You know you got a cool job when you casually hop on UA-cam one day, and see videos in the recommended tab for a machine you helped build. There's certainly a sense of pride felt here today.
if you're in the left seat, you are restricted to left hand control only. that's the absolute dumbest thing i've ever seen in an aircraft. i watched a video of a very experienced and skilled pilot take off in the jet and he nearly clipped both wings when he rotated cause he had to do it with his left hand and at a 45 fucking degree angle at that. stupid. cirrus should be destroyed.
@@MrCrackheadst for the left seat, yes. but like you said, the stick is oriented vertically.. i witnessed a very experienced test pilot nearly crash the damn plane on his first rotation in it because up isn't up with that stick. it's ridiculous.
I like the parachute feature. You know you're not going to crash and burn in any case. If something malfunctions while in the air you know you're going home for sure. Very cool.
Not true..it's a very over-promised feature. Google the many times people have pulled it and either it didn't work or outside the very small envelope it deploys successfully. Essentially if you lose control and overspeed or plane is upside down - it's not going to work. It works well when you're high enough and have an engine out...slow down and then deploy. But then unless you're flying at night, an average pilot should be able to land successfully - with better odds of less damage to the airframe.
I enjoyed 4 years at Cirrus. Lots of fond memories and people I still think about often. I was fortunate enough to be trained by BRS people and installed the first production SR20. Nice to see Cirrus is still has their head in the clouds and moving forward. Hello to all of the old clan. Miss you
I am thrilled too see this finally come about. I saw and took pictures in a mock up in Las Vegas at one of the airshows and in Denver for a prelude. I expect it to be a most marvelous aircraft to fly and am looking forward to a test flight soon.
Just stumbled on this video by accident. Ah yes, Santa Monica Airport. Learned to fly there with Gunnel Aviation from 1977-79 (was only 18-19 years old then). Man that was a long time ago. Gave up flying in the late 80's because I simply couldn't afford it any longer. Great memories.
Cheaper than a pagani hyuara. You guys are going to kill the aviation market. Flying will now be safe. Well done ! Well done! Well done. You guys are a godsend to the aviation industry
Another good video on the SF50. It seems that all these videos have one thing in common, posters trying to grasp any little thing they can find to talk about how useless this thing is. It really cracks me up. I like the concept and design of the all VLJ's and there is definitely a market for them, and I think they are here to stay. I hope some day to be in the right place at the right time to take one for a Demo ride..
The engine exhaust is cooking the V-tail. To place an engine at an upward angle of about 20 degrees is inefficient because the vertical component will o ly push the nose down
I saw a several (at least three) Cirrus Jets taking off from Oshkosh in person and some on UA-cam of Vids of Oshkosh departures. Cirrus jets seemed to have low initial rate of climb... I don't know if they were heavy or the pilot had reduced thrust takeoff? Being single engine they don't need balanced field length and engine out climb gradients. Compared to other small light twin engine jets taking off, the twin jets got up and went.
Am I bad for making as much noise as is conceivably possible now when I fly out of SMO? Shorten our runway and I feel like reciprocating by shortening the sleep cycles of all our wonderful Santa Monica neighbors who've contributed so much to destroying our airport. Currently working with the Collins Foundation on getting their F-4 to do some low passes over the airport in full afterburner. Maybe about 5am in the morning.
Damn Neighbor-Nazis! Frenchy was being kind. I would've dropped bombs! Like we did back in '45. Those nosey neighbors on Elm St. didn't stand a chance.
I thought there was a threat from the Airport to be banned from the channel if you are not nice. Santa Monica - How about it? Actions speak louder than words - Carry out your threat.
There is a reason V-tails are not common. Seems a great idea on paper...less so in practice (all else being equal you would not want one...there is a reason you don't see a lot of them). Of course, they need one on this plane with a single jet engine placed where it is and that's fine. It makes sense for this plane and it works (obviously).
How much "cargo" could it carry if I took out all of the seats? And could it make it in a single hop from Colombia to Miami? And what is the radar cross section of the CFRP airframe to an X-band radar?
That's why I said "for me." For me, unless I have money to throw away, these don't make much sense. If I were to spend 2m on a personal aircraft, it would not be a VLJ.
Yeah so. Yeah so. Yeah so. Yeah so - we refer to that as a "studder pause". He really should endeavor to correct his studder. Also, this is one remarkable jet! The ONLY con is that the engine requires excessive standard maintenance.
@V. V Yes, but this type of thing is only for those that are pretty obscenely rich. To realistically own and operate something like this you would have to have a net worth of at least $25 million. Gotta make use of that money somehow!
On most planes with a yoke (wheel) the pilot sits in the left-hand seat and you manipulate the yoke (for elevators and ailerons) with the left hand - the right hand is for the throttle, mixture, flaps, landing gear, etc. So the stick being on the left is correct (most similar to the conventional arrangement).
You know you got a cool job when you casually hop on UA-cam one day, and see videos in the recommended tab for a machine you helped build. There's certainly a sense of pride felt here today.
I agree I work on the SR and it is wonderful
anna fry hello anna fry?? You a lady??
I would love to get my first ppl on this SF50.
Jesus Christ loll
Lady USA Lady. Is that your name ?
Such a beautiful aircraft. He is a great spokesperson too! Handled the rapid fire “so tell us about” questions like a boss.

