A little disappointed to find that Patrick Droney isn’t an ambient guitarist. Not gonna lie.

I'm glad fender is marketing these a bunch because I love all of fender's offsets. I hope they pick up in popularity cause they have so much personality. Great option for people who just don't feel the strat or tele.

These offset guitars are perfect for mates like me with small hands and narrow finger span. Not everyone have long fingers like Paul Gilbert, these short scale guitars play like butter

I️ have huge hands and usually play strats, but I️ played one of these yesterday and it’s the easiest thing I’ve ever played, really comfortable

and a great option for people who do feel the strat and tele, but would like an option with different orientation and character blended with strat and tele like sounds you can dial in

Between these and Mustangs lately, I've not been playingbmy Strat or Tele. They're great, but sometimes the place I write from just doesn't like a Strat or Tele. It wants short scale chord chime, and snappy little leads and bends.

@@caiusmadison2996 Now that youp mention that, I realize I do most of my writing on my short scales for whatever reason.

Capri Orange is so bang! I love those old Competition Mustangs, similar to this, but with matching headstock and stripe of darker orange on body. Like an orange themed Smells Like Teen Spirit guitar. So cool, if I ever win that lottery some day! Lol

I have the 2x single coil pickups version of this Duo Sonic in Arctic White (ie: off-white!!)
Over many, many years I've played or tried Strats, LPs, Schecters, Epis and Gretsch but I've somewhat surprised myself because I now MUCH prefer the Duo - fabulous neck, fatter frets and low action. Feels absolutely right. The slightly smaller size and slightly shorter scale makes it perfect for noodling on the couch. The 3 pickups have very different and distinctive voices. The pots work smoothly without sudden boosts or drop-offs in volume or tone. The position and style of the volume knob makes it ideal if you fancy a touch of Buchanan's 'crying' tone. Nothing fancy here. Nothing blingy, flash or overdone - just a perfect, straightforward, all-round enjoyable instrument to play. AND it doesn't break the bank! All round 10/10.

I wish Fender did more HS models. I had an HS Strat back in the day that I loved that I retired, and I just never got another Fender to replace it because I didn't feel like going through the bother of changing the pickups, rewiring, and then getting a new pickguard.
I mean shit... I can pay out the ass to buy a guitar they've beaten the hell out of, but they can't make some HS configuration production models?

These offset guitars were made with the shorter 24” neck for beginners. A lot easier to fret. If you don’t like it, it shouldn’t be too hard to resell because used ones are hard to come by.

why not make it true to the original specs with a thinner nut & 21 fret neck so younger players could have a student guitar. You can't get the old ones cheap any more like when I was a kid. People think they are worth thousands. Trust me they are not. I had one. I could hardly wait to get a Tele.

I have this guitar and so far so good. Haven't plugged it into my main rig only a small tube practice rig. Put the strings I love on it and cleaned it up. I'm liking this guitar a lot. I have to say it is brighter than I may want (haven't played though my main rig so I can't really say yet) but through the practice small tube amp I must say its a little bright for my taste. Although, I think this would help me stand out in a full band. Plus were our worst enemy, I think the audience would love the sound of this guitar, it's when we play it we question tone.
Not a fan of the tone knob it's not the best. But I don't expect good until American standard when it comes to tone and even volume knobs. Other than this I love the guitar. Once I play through my rig I'll simply reply to my comment to further add what a average guitar player of 5 years thinks of this guitar. Played every week for 2 and Half years.

Just thinking if u set the pick up selector in the middle u will get both singles so it will be
Like one humbucker. RE the maple neck duos

coffeewaldo Thanks. These are very affordable at around 500.00 , Interesting question about in between positions... probably just out of phase single. That's what it did when only 3 positions back in the day. I had a MIJ Strat in the 80s but I sold or traded it, I don't even remember. I regretted not going for maple fretboard.

    • @coffeewaldo

Achilles I think ur right its hum cancelling. It is a great price. I got the mustang special with the 2 hbs for physical issues having a hand wrist n neck issue. Yep n I'm
Not old. So the smaller scale etc the better but I
Love hbs and as I said rosewood. I'm thinking although more $$$ look for a Cobain signature fender if u can find one. I hate to say get a squier but they do have some I believe with maple necks for around $200. Or give in and go with a rosewood fretboard and the hs. I would go with the mustang n the p90s on this one. I don't think the duos sound that great at least in the videos.

what's the difference between the duo sonic and mustang?

Baron Scott aesthetically the headstock but the pick ups on the mustang are P-90s or single coil and duo is two single coils or a humbucker in the bridge

Baron Scott Mustang has a lot more switching options and tonal variety but it's more complicated on stage.

Martin Beaudry I hope that they release a left handed edition soon so people aren't missing out. If there's enough demand for it then it will be made eventually. It's a shame.
