I mean, her attacks only seem to work half the time, even when looking directly at the player, so...is that just going to be less responsive? Cause I swear at times it felt like rng determined if you hit or not.
This just seems dumb to me. The entire gimmick of Kasumi is the lock on and curse stack system. If they reworked her completely to just be hitscan that would be fine but now we have this weird middleground where she has a range limit but no damage fall off and a targetting cone but it barely exists. Like at that point why not just make her hitscan? What's the point of a lock on system that doesn't lock on?
Devs have no idea what they're doing when it comes to balance changes. Kasumi was first designed as an anti-flank, but ever since they nerfed the shit out of her weapon so that it now fails to hit the target seemingly at random, she became a joke and one of the weakest champions in the game. Then they changed her into a flank, but it's obvious that her kit doesn't support that playstyle, so she remains weak. And now they're changing her primary fire to be even more restrictive... for what reason? As if she wasn't already garbage at this point ffs
Increase her range of attack both width and length (width not so much but definitely lengthwise), disable the missing attack animation, and have a part of unfinished business in base kit. The third talent can be a change in how her movement ability works. Like she can teleport back to the body she left behind causing an AoE that does something (slows enemies rate of fire, fears, lower damage or something) for 2 seconds and adds 2 curse stacks. Kasumi is a fun and good champion but her lack of movement capabilities and her ability to consistently hit enemies make it hard to effectively use her in my opinion.
Doesnt this just make her bad? Short range, missing is far more punishing than a normal hitscan, ramping up damage and it misses half the time. They should probably buff her range at the bare minimum now. edit: The video seems to prove my point. You missed like...50-60% of your shots. She seems unplayable now.
Yeah, her being worse to pick ability wise but easy to work with mechanically made her an easy comfort pick. Like with DPS, if I don't feel like trying too hard just spam Dredge. But I guess videogames are just heading to a point where everyone needs to be focusing hard to succeed, instead of just being allowed to have a chill time. I get it, its balanced and fair. I think 0 diminishing returns LTM would be fun and not super problematic. Like the Inara example, just don’t shoot her if she has all her DR cooldowns up and make her manage her cooldowns. If you’re a character with a bunch of ult charge then spam ults more often to deal with pesky tanks etc. the speed term would be super funny and cool. Other characters movement abilities and speed would also not be diminished and maybe if you’re having a hard time killing him try using CC and map hazards etc.
It would be cool but likely impossible due to resource limitations. Diminishing Returns are super baked in to the fundamental mechanics of the game and I imagine it's not easy to disentangle that.
You seemed to be getting slower when getting near Grover, similar to the Jenos situation. I hope they have some kind of debugging mode that shows your stats (including how fast you are currently and what effects are affecting you) to check stuff like that out.
I wich they would bring a third damage type... melee and reworking many champion with that "option" example for zhin... clicking would cause melee but holing down in an auto-attack would cause a range attack... so those abilities would be melee/direct melee would be area damage but close so wouldn'T be affected by AoE damage reduction... so that would allow to rebalance Grover, caspian, vora and such aswell... would be nice to have grover as a melee attack that heal allies... but just in melee range...
so following your logic ... reload animation cancelation on movement ability but to have the possibility of making savage tear and then llok away while the animation play... that's not ok?

The characters entire niche is that she's not supposed to take skill. She's perfect for people playing on console because console paladins has been terrible for years and still is. Just revert the changes to how she came out on release and add the 1st talent to her base kit. Make her actually fun to play and a casual champion to farm damage on. Tryharding is, and always has been the death of this game.

Kasumi isn't fixed until they make it where you target the hitbox instead of the center of the target
