Sackboy: A Big Adventure is finally coming to PC and with it are the possibility of mods! Can this be the 3D LittleBigPlanet experience we've been hoping for?

Okay, but who's modding in Bob-omb Battlefield day 1?
We already have mario 64 modded into the game so it would not take long
and also the person who modded mario 64 into the game got custom levels working
The lbp break sound for the censor is great 😭
yeaaa my thoughts exactly
Lip 3d seem alright
It’s nostalgic and hilarious. God the amount of times i’ve heard that sound. That and the ‘plub’ when you place something
lmao it is

Here's the thing with mods: Sony really doesn't care what you do as long as it's not illegal or you don't make a direct profit off it.
So as long as it's free and doesn't have suspicious files, it should be fine.
I hope this is the first step of porting all LBP games to PC. Imagine the things we could do in LBP 3 on PC
could maybe make sony realise how beloved the franchise is and they might push for another new one
@@oof3821 tru
Literally will never happen. The amount of effort that would take would be enormous. The games were built specifically with the PS3 and PS4 in mind.
Use RPCS3 with a private server. That's your LBP PC port.
@@polar-star64 The PS4 version is possible. Because PS4 and PS5 run on a similar code infastructure, (X86).
But... It is highly unlikely for Sony to port it. The PS3 games on the other hand.. Absolutely not.
Sony would have to remake them entirely to support the new infastructure.
@@HippyDipps While you are correct in the fact that it would be exponentialy easier to port due to being made on similar architecture, the point of it being made laser focus for PS4 still proves as a massive challenge. Most games these days like Spiderman PS4 for example, are made with the idea that a PC port could be possible, and build the game with that in mind.
Sure LBP3 PS4 to PC wouldn't be impossible impossible, like PS3 games, but the point is still that they were developed with no flexibility and still will be a massive undertaking. One that Sony does not want to spend the time and money on. If LBP 3 were to have gotten a PC port, it would've been many years ago. They're certainly not going to port a game with literally no development team.
Now, a from the ground up LittleBigPlanet game made with completely new code, definitely could be possible.
My first thought: SHARK SURVIVAL IN 3D!!! there's definitely gonna be a lot of those. OH AND IMAGINE people who try to recreate classic community levels from past games. Like imagine Bora Bora Island or something like.
That would be incredible, I wish I could play all those levels of 1 and 2 that were super well done.
I remember there were levels of survival on an island, mario party, final fantasy type rpg, bank robbery, surviving zombie macaques, bomb survival etc.
Bora bora island omg 🥺🥺🥺
**SACKBOY A BIG ADVENTURE WILL NOT HAVE MODS**
here's why:
as someone who modded spiderman ps5 on pc massively and also modded fallout, skyrim and many other games. spidermans modding tools are not great. the tools are very limited. making a custom level in spiderman is almost impossible. if not completely impossible.
i doubt that anyone will be able to make a custom creator for levels.
look at the outer worlds for example who said straight out they would be adding modding support. they just didnt. so the community had to make them themselves. and because we as people dont have the source code to these games creating something that can directly communicate with the engine is almost impossible. the reason is highlighted by spidermans the lines between what we can do with modding and why that matters is as follows:
we can modify things in the game
we can extract things with unofficial tools and very scantily add them back.
we can then edit audio libraries but even that takes ages and a program used from 2008
here's why this is significant.
the mods for spiderman pc dont add anything. your not actually doing anything to the game.
they never do they simply tweak whats already there
its like trying to explain to a french person what an apple is when you dont speak a word of french.
as you dont speak a word of french you cannot expand his vocabulary.
but if you were to hold up an apple he knows what that is.
this is why its easy to lets say. manipulate the apple and tell the people around us. THIS APPLE IS A PEAR! and now everyone who speaks english knows its a pear. where as the french mans view doesnt extend that far actually still thinks its an apple. and so, treats it as such. with no knowledge that a change happened
little big planet will have some reshade. retexture. music replacement. and some goofy mods with maybe some skip cutscene easy mods and things like that. maybe even a skip psn login mod. but other than that. i think thats as far as we will be able to reach as someone who cannot speak of the language the engine is in. as we dont have the source code. and we wont ever get the source code. not even leaked.
another example to this is garry's mod and their support for the tardis from doctor who. the question often comes up. how do you get the tardis to look bigger on the inside?
if what i said why would a modified half life engine game support some sort of portal mechanic when half life doesnt
and this is because that engine was also modified for portal 1. meaning the portals can be tapped into because valve added it. but try to add portals to half life one before the modification its impossible.
