Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
This movie was horrible. I watched the animated series, and loved it. The characters were depressing, the pronunciation of Aang (Ong) frustrated the hell out of me. Just terrible.
8/10 it was a movie with humans and they did well
-100/10
- 9.5
It didn't turn out bad, 7/10
One of the main problems with the movie was lack of symmetry between the martial arts moves and the bending effects. It was like the director simply told the actors to "do some martial arts moves". The anime always made sure the bending movements matched the elemental effects.
Exactly
I snorted when he did a kick @1:27
Yeah and they have change most of the story, aang does not mastered the avatar state while in this version he made into the avatar state by himself without the help of the water spirit
@@Xislexhahaha i laugh because it looks stupid
Not to mention, each of the four elements moves are taken from four real life martial arts forms. The creators gave their hearts and souls to the show, and it still resonates with audiences 18 years after it originally premiered
only good things i can say about the movie are the effects and the costume. That arrow glow is superb
Come on, the music was awesome too.
Agreed, cgi /visual affects was actually pretty good here for this movie for the most part (can’t ignore the rock earth bending scene ) the sound track was also great and I really did like the design of his arrow
Eso es lo peor
@@jacobtarter2237yeah everything is worse but the CGI & visual effects are great because this is a movie, not a series & I bet the new series CGI couldn't get better like this, because most of the series on Netflix CGI are worse, accept LOTR The Rings of Power, that show CGI & visual effects are incredible
@@norreanelucypadmencie5113 I bet you're surprised now and your jaw dropped seeing the series CGI/Visual Effects now that it's out! 😎😉
The film wasn’t that great but the musical work that went into it was utterly fantastic
The movie didn't deserve this music..
Well, if they don't turn it a bollywood movie it would be a great movie. This bending moves killed the movie. They are literally dancing around. Earth bending part was like a joke. And this part up there? it was actually can be made a epic schene but just like before dance killed it.

This scene was better than the netflix scene tho
@@kingtroop5486 ima be honest, this scene alone (not counting the entire movie, just this scene) is better than the entire Netflix adaption. now just imagine if it had better actors and a good story to back this scene up, it would break records and stand its own against other good adaptions like Netflix one piece live action.

Movie shit blah blah but that’s how his name should be pronounced. That’s the sound two As in succession would make.
😂😂😂
Despite the fact that the film turned out to be a complete failure, both the actors and the script, but this scene still gives me goosebumps... The director and the actor himself did their best, and the music that was chosen was simply magnificent, it’s a shame that they just abandoned the very essence of the film and shot something random, the ending was promising..
Agreed, some of the scenes were kind of ok, I just wish the rest of the movie wasn't so bad
At least the music during this scene was incredible, James Newton Howard did a great original score for this movie, despite it not being iconic like the original soundtrack.
Luckily they made it good when they made the live action series
The New TV series is actually good
Yes, the new TV series is really good. But the fight against the fire nation in this Cinema movie is better than the last episode in TV. More emotionaly and the music makes me goosebumps.
aang : throwing his dance moves
the water : gotja
I love how he raises that massive wave then gently puts it back down. Dramatically demonstrating that he can destroy them but chose not too. That is real power.
Me thinking if I can move my hands like aang I can become a bender
@@freddyfazbear7165😭💀
And it’s bullshit. In the cartoon, he obliterated the entire force. Here, he just aggressively politely pushes them back and they just leave.

But you gotta give the props to the kid who played avatar, fighting skills were good.
Bro was bout to pull one of those

