Jesus has come again, but in Spirit form. If He was to come back physically then the world would see Him, but we see Him. The whole world would not be able to see Him anyway if He came back in the flesh!
The reason His disciples couldn't see Him any more is because there wasn't anything to see, since He was already in the spiritual realm. That means He had no body. He didn't need a body anymore. He did what the Father told Him to do on the earth and was glorified in heaven at His ascension.
@gotquestions Wouldn't it be a big problem for Christians today if the Bible assumes Christ literally went up into the clouds to get to heaven, instead of just disappearing from the disciples view into the heavenly dimension? Wouldn't such a depiction of the ascension show that the new testament writers are speaking mythologically? Someone please help me with this
The Bible says at 2 Timothy 3:16,17 that ALL Scriptures are inspired by God. He used his Holy Spirit to help with writing so that there is no errors, myths, or falsehoods. These men were not writing fan fiction! Those who witnessed Jesus ascension included his faithful apostles. His ascension began in a visible way to allow his disciples to witness the initial portion of it and to make it obvious that his Kingdom was an heavenly one.