Yeah but this game is made in unreal engine, so it will be easier to mod.
@@usgovernment182 sadly not really true either. Cause the engine may have some capabilities that we could harness. But every unreal engine game is completely compressed into an exe format. Which after that point is basically untouchable. Unless you have the source code.
This is why most GitHub’s give the program they make and the source code. So people can modify it. Without the source code. We won’t be able to do anything.
And unreal engine is surprisingly unmoddable
If you want examples look at Jedi the fallen orders mods… it’s all the same as Spider-Man. Just re textures and modifications
When I say engine I don’t mean the engine the game is made on but the fundamentals of the engine the exe is comprised of.
It’s kinda like with my analogy going “hey that French man doesn’t understand this apple being a pear but THIS German guy will”
They both still don’t speak a word of English 😂🤷♂️
Now that the games released I hate to say I was correct 😂
@@mateOriginal I can admit when I am wrong. All I see is exactly what you and others were saying. simple, surface level mods. I am very upset about this. I hate you for being correct. In the future, I'm gonna need you to not be right.
@@usgovernment182 I’m glad the us government cares about little big planet 😂
But I want to be wrong. Sony needs to prove me wrong for the sake of us as a community
I always thought it would be a fantastic idea to add LBP to pc! Especially the level building features! Hopefully this port will lay out the pieces necessary for an official LBP pc game in the future!
Sackboy for PC is gonna be sick! Modding this game will be exciting!
Also SABA was announced on my birthday which was pretty coooooll
You my friend have gotten me unimaginable levels of hype for a simple PC port
I think the best chance we have at a proper LBP on PC right now has to be Restitched, It's not 3D but'll hopefully be everything LBP2 or 3 was and then some.
I like the way you think and I'm glad you made this video as I had no idea that the game was being ported over.
Do you think an OFFICIAL level editor might be coming in a future update? That would make me 100% buy the game and I think it would be a good addition for players who already completed the game
THE ODDSOCK PHOTO
man I hope so
I didn't even know it was out until today because of this video lmao
but also, you just got me to go finally finish saba, ever since not playing after the first like 5 days and first couple of your streams, so thanks
My favourite part of LBP is Sackboy himself, the costumes and the characters.
So tbh the lack of level creaton doesn't matter to me. I'm just happy to see Sackboy again.
Also personally. I don't think all these games should come to PC.
I don't understand the hate for PC
Sure it's no longer a PlayStation exclusive...
But who cares?
@@Mewtwo_150 Ive never seen PC in a good light. It seems a pointless way to play games compared to consoles.
Most games need a powerful PC to run which can cost a lot. Also I don't understand how people can play games with a Keyboard and Mouse and controller support is sometimes there but not all the time.
Also I don't see why graphics matter so much. Sometimes games and their companies focus too much on graphics rather than actually making a fun and replayable experience. But that's not just PC but it's also consoles now too.
@@SuperRosie39 I guess I can understand that
But this isn't about the game, it's about the players. A game needs people pumping life into it in order for it to be considered a success in today's world.
@@SuperRosie39 fair complains, however, you are not paying for pc players parts or using their periferials, why does it matter to you? aren't you still playing in console the way you like?, if you don't want your favorite game on more platforms you just don't want to share it.
ironic how LBP was about sharing
@@SuperRosie39 A lot of these things have been debunked at this point and this just isn’t true. A modern PC that costs the same as a modern console is going to run much faster and give you better graphics already. That’s ignoring that you can go EVEN cheaper and still be at the level of a console. And if most games needed a powerful PC to run, how do you think they’d be running on your console? Most performance issues in triple A games come down to poor PC porting than any actual problem with PCs as a whole, and for that you should complain to greedy developers.