Idk I thought the scene where he goes back to the temple to realise all the bones were the bones of his friends was petty up there.
I still think it was cooler when he merged with the ocean spirit and drove off the fire nation
No this is way cooler because it supports his idea of never killing before unlike in the original series
@@isaaclyonga565 no this is terrible just like this movie the ocean spirit was way better
@@isaaclyonga565 bro you dont think anybody died being hurled into the ocean?
@@isaaclyonga565 well technically the moom spirit killed them
Nope..the animation version was cooler..that nailed it
The tsunami bit is epic but the original avatar moment will always be the merge of Aang and the ocean 🌊 spirit
also the original avatar actually sends the tsunami towards them and pushes them at high speeds but this one he just kinda lifts up the water and drops it again
@@gabrielaguilar1062 To be fair this is more in line with what Aang would actually do, you know, the whole "not killing people" thing.
@@AndreyGP yeah but it was not aang who did all of this in the original cartoon, it was the moon spirit who took over aang's body
@AndreyGP
Yeah, except Aang’s in the avatar state. Do you not know what that does? There are hundreds of other avatar incarnations deciding on his every move. That’s why Aang was going to straight up kill ozai, before he snapped out of the avatar state. He does not have control when in that form, all of them do.
@@xrzezero But still, if you think in the ocean spirit you would think in something like this that truly shows the power of the ocean, a force nature that could definitely wipevout entire nations at once
The fishzilla could be any other spirit of a lake or something like that
This kid was such a good role for aang just sucks they didn’t get much right
You still haven’t said a valid reason you just said “it sucks it sucks”
Give me one valid reason for me to see what your point of view is on the movie don’t just say it sucks because it’s bad tell me why it’s bad and not with words like bad, trash, or sucks
@@Jordan-fn5rj the movie sucked in my opinion cgi was terrible it shouldn’t take 5 people to move a boulder. Mispronounced the names couldn’t even get that right and all they had to do was watch the show, that isn’t iroh and how iroh would portray himself annnnnnnd imo it was poorly executed could’ve done so much better I could live with the names being mispronounced if they actually took their time with the cgi and story development
@@ruminateog3889 Exactly. And if they couldn’t get the cgi right, then they should’ve had real, trained martial artists play the earth and fire benders, to really give it more oomph. Imagine if the movie had as much love and care as the show. Instead, the movie was just some quick cash grab by people who obviously didn’t love the source material.
@@Jordan-fn5rjthey white washed the entire cast except for Zuko who is for some reason Indian though the actor for him actually didn’t a decent job despite the god awful script. They remove the nuance and emotional weight from many scenes such as the scene with Iroh talking to Zuko as he sets off to try capture the avatar in the Norther Water tribe. They try to fit an entire season into a 1 hour and 40 minute movie. Firebenders for some reason can only bend from a source removing what made them such a wide expansive threat in the first place. They regularly mispronounce characters names and even in the word avatar. The choreography and cgi for the fights is painfully slow and nor does the choreography match the bending that occurs on screen.
@@ruminateog3889i recently saw that there are making a new movie rn
Some people don't like the moves aang executed to bend the ocean. I thought his kata was very fluid, beautiful and moving. Truly a great scene. Hats off to the choreographer and the actor.
At the very end, the actor deserves credit because you can see the weight of the responsibility he accepts by officially returning the bow by the expression on his face.
I honestly like this huge tidal wave so much better than the water spirit kaiju in the animation/Netflix shows. We see here Aang's bending skills as pure raw power, a force of nature, instead of just gaining size and strength.
I love this scene so much, his martial arts flowing with the tsunami he's creating, the music. The way the avatar state gets powered up
Flowing?
@@movifest9681i meant flows
Bro that is not martial arts that is called dancing because this movie did no research about any forms of that kinda stuff
The thing about this scene I like is even the Fire Nation Soldiers bow to Aang here showing not all of them are bad. The soldier with his helmet off looks like he’s about to cry like that’s not a killer that’s a soldier forced to a service he didn’t want
Yea because he thinks he’s about to get his head spun behind enemy lines
The glow was pretty awesome

This is the one scene I actually really like about this movie. This not only demonstrates Aang's power but also his role as a peacekeeper. I've always preferred this over the big water monster and I hope this is one thing they keep in the Netflix live action
I like this better too, it shows the godly power the avatar has.
@@aidenevans134 and a huge water titan isnt demonstrating that? i like the OG monster.
@@b__w_4565 It does, but my defense of the giant wall of water is that the ocean spirit mainly did most of the work. Possessing Ang by killing thousands of fire nation soldiers. The wave is more in Aangs character as he is more or less warning them, or threatening them, and giving them an opportunity to retreat on their own. Just my two cents
i agree
@@aidenevans134u do have a valid point considering throughout the series he’s portrayed as a pacifist pretty much and will only resort to violence if it means self defence. With that all said nothing is competing with the water monster I like seeing him in control whilst in the avatar state
Avatar here is standing on top of the fortress, which is already on top of really high mountains
The tsunami he creates is higher than the fortress
He tilts the wave over their ships , showing he can flush them out of existence with 1 splash
I don't care, this scene was so epic and i loved it.
This movie deserved a 2nd chance from this scene alone. The soundtrack and CGI were👌. All they had to work on was the writing.

