89 cr 250 comes factory red frame. Frame was painted white. Pro link is the suspension style. That's a factory swing arm painted with an oem Pro link sticker on it

There was an 89 90 CR250R that had a white frame, it was rare but they were out there. At the time it was inspired by the Pepsi endorsed race bike
Nice trade! The valve buckets on those 5 valve heads always get stuck. That 150f is really clean, you can tell it wasn't ridden much. Can't wait to see how the cr turns out!
Old men up here in upstate NY. We all have xr100's or 150's. We have bigger stuff and smaller stuff but we have more fun on those small xr's. They are a blast

@@patrickloper9658 Probably needs a good carb clean. If that doesn't help it probably needs a valve adjustment.
The frame is not a one of a kind on the CR It is just painted white. The Pro Link suspension is just what honda called their rear linkage system, its not an aftermarket performance part or anything. That guy don't know sheet!

I hope your paying attention to having good ventilation in your garage. I’ve been watching several of your videos and I worry about your health (especially long term). Please consider getting a carbon monoxide detector if you don’t already have one, and remember to get lots of fresh air in your shop if you’re gonna be running those engines inside like you do.

Try using a specific sized coin and pliers to remove those "straight slot" inspection side cover screws. Hate seeing them all butchered.

Great video Joe I think you done a wonderful trade 1x quad 2x bikes for the Banshee is great deal gives you 3 videos for the channel and they all look in pretty nice condition especially the crf 150 definitely a low hours bike and there really fun to ride interested to see the next video and the cr 250 looks really nice aswell hopefully that runs and just needs a little bit of tweeks here and there great job on the yfz 450 with the valves and chims great to see vinny approved aswell have a great weekend take care bud 👊 💨

You should do a video taking your jump starter apart and removing that buzzer. I’m sure it will work fine without it. Lol. Love the videos by the way. 😁
Obviously you know what you’re doing, awesome video. Wanted to ask u for advise, I have a 2004 Honda TRX450R. It runs good most of the time but from time to time it will start leaking gas from the one hose underneath coming from the carb and it turns off and i struggle to start it back up as if I was flooded I think but it will leak fuel non stop if I don’t close the valve. Give it more than a few kicks with valve off and it will start then I quickly open the valve again and have to keep pushing the throttle till it settles again
The pro link swingarm is stock on the 250 and the frame was painted white. The yfz has a lowering kit in the front. The shocks should bolt straight to the a arms, not thoes brackets someone put on. And that fuel line going to the carb on the quad is not a fuel line, it's a gas cap breather. Replace with a straight piece of fuel line. You don't want all thoes bends in the line.
It's strange to me that someone with such mechanical know-how wouldn't know that or what Ohlins shocks are lol.

You're an inspiration to me. I think I have the aptitude to work on ATVs but I need a good master mechanic to teach me. I live in a place where all we use is ATVs. I don't know how much I can do cause I have a bad back and a shot arm. I currently need all my ATVs worked on. I've been looking for someone to fix them.
Hi I have been watching a lot of your videos and learned soo much about small engine rebuilding. Your videos are like a master class on motorcycle repair.
I'm also not ashamed to admit I'll never understand how carburators work, they make absolutely no sense to me lol.
I also wanted to ask about something else, some of the motorcycles you repair don't have valves like that old 125 you rebuilt. I'm curious what advantage valves and cams give you over the older way they built 2 cycle motors with out them? Is it more horse power and better fuel management? Just curious. Thanks for your videos and all of the great information.
You need a website for everything you have for sale.
Folks are afraid of shimming and until people learn how to shim valves you'll always bag a bargain. I have to say I thought you'd come a cropper on this trade as the guy just was not committing himself to any straight answers whatsoever. This was a real good trade in the end. Well done.
Man you're lucky to be able to leave nice bikes in the back of a pickup overnight. I live in a big metro area and would never try that. Too many thieves around here.

I have a 2004 Yfz 450 and the position sensor on the thumb throttle went out so it wouldn’t do anything like when I would touch the throttle it would just die and it wouldn’t idle at all

Have to ask how do you avoid stolen bikes and your procedure if you end up with one.