Also people can play with a mouse and keyboard easily because they’ve practiced, it doesn’t just come instantly.
this mentality that some have where they think PC players should be excluded just because THEY don’t see the appeal is really dumb honestly.
As for focusing on graphics, who doesn’t wanna play a really pretty game when it’s done well?? why would you want things to stay low quality?
well... by nature, the wait for a new lbp is never too bad cos you have the previous one entertaining you without end (expecially if you like to create levels and not only play em)
I've been a loud mouth for awhile about putting LBP on PC with full Steam Workshop support. If Sackboy on PC is the next step towards that, so be it.
I think that there will be a LOT of good mods for SBABA. Custom levels, custom costumes, maybe even a mod will release that will add a create mode to the game with its own library of UGC. However, I think the closest thing we will as a LBP game on PC, is a game that is being worked on by a group of developers, (Trixel Creative). The game is called Restitched. It will have Steam Workshop support and user generated content, but they said they didn't have plans for multi-player for that game at the moment, that they would like to implement it in the future. Great video!
I heard that there was a special mod for unreal engine that makes the game your playing playable in VR, like looking around the 3D environment. That would be cool with this game, might see things you're not supposed to see though.
I just stared playing little big planet 3 by streaming it to my pc and boy the memories was rushing to me I hope they make another little big planet.
As a person who is modeled multiple unreal engine games before and this game is also unreal engine. This game will be super easy to mod in fact, I’ve already added some custom stuff
If I could go back in time to when I could play little big planet and black ops 1 and 2 I would cry so much I was so happy during that time
Umm
LBP Karting Retrospective, who wants it? (Me at least)
The Progress Emporium and The Space Bass were my favourites because of the level themes like in the former there were these masterpieces (I don't remember some of the names)
-the aircraft battle arena thing
-the breakfast THING battle arena
-World's Fair in Love and War (which is the only name from that world that I remember by English)
-the timed race to the copter where there was rotten food
-the most forgettable opening level of all the LBPK worlds
BTW I am a Finn and grew up playing LBP and now I am in my (I play InFamous Second Son, SuperHOT and Dreams at my leisure) years.
I have the exact same reasoning as to why I love saba coming to pc!
I may just re get Saba on pc just so I can mod the game
I hope there's Mod Support for Sackboy on PC
Mandatory Thomas the Train mod will be out a day after release at the latest.
I've been debating modding in a level editor into the game, given I have a little bit of experience with UE5, but I'm not entirely sure if I can actually mod in a menu like that, so worst case scenario I would just have to make a 3rd party application with all of the resources/materials and all that to be able to easily drop/mod the levels into the game with no hassel, then have like the hub and all that just in a discord server or on nexus or something like that to make things a little easier, and also to not spend money on it because I'm broke.
honestly though if anyone's interested in this kind of thing let me know and I can try it out, I know I am, I'm just not super experienced with it, not quite enough to know how to do it immediately, but putting in the work to make it sounds like fun, and could lead to one of the best and most amazing little big planet games ever.
oh boi its already starting, there is already custom costumes
I'm definitely gonna wait until I know how easy mods are to make and play before I get it, and maybe when there's a sale. A single linear story campaign isn't worth $60.
Ok
impressive
it would be so insane to see a lbp3 port to pc, i really hope sony picks up their trend to do pc ports
IS THAT MY RENDER IN THE THUMBNAIL
Wait, really!? I just assumed it was an official render so I just used it lol. I'll be sure to give you credit in the description.
You should make a video of the small youtuber "Toru the red fox" who is making his own LBP Hub game. I saw him comment 10 days ago on a video that he is still working on it after years.
AHHHHH YESSS I LOVVEEEE THISSSS AHHHH
Facts
How about restiched?
LBP 3D is basically Dream PS4
All we need right now is lbp4 live service game crossplay mods included for all it would be a dream it would expand the realm of possibility for every one who plays 😢 just a dream I suppose
you should use the popit sounds as the censors
Game is great anyway. Peaceful with interesting graphics. Worth to buy and play.