At least that part the movie did right.
When I was watching the series, throughout the entire invasion I couldn't stop thinking "YOU HAVE DOZENS OF WATERBENDERS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN, JUST CREATE THE GOODAMN TSUNAMI YOU IDJITS!".
Haha I see what you did there Bobby 😉
Didn't they kill the moon spirit in the movie?? If they did, waterbenders don't have power at all. Only martial arts with no magical power to bend the element.
@@l.ch.6447 , as you can see, in the movie it's the avatar who created tsunami. Not waterbanders (who I wanted to do that in the cartoon, and I wanted them to do that the moment they noticed fire nation ships on the horizon), but "at least someone did that" xD.
I think the entire point of this scene was to display how much more powerful the avatar is vs even a large group of other benders.
u mean that an avatar can bend morethan others its like youre saying that it takes 100 water benders to bend half of ocean while it takes one avatar to bend the same amount. its avatar has an edge when it comes to how much can be bent?@@merlinathrawes746
little kick at 1:27 is a bit much loooool
The movie version is kinda scary compared to the animation. Aang in this one is kinda like a god, able to decide someone's like and death with one element. Imagine him dropping that tidal wave into the city or towards the ships😆
Aang character is a God, that is why this story movie is so awesome and great. He is an incarnation of the true Great One.
that's what make this scene soo scary...
Because this is what the avatar is supposed to look like to normal people, a bender able to control the sky , split continents , awake Vulcans , and cause tsunamis, this is beyond of terrifying, so much power in one hand , the good part is the avatar is in good side.
I enjoyed this scene so much more than the new one where he turns into a funny looking water spirit. I think had they replaced some of the cast members and improved the bending especially projectiles this movie would far outmatch the new one.
Netflix version is story wise 5x better, but I must give the movie some credit for this wave scene, this was epic af, I feel like the Netflix version went too far in Gozilla direction lol.
I agree , the Tsunami works so much better in Live action. It’s arguably better than the Koizilla altogether even in the cartoon.
Ang's katas are just...perfect.

Bruh that's what happened originally
It's interesting that in the scene in this movie where Iroh talks about Zuko being scarred and banished, they made it seem like he was burned trying to save Azula...which makes both that scene and this ending scene very confusing.
That film was a masterpiece and this actor was absolutely fantastic for the role. His biography was fitting perfectly too. A shame it did not continue. I would have loved to see Earth and Fire .... even as an adult he still looks the part. They could have made series with him to this day

@@sadiqahmed4143 Meh, the series is average anime poorly adapted for the Western market.
Actually I kind of prefer this version better than the original where he merges with an ocean spriit. That's one of those things that would work better in animation. Aang merging with a giant water spirit would just seem a little outlandish in live action. Also, this scene really helps paint an example of the kind of power Aang possses- showing him having complete mastery over water. Merging with the ocean spirit almost diminishes that in a way. Lastly, this maintains his pacificst nature. That ocean spirit monster was straight destroying people. This way prevents Aang from having to give up his morals. In a movie that missed the mark nearly the whole way through, this was the one bright spot.

The problem I have with all that is how many movements they make lmao. The dude is dancing the whole minute just to summon a big wave like come on😂😂
😆😆
The scene is overacted. And the final part of the scene is boring
I guess the dance is more about keeping the wave up and then slowly lowering it down, rather than just getting the wave up
Hard to say but this final part of Ang hits way better than the netflix adaptation. But only that last move tho, the tv show was overall way better!
I came here after watching the series of 2024. I like Avatar's tsunami action instead the ocean spirit rage scene.

Obviously you can’t top the entirety of the ATLA anime but one difference I like seeing, in this movie we see both the water tribe and the fire nation bowing down. I don’t know why but it just is more satisfactory and is more realistic, because like when you are faced with such raw power you don’t try to keep on fighting like they did in the anime. Though I do think that the meaning behind what we see in the anime is powerful so this twist and the original are both really good in their own way.

The word out about it,
The main reasons this movie is hated is because it's nothing like the TV show and they put the whole first season in one movie. If the show never existed and they still made this movie, what would people think of it? I mean there were other factors that made it bad, but would it be hated as much?
They are hardcore avatar fans I not surprised they would feel agitated watching this but me I don’t even give a f**k and I don’t care what anyone says because I find the movie very entertaining if they see it as an insult why don’t they write their own damn script and do their own damn cgi filmings
This movie is still poorly executed when it comes too action, acting, and storytelling. Even if we discarded the Anime aspects of the story, it would still be a story not executed properly.
