- This was my first ever experience on the MRT in Jakarta. This was a very pleasant experience and one that i would recommend for everyone coming to Jakarta. It was very easy, cheap and efficient !

those glass barriers are not only meant to stop people falling onto the track.
That is used to save the electrictiy used to power up the air conditioning system. Because, without glass barriers, the cold air from the air-conditioning system would easily flow/dissipate to the tunnel causing more electricity consumed to cool the platform area.

it's the government's effort to reduce private vehicles, and it's not easy, because of the culture of using private vehicles in Indonesia, it may take a long time to make people aware of using public transportation,
I hope Indonesia becomes better, and prefers public transportation, reduces congestion and pollution.
The security is there to ensure nobody is behaving like you did. Talking, and not wearing your mask properly.

@@lutandri1995 Inside the MRT, there is always announcement about the rules by the sound: to wear a mask, to keep the distance, and not to talk.
The announcement is both in Bahasa and English..
He just need to pay attention to the announcement :)
MRT is just for supporting role in Jakarta public transportation with 100k daily ridership, the backbone is KRL commuter line and TransJakarta BRT, with 2 million passengers combined daily ridership

3:45 About the rule, I still don't know why we can't talk even with our masks on when we're on the MRT, TransJakarta buses, Commuter Lines, etc 😂(as well as talking on the phone) - I only think is that the "health protocol and regulations" would want passengers to follow suit and in a way, to prevent the virus spread even worse

Since MRT currently only one single route, if you search high congested line, try KAI Commuter Line, departed from Satellite City of Jakarta such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.

The MRT Jakarta was on expantion to Ancol barat and they want to build 2 line the route of line 2 is Cikarang to Balaraja and the line 2 is arriving for 43 STATIONS! And line 3 from Fatmawati to TMII
Jakartans or everyone from greater Jakarta most likely prefer to choose Commuter Line Train (KRL) rather than MRT because cheaper and more massive. So Jakarta isnt the new player on commuting train yall. Basically KRL and MRT still the same things...
And if you say MRT just carriage small amount only 400k pass, nah KRL carriage passanger more than 1m per day. 1 vs 10 fairly good.

people dont really using MRT, because its still have short route and its also quite expensive compared to commuter line or transjakarta, and yeah try train commuter line, people are mainly using that

@@yourmatematt commuterline is my best recomendation, its cheap and pretty much cover almost entire jakarta, even surrounding cities, plus on some station you can still see some trace of its colonial legacy.

The MRT fare is not cheap for ordinary workers, so not many passangers.
Try TransJakarta. The fare is affordable and packed with passangers to see difference of public transport.

Beberapa orang asing yg dikasih masukkan utk mencoba MRT tp tdk memberikan informasi bahwa saat mau naik MRT dilarang berbicara. Kasian kadang bule2 atau turis asing lainnya ditegur sama security krn ketidaktahuan mereka. Sama kalo di suruh ke SCBD mereka sering ditegur sama security krn ambil video, walaupun ditegur dgn ramah sama securitynya tp ttp aja kurang mengenakkan. Lain kali kalo mau recomended suatu tempat hrs kasih informasi tambahan ke orang asing tersebut jgn asal suruh2 aja.
Maaf bertanya...dilarang bicara @ boleh bicara tetapi dengan perlahan2 @ tidak bersuara keras

Give it a time, the line is growing, it's going to be packed with passengers eventually. Try different local transports such as KRL Commuter Line and Transjakarta.
The City of Jakarta has just introduced integrated ticketing system. So you can ride MRT Ratangga, Transjakarta, dan Jaklingko minivan for max Rp10.000 within 3 hours. Unfortunately, KRL is not included, yet.
I have never taken public transportation in Jakarta. looks like fun want to try it someday 😂

The situation under covid 19 at that time was like a nightmare...Sorry if you found some inconvenience in Jakarta or other cities. Thank you & GBU.
The line of MRT is still short and only covering a little part of Jakarta. Thats probably why it still has low daily riderships. The city is still constructing next phases of MRT line, though. Actually there is also another railway public transport in Jakarta thats so called KRL Commuter line, covering 416 km area of Greater Jakarta with over one million daily riderships.

It's not that low actually, before the pandemic it have around 95000 people daily. It's just that the train is frequent enough that it doesn't feel crowded. Also if you ride it during peak hours, you'll eventually have to stand.
@@bltzcstrnx that's still relatively low considering the fact that Greater Jakarta is the second largest city in the world, just behind Tokyo. Most metro in big cities have daily ridership over ten millions.

MRT sudah cukup menunjukkan maju nya jakarta, hanya saja masih sedikit masyarakat yg memanfaatkannya, dan masih banyak yg memilih memakai kendaraan pribadi/ojek online.
Harapan nya lebih mengurangi ketergantungan kendaraan pribadi dan pemakaian sumberdaya terbatas/bensin, itu juga tidak luput dari peran pemerintah mengurangi masuknya dan penggunaan kendaraan pribadi, atau biayanya untuk memiliki lebih di buat mahal seperti negara maju lain nya supaya tidak berdampak macet parah { hanya saran } 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩😇
MRT is enough to show the progress of Jakarta, it's just that there are still a few people who use it, and many still choose to use private vehicles/online motorcycle taxis.
The hope is to reduce dependence on private vehicles and the use of limited resources/gasoline, it also does not escape the role of the government in reducing the entry and use of private vehicles, or the cost of having them is made more expensive like other developed countries so as not to have a severe traffic jam {just a suggestion} 😇🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Kalau rute lanjut ke Bodetabek pasti ramai penumpang yg lebih butuh transportasi massal cepat dan nyaman. Kalau cuma rute segitu aja itu spt pemanis saja.

Singapore is clean through out the country/city. Jakarta is only clean on certain area. Mainly the most prominent area. But our governor is doing a great job, and still working towards even a better jakarta. We cherish him.

Why no one says anything: Culture. Indonesia look to Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul as their ideal Mass Rapid Transit system. I believe it's considered rude in those countries to make a lot of noise in public transit. Plus, the more you speak, the more your spit + covid spread around LOL You are right! I was horrified at the state of subway in NYC. The rats running around... or swimming in black water when the station got flooded during hurricane Sandy was disgusting.
There are signs on the trains saying not to talk, it is part of the covid regulations.

Secara alamiah itu terjadi dengan sendirinya.
Only 14.000 people using the MRT is because right now there's only 1 line of MRT (Bundaran HI - Lebak Bulus), as many people live outside of Jakarta (in the suburbs) there's no point on using the MRT to travel from our house to work because it hasn't been connected to our home area yet. Maybe in the future when the railway gets expanded like the KRL.
