mega potion pip was my first support main... hitting over 200k healing per match is a glorious feeling indeed, and across the map potion snipes as your flank is taking out the enemy backline is just UMPF! you have to remember that because it's a detonatable projectile, the healing range is basically infinite if you know your angles! in my opinion, mega potion pip is a perfect fit with a secondary support like Jenos to do the tiny healings for him to allow pip to focus on the big bursts that matter.
Saaaame. A completely wild thing to start the game on the hardest mode though. hah. And you just KNOW that the flank is overjoyed and their victim is so mad that you hit that shot oh man. You can also ult to completely save someone squishy a la rei ult, saved my ulting imani from a nyx that showed up next to her... Soooooooooo rewarding watching that chicken healthbar vanish under the dragon. The imani all but wanted to marry me
my fav playstyle in the game, duo'ing with comms on a tank with a toggable barrier and just making them use it to cleanse caut then full healing them is exhilirating. i remember abusing mega pot in 2018 the week before they nerfed his potion size card, 10% was a small nerf but man having 50% felt crazy like you could heal through almost every wall in the game it was so funny. i would have 90% winrate on this talent if people didnt throw ranked games when they saw me run it no cap. so many tanks have those 25-30% rejuv cards under low hp that other healers just don't have the burst to really make good use out of as well, or some flanks as well (especially ones with crazy instant caut cleanses like evie iceblock, koga dash, zhin billow, moji barrier etc)
This % healing cards are useless, though. That's why nobody uses them. Once cauterize hits its peak, it becomes a wasted card slot and the game becomes more dependent on smart choices and skill.
@@davidmorales7371caut makes them better, rejuv is anti-antiheal. but the rest of the comment and the vid are about the strategy where you use barriers/mobility etc to stall cauterize for 1.5s then get full healed instantly by one burst ability so it doesn't matter late game
@ThePikeOfDestiny except it does matter, lol. What the hell? That's literally why the item store exists. To counter pick and counter the late game/game mechanics. The gameplay you're envisioning rarely happens in the highest of rank tiers. For every person cleansing cauterize, there is an aggressive flank or damage, pursuing them not allowing it. Watch any high-level content creator. There are many to choose from.
Really helpful comment! Been playing for like 4 months now and I still learn stuff. Didn't realize so many skills cleanse caut, very interesting to know. Definitely gona play this to my advantage now. For newcomers there is not alot of info available like this. Sometimes the skills lack the alternative details. Thanks for the info!
Only thing I'd want for the talent is to give it maybe a slight buff, nothing major like an extra charge or anything, but maybe even giving it a buff in it's range. I remember running it back in the early days and man it was so much fun, especially when the team knew you were playing and were able to group up nicely on occasion. Being able to properly damage *and* heal instead of being forced to fully commit with healing with combat medic is great with pip.
Lv 428 Pip main here. Mega Potion is perfect for double tanks. I also run that card which reduces potion's cooldown by 0.5 seconds. Shooting at the enemies builds up the ultimate as well.
Used to this because it was the only way to play pip heal before combat medic rework. Now i love playing it off Support megapotion, with lvl 5 for cd reduction on hit and less radius
I used to main mega potion because my aim was too bad to play combat medic, the truth is it's hard to get those healing numbers with mega potion so I stucked with combat medic for many years. Now with your video I might try mega potion again it seems fun!!!