@@carl-ok9gn wtf lol relax. Nowbody force you to buy their aircrafts.
@@MrCrackheadst i will not relax. a pilot's impression of an aircraft matters. this is a poorly designed aircraft.
@@carl-ok9gn doesnt all airbus have the joystick on the left side? Not in the 45° angle but still.

I would like to 3 analog back up gauges. Everything else looks like it was built by pilots. Perfection.
My guy is a master spokesperson, he transformed a question into a whole essay
and throughout the entire video without stopping, crazy
@@SilverBulletTrade Yeah
I got to fly in (and control for awhile) the 5000th Cirrus ever made. Beautiful aircraft!
Excellent demonstration and demo pilot. Clear and concise answers for a short rapid fire q&a session.
Best Cirrus Vision video to date. To the point.
Don Johnston j
Looks to be a great aircraft and Justin knows it well.
I recognize that callsign! I've talked to you on Denver Approach. Hope to see that thing in person sometime. What a great looking ride! Cheers
Unbeatable American aeronautical ingenuity and innovation which is proudly displayed by this lovely Cirrus Vision SF50!!!!
This jet is awesome. A jet that actually pays attention to cabin comfort and size
Pretty cool airplane they sold me with the parachute
Will USA what?

Great Video.
Thank you.
I don't know much about planes but damn this is so clean looking and almost looks like a new car interior. Super compact and High Tech.
I want that Cirrus, I love the parachute, its ridiculous more planes don't have the option!!!
More planes don't have the option because they don't need a parachute to legally fly. The FAA wouldn't certify Cirrus airplanes without the parachute.

Awesome video. Quick and to the point. Insightful. And thanks to Ken Goble for all the useful guidance and advice.
The Cirrus is beautiful!!
This is amazing. That cockpit (fuck no, I don't say flight deck) is cleaner than my car! No shit, that looks like a dash for a car. Crazy.
Cool jet for sure , learned to fly at KSMO in 78.
This spokesman should be an advocate for adarol. So on point with his answers.
Cirrus SF50 : I love this aircraft. I often fly with it on X-Plane. I am aircraft and ultra light aircraft pilot.
Nice
Nice clean simple practical layout
One of those buzzed my house yesterday! It was bright yellow and loud. Grandma's teeth fell out and her cats trashed the house!
He makes it seem so easy to fly makes me want to go out a buy one today and go for a spin
Many thanks, haven't seen one in Australia yet so would an interesting insight..

there is probably only one thing to say here: Awesome!
Beautiful Aircraft Love at First Sight
I really want to fly the Vision Jet. It's so cool!
If I ever have a few million bucks to spare, I’d love one of these little jets!
Awesome, about time someone came out with this.

