If this isn't what you see It doesn't make you blind If this doesn't make you feel It doesn't mean you've died Where the river's high Where the river's high If you don't want to be seen You don't have to hide If you don't want to believe You don't have to try To feel alive Alive in the superunknown First it steals your mind And then it steals your soul If this doesn't make you free It doesn't mean you're tied If this doesn't take you down It doesn't mean you're high If this doesn't make you smile You don't have to cry If this isn't making sense It doesn't make it lies Alive in the superunknown First it steals your mind And then it steals your soul Get yourself afraid Get yourself alone Get yourself contained Get yourself control Alive in the superunknown First it steals your mind And then it steals your... soul
Who else remembers this song from the Road Rash video game? I wasn't a fan of Soundgarden yet when I heard it play on there. Quite a way to get introduced to a band.
Typical modern remaster, just compress it even more heavily so it clips when the mix gets busy, push the bass drum/vocals up too much and charge all the unsuspecting souls again for a shittier sounding version of what they already paid for. Original 1994 mix is better. Not as flat sounding even despite being heavily compressed for the time. Might sound OK in the car I guess... but other than that ugh.
Yeah, agree, but for example check out Fell On Black Days: Everything sounds, cleaner, on your face kinda mix. Yeah, maybe too much compression haha, seems too sterelized sometimes..like too clean for Soundgarden, but at same time makes me feel like this was recorder in this days, and that's good, 'cause now I can Imagine how a good band of todays should sound. In the end it's still good to hear a different mix for a change. :D Tell me what you think!
In comparison to this ua-cam.com/video/AwdjreJKggg/v-deo.html if that is the original mix, there is loads of clipping going on already. If you turn that up louder, it falls apart and distorts too much. For me the remix works better concerning "overload" in putting together very loud sources, which all Soundgarden Members surely provide 😊find it alot clearer sounding giving the ability to hear the different contributions better.

Alive in the Superunknown couldn't be anymore accurate.

If this isn't what you see
It doesn't make you blind
If this doesn't make you feel
It doesn't mean you've died
Where the river's high
Where the river's high
If you don't want to be seen
You don't have to hide
If you don't want to believe
You don't have to try
To feel alive
Alive in the superunknown
First it steals your mind
And then it steals your soul
If this doesn't make you free
It doesn't mean you're tied
If this doesn't take you down
It doesn't mean you're high
If this doesn't make you smile
You don't have to cry
If this isn't making sense
It doesn't make it lies
Alive in the superunknown
First it steals your mind
And then it steals your soul
Get yourself afraid
Get yourself alone
Get yourself contained
Get yourself control
Alive in the superunknown
First it steals your mind
And then it steals your... soul

I was struck by a female vocal band called Hammer box in that game.
And of course, Sound garden.

I love you Chris Cornell!
You cut off soul at the end and it hurt my soul. Delete these
why do the last few seconds get cut off in a bunch of these songs?

Remastering ruins albums
