Only issue I have with this figure (I don't own any other Springers) is that the tabs on his legs developed stress marks the first time I transformed him so now I'm just scared to transform him out of fear of breaking it.
I've already suffered a bit with my Siege Springer, I'm not getting the newest one to suffer some more (even though I got the SS86 Arcee despite owning the Earthrise Arcee, and I like both of those Arcees). (I hate and dread the Sige Springer's transformation.)
86 Springer really is a difficult figure to form an opinion on. Technically it addresses quality issues from the Siege version (such tabbing issues with the legs and chest or weak ankles in robot mode), but it feels like for every improvement there's another issue added. He's absurdly chunky, the new shoulders look awkward no matter how you pose them, his backpack is even worse than before, he's got more unnecessary accessories than he does storage options, and his transformation is still crazy fiddly. I think that's ultimately my biggest critique (besides the price). He's a lot of effort to transform when ultimately his two alt modes really aren't that different from each other. I get that's more of a character design problem, but it doesn't change the fact that he's unpleasant to play with. Legacy Sandstorm imo is how to do a triple changer. He's not perfect either, but at least he's satisfying to transform and there's a visible difference between his modes. You can clearly see a difference between helicopter and dune buggy. Springer is just a fiddly space car that turns into a longer space car with a propeller on top. Oh, and regarding the propeller: why haven't we seen a return of the rotor blade sword from the Generations version? That engineering was leagues better than the scissor sword we got here.
Am I the only one who isn't too bothered by the price? Lile yeah, he's clearly an overpriced voyager with extra stuff, but that isn't anything new for leader class figures. I can think of multiple other figures who've had way worse justifications for their price (legacy blitzwing!!!!!)
