Dude you are the most comprehensive kick boxer. I've learned more from you in 3 months then I did in 10 years of martial arts

It's funny how intricate kickboxing is when a fight could last or end in a second with one punch

I've seen Masaaki Noiri use that front heel kick quite effectively. It seems to be popular in full contact karate contests

Been watching Gabriel for more than a year now, love and appreciate Gabriel so much because he really just makes these very digestible videos and puts them on UA-cam for us to learn from him for free when even the gyms and coaches you pay to train with will hold back all this information from you even a year into paying them

Catch people with that jab, jab, hook so much. As a bigger guy I need that quick low energy combo especially sparring smaller faster guys. Then when they start preparing for the hook, jab to the face and land them low kicks.

Now these are some amazing setups for sparring Gabriel, I will definetly be sure to try out all of these on the bag and in padwork first, before executing it in sparring and I think the one I will implement to my arsenal is the low kick and the punch feints and this content is gold in my opinion! 🎉

Love these, i thought you might have included the step through jab where you switch into south paw, i love hitting people with that because i dont mind fighting southpaw.
Looking forward to trying that front kick and low kick

My boxing coach used to teach that very long lead hook as the most elementary hook variation with the arm so slightly bent that it could almost pass for a straight punch. And he'd always point out and mock us for closing the distance too much just to throw that more closed variation of the hook. And to this day jab->looong lead hook is one of my absolute favourite combinations to throw, especially against non-boxers ('cause I transitioned to muay thai and also spar with kickboxers and karate practitioners sometimes)

Can you do a video on boxing angle cutting? Sometimes kickboxing exchanges devolve into boxing so how do you get the edge in that

I wish this content had been around sooner. Gabriel Varga breaks everything down into easy to understand fundamentals, and then composes the basics into world-class level, in a world where people overthink these things

Is the close rear front kick supposed to be going straight to the front or diagonally from the right to left ?

    As Bruce Lee said:
‘Before I learned the art, a punch was just a punch, and a kick, just a kick. After I learned the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick, no longer a kick. Now that I understand the art, a punch is just a punch and a kick is just a kick. The height of cultivation is really nothing special. It is merely simplicity; the ability to express the utmost with the minimum.'
Those things should be fairly obvious because it should be taught from the get go. "Thumbs up or thumbs down" is just for very beginners. You isolated it to teach it. But nothing is isolate, it's a continuum, a gradation. The Wing Chun straight punch is a straight punch for close range. You can go form one to the other (much like Jackie Dempsey taches i his book). A hammer fist can be used as a straight punch in even shorter distances. Or you can use the elbow or even the forearm for the same purpose. Anything that go to the nose/jaw.. If you know the "circular kick" in kung fu or he "spur" in Bokator and a teep or front kick you realize that the kick taught as the first technique is just something in between. One flows to the other with few adjustments. Like Samart Payakaroon would combine the teep with the inverse kick. "The best punch is the punch that fits'.