That 250r is one BAADDD BIKE! Them 150's are wheelie bikes all the kids around my neighborhood have them and their always on one wheel down my street. Those 150s even being that old still sell for around 25 to 3 grand in my area

I crf150s are going for 2500 to 3k here in Chicago very hard to get
I just have got a 09 wr 300 husqvarna and got a good deal on it it's a very strong running bike it's a 2 stroke.

you should make yourself a nice place to unload things from your truck. Use your machine and make a berm to back up to. it would be much easier to load too. Your next truck needs a full size bed. It looks mini.
I see a set of lug spacers on the front. Those are a little sketchy but they look like they are just 1 inch so not so bad. I got a banshee recently that had like 2.5 inch lug spacers on it all the way around. Super sketchy!
You can take compressor and blow through the fuel line and it help with sticking float and blow out jets. just a quick fix of course

That cr250 never came with a white frame. It was painted at some point. Along with the swingarm
I haven't had motocross bike since Santa swapped my little italajet 50cc for a B.M.X one Christmas morning (never really forgave him for that,even at 7 years old i knew it was a bum deal)....but anyway like I said I haven't got a bike but really enjoy watching your channel,watching you get the trades and fixing them without knowing sometimes what the issue is,it's addictive and then seeing them fixed and running perfect,I think it's great.🤙 🏴

Bypass the radiator can switch and install a on and off switch. Save your battery and fan.

The jet in the bowl for the accelerator pump is reverse from what you would expect. The smaller the hole the more fuel it pumps so being completely clogged would be alright. Its basically a bypass back to the bowl when the diaphragm pumps

Nice 3 for 1 video. If u wanna keep the fan hard wired to the ignition just make sure u keep it in a small battery tender or just a cheap trickle charger for sure. If not a new batt will be dead in 1 to 3 mo.

What banshee did you trade ? The 800$ one ? That's a deal of a lifetime if so.
Everybody's got Banshee fever lol. I love 'em in a straight line, but take one to the track (motocross) and see how they do. They don't handle at all well and a little 4 stroke will blow 'em away every time. If some one were to install a Banshee engine on a modern frame, one with racing suspension tuned for their weight and riding style, they'd have one Hell of a racing machine on their hands. You got a great deal on your trade Joe. Wanting to see what you find out about the bikes next.

Water pumps on the early years of the yfz 450s are no good and there’s a oil plug that gives issues and the battery is gel batt there junk lol the fins brake off inside of water pump case first year for the yfz450 was 04 they had several problems first 2 or 3 years also had high compression I do believe

yeah with that crf150 it made the deal worth it but just the cr250 and yzf 450 are not worth a banshee in my country...

20:30 the spark plug is missing the little cap that helps it snap into the boot
YFZ runs a "C" series plug without the terminal cap
That cr 250 is going to be a great bike if you keep it. I raced one when I was younger, they are great bikes........ 🔥

My polarianpredator 500 had the same style pil tank and the oil does seems to foam up especially of overfilled even a bit to much its normal.

Do you recommend starting a motor once a week during off seasons or storage?
@@e5m956 there is no need to if you put fresh oil before and drain gas from carbs and gas tank or sometimes fill the tank up all the way so there is no space for condensation if you plan to take ur bike out once n a while during off season in that case yes start it at least once a week and let it full warm up and check if everything is still in working order check brakes clutch lights etc and make sure no one has made a home in ur airbox or exhaust pipe
@@very.rare_rex - Problem is there rarely is a plan. One day its 15f, two days later it can be 54f. So I would like to ride as much as possible, but unpredictable weather can tie me up for a couple months and this ethanol gas also sucks for sitting around. My ATV is fuel injected but I have been trying to keep the fuel tank full and leave the battery plugged into a maintainer when parked.
@@e5m956 in that case i recommend starting and warming up at least once a week and id add a fual additive to it i swear by k100 for carbs and injectors

Whenever you go 0.00 on feeler gauges you need to do head work it needs new seats and valves if you shim it wont last long or worse it will drop a valve