Cirrus Vision jet piece of schit. Can't believe it received the Collier Trophy Award.I have designed the best single ,twin and tri jet in the world
Perfect setup for a millionaire family. I wish one day...
Millionaire won't cut it. For me, if I were to own a VLJ, I would have to be worth close to a billion. Maintenance costs of jets are no joke.
You don't need to be a billionaire to own a 2 million dollar plane that costs $600 an hour to run.
That's why I said "for me." For me, unless I have money to throw away, these don't make much sense. If I were to spend 2m on a personal aircraft, it would not be a VLJ.
If you have a soul or conscience you will NEVER become a millionaire
this is an entry level millionair IMHO... next step is honda jet for me
unique means “one of a kind.” Something can’t be very unique, nor can it be extremely unique
Man I would love to have one
Unbelievable looks like a car inside these days ...I want one :)
I love this jet I which I can own one may one day.
That was the parachute in the first production SR20. That's what happens when you type with your mittens on.

surprisingly big inside !
Oh,I can smell the lovelly newness,of that little beauty,if only I could Winn the lottery ha.
Really love the Gen2!!!
Happy anniversary
Seat sliders are a good design.
Omg. I flew my first plane here with a Santa Monica aviation teacher
Like it, lt will be game changer. Nice plane ❤️. 👍
Nice. It protects it's self from going too much over unity!
If I could afford it I'd want him to sell it to me.
M B You can get one for 1.7 million dollars I think.
2 mil i think
M B it’s really cheap
It’s about 674$ per hour which is nothing so economical

They try to make it seem new and unique and interesting, but it looks like an HE 162, which is fine by me, because I like both.
thinking what kind of company i need to start in order to use this and write it off
I guess the Cirrus Vision can land on the shortened runway at the SMO airport.
I honestly don't see how something so small could cost so much. Either way it's a very nice aircraft.
I love the SF50.
But why no Cirrus Spectra wingtip lighting on the jet?? It'd look amazing!
Wonderful
So COOL...!!!
I thought a plane would be bigger but this looks just like a fast car
I kinda like that
Speaking as somebody from the middle USA... this could do almost any mission I could think up. But I wonder if they will do a higher weight version.
I like yoke or center stick, the side position seems a bit getting used to
Damn the cockpit looks as simple as a damn car
Wasn't the V-tail aircraft called the Doctor or Lawyer killer? Really need to be experienced to fly.
You can’t remove anyone to the channel
But I love this aircraft it’s so cheap to fly and I might even add this one in my hangar 😉
Actually, it is not cheap to fly.
Geebax2 yes it is very cheap cheaper than most other aircraft’s it’s very economical and just cheap in a good way
Just for that parachute I think it's worth the 2m price tag.
Kai-Zer Inc. absolutely
wow most people are right handed seems like the steering controls would be on the right not left, interesting.
There is a side stick on the left, either go ahead and use that or learn how to fly left handed.
On most planes with a yoke (wheel) the pilot sits in the left-hand seat and you manipulate the yoke (for elevators and ailerons) with the left hand - the right hand is for the throttle, mixture, flaps, landing gear, etc. So the stick being on the left is correct (most similar to the conventional arrangement).
wow cirrus sf-50
Looks amazing!. Wonder what the running costs work out at ?
oh very nice video
The SF50 has the same vent covers as my F-150 ahahaha
TOTALLY COOL
3:15 can I trade in my 2005 Sienna for one of these???
What's the latest on how long KSMO is going to be around? It's a great airport with a great location for cool aircraft like the Cirrus.
Amazing plane. Fly car.
Does this fly on compressed air and lithium batteries like the Hondajet!!
Awesome! I hope i could buy it someday and bring to Russia. This is a dreame for me since now...
Okay I would like 2 plz. (wait...gotta go get a lotto ticket, i will be right back)...
One of my favourite planes in X-Plane xD
Julian it’s one of the worst tho it’s the free plane xD the paid planes are so much better with speed brakes and reverse thrust
I was sad to learn this airport will be closing.
Hometown of "Denver ColoRODo". Probably NOT his hometown. Great walk through though.
7:15 WTH is hundred and oneth ? 😂
Nice Jet!
The most I have flown is a glider and an old Chipmunk. I am right handed, not sure if I would be comfortable with a stick in my left hand