Hey Andrew, ive recently started playing Paladins again and found I really enjoy support, could you possibly do a tier list or give me some suggestions. Thanks
He has made a top 5 support list for season 6 and a meta tier list overall for all champs. Seeing as there are not THAT many changes in s7 (especially to supports), it shouldn't be that much different from now. Also, in case you are playing on controller, they have announced they plan to reduce the aim assist for controllers. It shouldn't affect you on supports though. I'm not Andrew, but if you have questions, I'll be happy to answer them :)
At this point, Grover is top tier and everyone else is Viable if you know what you're doing, even solo Corvus has been putting out 100k with Dark Gifts
I played as mega potion pip and our tank said I was throwing because I picked mega potion instead of combat medic and sat in spawn the entire game. The other teammates agreed as well and it's one of the reasons I don't play pip. sometimes combat medic is not the right choice but people don't care. it was a casual match too :D (I would like to mention that every time I've played pip I've done more healing with mega potion than combat medic. I've never had an issue predicting where people are running or throwing potions to hit flanks whereas I have an issue hitting flanks with combat medic, which is why I don't play it)
Combat medic is ALWAYS a solid pick. But mega pot can work and I have had some similar situations where my team throws even before the game starts just because I picked pip as solo healer. And I am a pretty decent Pip.
I have to hard disagree with you here. This talent requires little mechanical skill whatsoever and a moderate amount of game sense. Most healers all have to deal with cauterize and require game sense. Megapot is basically another version of Grover. Also, while I agree that megapot does require skill, it requires skill from your teammates, not from the healer. Megapot is not played that much not only because of the coordination required, but because it is also map dependent. It's not surprising this video is made on Frog Isle... It is a pretty good talent and an insane better second talent. But as you said, combat medic is more reliable and overall a better healing talent. You do sacrifice damage for it, though.
Random ass question, but: As a big main damba myself, am I the only who thinks he need some love? My healing output with him is always subpar compared to other healers I play, but I got so much more time on damba. So Idk. Hishealing never feels punchy enough. I'm still playing him all the time lol
@@lovethepandainyou I’m working on getting him to 50 (doing this will all supps) and his healing output is NOT worth how difficult it is to play him. I think he just needs a overhaul/rework. And maybe some bumps to his numbers
@@joonyah8904 I just saw. They ARE buffing him next patch. Curious to see how it goes. I do really enjoy skill-based healers, but Damba just doesn't feel like you can squeeze that much out of him sometimes. I got the stuns and damage down for sure, but the healing, there's just so much I can do...
I think with Pip there is just too much room for error and easy to miss. Even if you’re skilled, sometimes the angles are just not in your favour, not to mention that you rely on your teammates to group up. I think he is just better as a dmg champ rather than a healer.
Hard disagree. Outside of Jenos or Corvus, Pip manages angles or walls better than most supports, and doesn't need to put himself in danger to do so. Also, Mega Potion, maybe, but Combat Medic does not require your team to hard group up to get value. Like, yeah, healing two teammates with a shot is nice, but I can also hit the tank, flick to the left to pot a flank through the wall, then flick back to the tank to heal them again. CM Pip is honestly hyper versatile with a ton of range. Also, most supports require your team to play around them. Furia needs line of sight, Grover requires you come to him, Lilith/Damba place down AoE heal pools; if your teammates don't understand how to appropriately play around their support, that's a human issue, not a support issue.
@@omnichaos80 Gotta agree on how well Pip takes angles. Yeah. His Combat Medic shots are easy aoe and his range with pot heals through walls from long range. Better than the majority of healers on these points by far.
shrewd move is not a good 1 pointer switch it out for escape artist. its easily the best 1 pointer. .4 seconds allows you to get 2 big jumps in. which is both a good escape skill. and a great repositioning skill also one thing nobody ever does with pip even though 100% you should be grabbing it as soon as you can. is BUY REJUV. its literally a game changer. getting blamed because your teammates sit in cauterize without rejuve. yet at the end i have 200k healing 60k+ damage. yet its always the pips fault because you couldnt buy rejuv
grover is a passive healer... you're a mobile totem... with a burst AoE heal and a ult AoE heal... it's a lazy healer that can focus onattack that's why so many healers just go ferocity with grover... I don't think it's a good thing that the best healer is a passive healer that can focus on offensive AA
aiming and timing a slow arcing manually-detonated projectile that only gets value when timed well? yeah. that's just pointing and clicking, dude!!!! treat megapot like that and enjoy your 200 healing per 7 seconds LMAO
