The prices on this webpage are clearly click bait. It advertises a coop for 50 dollars but when you click it it's only the mesh bottom alone that 50. The actual coop is over 300 dollars. Also claims they are having a sale and reducing prices but they ARE NOT. they are just as expensive as any other cheap chicken coop. I wouldnt trust anything from a company using scum advertising tactics sadly.
These fall apart quickly. If you look up plans for "kids playhouse" you can find very simple plans for free and modify slightly for coop. I have all materials planned out for a 4x8 coop that will be roughly $300 and will be very easy to assemble. Our old coop had one of those pull out metal trays and I *hated* it!
Yea those tiny trays don't have enough of a gap to slide easily and it catches all the time. The drawers are built too shallow so any bedding on top of it just clogs up the tiny tracks.
Thats exactly what I need. I have an 8x4 spot behind my garage. I was thinking about converting a shed or a large doghouse. Im not sure what to do.
Im starting my project soon, this sounds perfect! How did it turn out? Any changes?
@h.s.6269 this is the comment I came to find to see if this was a problem! Thank you
@@sunnyflower1979build my chickens a beach house coop that’s 4x8’ 3’ off the ground on stilts out of broken down pallets, bought the 4 sheets of thin plywood & nails were the only cost covered the roof with free Hurricane metal siding. Put 2 1’ windows on one end of it & a full hardware cloth “wire” wood framed opposite end that’s hinged on the bottom to be a fold down door . Looks great have a 3x5’ black n white American flag with the single red white n blue stripe “supporting 1st responders” on the big front wall of the coop that’s behind my big garage. 🇺🇸 they like it being off the ground. Great spot to stay dry underneath it when it’s raining and is also where they choose to do their dust bathing that and under my boat that’s next to the garage. Also I have my lay boxes in my garage. Guess what not a single poopy egg ever! lol made the roost bar ladder out of 1x1” “cough pickets” also free. Plan on building a matching coop on opposite end of the back of the garage. Cost roughly $100 for the 4x8x4’ that’s 3’ off the ground “ps wheel barrow rolls right under the end with fold down door easy cleaning 👍🏽also instead of A framing the roof, I just made the side that’s against the garage 6” higher water runs right off np 👍🏽 coop holds 20 chickens easily
Glad I read these comments and reviews on Amazon. I’m very new to chicken keeping and it looks like the best thing I can do is build my coop myself.
This is perfect if you want ONE chicken!
Many have mentioned, really only good for 2-3 hens. Can be issues of quality of materials, and longevity. The issue I point out is additional predator proofing is needed. The board at the base of the nesting box needs screwing down, foxes etc, will get under and push it up. Also digging predators from the sides needs protection.
Ultimately, convert a shed or maybe large playhouse to your needs. These little coops are expensive in the longer term (you will want more chickens), so do your research, and put that money into bigger and better.
I wouldn’t put more than 2 chickens in there, they each need space and 3 is ok but 4 is too crowded for my liking
Heads up. Spray it or paint it with weatherproofing. They mould fast
Bought a used one off marketplace. It was brand new when I got it. Three months later and it has fallen apart. Hinges are broken the”heavy duty” locks for the nesting boxes are broken. I’d suggest going a different route.
This is much too small for chickens even in a city backyard. And these things are not sturdy, they fall apart after a year or two
Yes I have a couple of these small ones I got just for chicks one that is protected by a tarp is holding up okay but the other was a total piece of junk like complete trash so buyer beware
@John G Correct, all mass produced coops are garbage. However, it doesn't need 2k to build a good coop. Salvage materials are wonderful. It can take more time to gather materials but it's worth the saved $
@John G I found a source on free pallets today. I need to follow up on Monday. Here's hoping!
Yea i got one similar to this for my quail and it isn't weatherproofed and isn't made well. The inside of the roof and the whole backside started rotting out after a year from rain and winter, even with a tree over it for some semblence of shielding from water.
Of course these aren’t top quality for only $100 lol! Many people are fine with $100 lasting a couple years aka as this videos stated it is a beginner idea before investing thousands of $$$$.
I have a cat house from this brand and I love it.
You don't put mulch on the ground of your chicken coop that's why it's muddy. You use a thick layer of crushed shell. And they need that to eat. Talk to your local feed store they should have what you need
I just got mine, and painted it a dark rose color, 2 coats weather proof water beading paint. It was a murderous nightmare to paint, but it looks dope like a girly farm house
Thanks for the tip! I'll try that for mine too, as well as the homemade one.
their website advertised $60 for the coop then went to like $600 when clicked on
🤣🤣🤣 Predictable
Small chickens need4 sq ft of space inside and 8 sq ft in the outside run. A heavy bodied chicken needs 8 sq ft in the coop and 15 sq ft in the rum. These numbers are for each bird you have. Might be ok for a couple of bantams.
Any tips on outside the coop to keep critters from digging in was thinking nailing chicken wire to the bottom of the outside and bury the chicken wire as deep as the critters could dig
Great ideas!!👍
Cons: it's wood frame will not last long.
The coop is small so only good for bantam or baby chicks.
And it's low to the ground which is a pain for cleaning.
I love it
Are these ok for 3 or 4 chickens as long as you make the run bigger and are those perchs ok thanks
I had this 1 not great . Good 1st coop I guess. Came all busted up. Had to repair it. Glue and what not. good luck contacting them and getting a fix. For the money not bad
The title reminds me of that incident...
How much did it cost to make ? And how much you sell it ?
Can you link the product?
How much chicken plus roosters can fit in there
This exact model I think is about 4. But they have other models ranging from 2-10 I think!
could you share the purchase link. Thank you
Here you go! Thank you for watching!

