiple speakers outdoors, neither is the controller. Old go with the 700s at least you can always upgrade the mixer, can't do that with your controller
You can hook up the XDJ-700 to any mixer you want, doesn't have to be a Pioneer DJ mixer. Compared to the XDJ-RX, I would say that flexibility in configuring your set-up is its advantage :)
@Science of Sound xdj 700 actually has better specs in terms of signal to noise ratio. Plus you get a nice mixer, sound quality is probably better. Flexibility is good if you want to upgrade to different mixer or add other decks. More importantly I think two xdj700s and a mixer is more similar to the club layout. Xdj rx has one screen and the work flow is different. Xdj 700s seems closer to what ive used in clubs.
I’ve had a ddj-400 for about 18 months now why I have been learning and practicing like mad. I feel I’m ready to upgrade now but can’t afford cdj 900/2000 or xdj1000. Do you think these would be great for the next step and to get use to using cdj’s?
You might be better off renting some CDJ2000NXS for a week, you'll soon realise there is very little need to have them at home for practicing - it's DJing, it's done the same of every bit of gear out there, play is play, cue is cue etc :) Something like the DDJ-1000 might be a good upgrade from the 400 though for some extra channels, nicer jogs etc
Digital DJ Tips thanks, definitely want to upgrade sometime soon. The 700’s with a Djm450 mixer is what I’m thinking at the moment as getting used to mixing on decks rather than a controller is the direction I would like to go, but will definitely be having a big think before I purchase lol 👍
I have a question. I recently bought an XDJ700 with my SP16 but the XDJ automatically works as master tempo, so when I load a new track on de XDJ while my SP16 is playing it will automatically jump tempo. I understand that's why you put your DJS1000 as master, but do you know a workaround for this without buying one and just sticking with my SP16 and XDJ700?
Can you give me tip i have ddj 400 and i want to upgrade.. i want xdj 700 and djm 450 or ddj 1000 what is the best choice ddj 1000 or xdj 700 for 2020?

Great review thanks. Currently using 1210s with rekordbox DVS , an SP1 and xone 43c. Was looking at getting a ddj800 or 1000 to use separately (mainly home use) but now I’m thinking I might be better off adding 2 of these to my current set up seeing as I already have a 4 channel mixer. Any advice on this? Are these still worth buying in 2021 or would I be better off getting the separate controller?
do I need a mixer with a built-in sound card (e.g. something like the xone 23c) to play on the xdj-700? Or is a regular mixer like the xone23 enough as there is a sound card in the xdjs?
