No fishing knot suffers as much strain as a braid to leader connection knot.
Poorly tied or bulky knots will catch and wear on the rod guides, eventually breaking.
Good connection knots are small and flat, ones that will easily pass through guides with a minimum of fuss.

Once you get used to this tool its a lovely little tool to use. I catch kingfish on this knot and it holds.
The knot doesn't look like much , but it holds for a 10 minute fight with a legal kingi

it definately ties a double uni knot which in my own testing is a pretty good but not the best. Best one for PE to mono is the FG. Just learn to tie a knot and stop buying things that you dont really need unless you are incapable to tie a knot. In that case go for it

FG knot is an abbrevation for fine grip whereby the shockleader has no visible knot with the braids. The knot size is reduced compared to other jointed knots like the albright knot used during surfcasting which has an overhand knot involved. The overhand knot used increase line diameter and cause impact and maximised friction with fishing guides.
FG knot uses braid is wrapped around the shockleader. The wrapping ends with an almost non-visible knot. It is designed for smooth line flow using fine knots.

FG is the best knot, cause the pulling strength is evenly distributed over a wider length of the line and doesn't make a harsh winding at any point under load. So there is no real weak point left.

I tie double unis mainly and use this when I’m too lazy and just want to make a quick change on the river. 100% not a double uni just a heads up. I have no idea what the knot is called but it’s good enough lol