Where do you get it

How would you "winterize" a simple coop like this one? :)
adding a heater specifically for chickens would help a lot
Basic common sense and google. Tf?
@@scorpionattitude what’s wrong with you? Why so angry and rude? It’s a simple question and sometimes google isn’t trustworthy. If you trust info from google more than from someone with experience that’s a red flag 🚩 i hope if you have chickens they’re ok
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
That is a small run, gotta expand it as much as you can
😃😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hay buddie where can I get one
Amazon
Those coops made with 1x1's are not sturdy and rot out quick, very cheap!
Rots way too fast and not durable vs any determined predator.
do chickens poo all over the yard and make it dirty???
They definitely poo all over the yard, yes. Dirty though, that depends on how big of yard and how many chickens. BUT the poop is also great fertilizer so it can honestly help a lawn!
@WhitepepperFarmshomestead thanks! I was just concerned my scruffy dog would roll in it, (which she probs would)
Walls aren't insulated
Most aren't. Also it depends on what climate the chickens are in.
This is going to last ten seconds if a predator comes around. Look up plans and make your own.
Here is a link for the website if you’re interested!

Small...yea..but for 3 you'll be ok.
You can punch a fish through the thin wood, these things are so flimsy 1 kick could knock them over. Not going to keep chickens safe or warm in a Canadian winter. Might be suitable for down south in an area without predators. Maybe for a couple bantams. I wasted 400$ on one of these. Should have spent it on lumber and built something safe.
Not bad for $370. 91 pounds may cost $$$ in delivery fees though.
Don't bother with stuff like these for that pricing, they fall apart after a year or two. You can make one yourself with thicker wood that will handle the weather better and stain with a sealant to make it much more durable.
You could build this with just basic tools like a drill and a circular saw.
Move the camera closer it’s too far
Too small
Anyone promoting these coops without being honest with size and quality are sell outs.
Disease incoming 😂
That is way too small. You'd be torturing your chickens putting it in that thing. If you can't at least dedicate a 4'x4' coup and a 4'x8' (at least 4' tall) for 6 chickens, I'd say it's better to not get the chickens. You can lift the coop above the ground so that 4 feet of the 8 foot run is actually the bottom/underneath part of the coop, so you'd really only need to dedicate 4'x8' in total, something you should be able to fit into even a small backyard. Again, if you can't dedicate at least that much space, it's better to not torture the chickens and let someone else home them.
Don’t waste your money.. they fall apart quick.. not even 3 months and chicken coop started falling apart..
Using this tiny coop is like abusing to your birds
👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
It'd be fine for a small flock of quail but chickens? Maybe as a grow out for bantam chicks though. Either way, these 1x1 boards are horrible and don't survive 2 years outside and won't stand up to a coyote or fox (who ARE thriving in suburbs and cities without most people even seeing them).
Definitely not raccoon proof
The answer is no. These are junk.
Yeah these have horrible reviews
Trash product. Not even a year in, and it's absolutely falling apart.
Please talk slower.
I hope no one buys this type of coop. They are flimsy and not predator safe.
This chicken coop is a piece of crap
Those pull out floors are absolutely horrible
Yes, how do you do deep mulch method? You can’t.
@@cindyeooeven a light bedding method clogs up these shallow trays and you have to fight to pull them out. Its an absolute pain!
Looks hard to clean