This game has the best villain in the series in my opinion
It absolutely sucks. It’s so stupid cringe and lame.

Man, Sony should relaunch the first 2 games of LBP,, it would be amazing to revisit the original story and have the customization and fanbase levels back, I really can`t think of a single reason for them not eventually doing it
What if they merged sackboys adventire with dreams once there is “enough” user generated content, allowing dreams to be the creative mode to sackboys game
i have never played sackboy a big adventure, i LOVED little big planet 1, 2 and 3, 1 and 2 especially hold a very special place in my heart, but i never played a big adventure as i LOVED creating levels and playing levels created by others, i may give it a chance now its on pc, but probably not!
You don’t love with your heart you love with your brain. Your brain is where you think and where are you experience feelings. It’s scientifically impossible to love with your heart.
@@Texan_christian1132 bro wtf are u waffling on about ??
@@santiklingo you said it holds a special place in your heart. You can’t hold a special place in your heart. It’s your brain where you experience emotions. So you should’ve said it holds a special part in your mind.
yeah, they were hoping it would do good because it had "littlebigplanet" on it
I'm just waiting for the dreams pc port, they always said they wanted to do it
?
Ngl, ugc was never the reason i played lbp, i only actually started playing games online by the time 3 came out. The 1 thing that is stopping me from trying out sba is that the charm that made the original games so iconic was completely traded in for i high budget 3d landscap that, although is reminiscent of the original games' lacks the 'lack of polish' and 'improvised' design which can never be topped
I'm hyped, never did get around to grabbing a PS4/5, and now I can play it again.
I like the idea but I'm not too sure it'll happen. Those Spiderman and God of War mods just changed the game visually or were minor gameplay tweaks, nothing like custom maps , unless the games actual tools get released I don't see something like what your thinking happening, I would love to be proven wrong though of course.
The difference is that this is a LBP game. So the type of people who are interested in modding it will have a whole different mindset than the type of people who modded Spiderman and god of war. There's already a desire for those in the LBP community to create levels already, seeing as it was like 50% of the whole point of the older games in the first place.
@@usgovernment182 I was just about to say something similar
I always saw Dreams as LBP4.
If only T^T but the lack of multiplayer and an actual story mode i feel like kept it from it
I just want LBP4 and the ps3 trilogy remastered.
If only it was 3d little big planet 4.... unfortunately it definitely is not. Would be amazing if we could make and share custom levels but they dropped the ball
yes. But what does dropped the ball mean?
@@Texan_christian1132 drop the ball

INFORMAL•NORTH AMERICAN
make a mistake; mishandle things.
"I really dropped the ball on this one"
@@clockworkNate oh.
Hello!!!
I've heard that for Steam Deck games, about 95% of the work is just assuring that the game works with a controller, so I think it's safe to assume that the game is Steam Deck verified
Interesting
Sackboy mod support huh
A quick fix of the "I don't wana get banned for using mods on multiplayer" is simply making a custom server only for mods
You could make your own server or use someone else's. just like, ya know, Minecraft because it uses the same idea with the MC realms and user made servers.
Edit: Yes I am getting the game on steam when I get a better PC. I don't want to lose all the modding magic.
I don’t see why you should get banned.
fans of this game are really, REALLY passionate about this little big planet game… I just knew about this franchise and I don’t get why do y’all really want a little big planet 4? I mean isn’t there like a 3rd Game??
Sack boy suuuuuuperrrrrrr
Im picking up sackboy a big adventure because I am not waiting to get my hands on a PS5
its also on PS4
while i wont be getting the game as i dont have a pc myself i am happy that the community might revive again, while its still alive fhe game has slowly faded away over the years especially with lbp3 and then this game that was slightly dissapointing
there's restitched btw.

"lemme put the needed specs on screen to show how strong your PC needs to be" Bro you're telling me a fucking 1060 build is more expensive than a PS5. You're out of your mind
im not because i have no money for the game or a PC capable of handling it
yeah, but its made by sumo. i dont have much confidence in it. If it was made by media molecule, i would be excited.
ill buy it $60 and all if i see them modded community pop off
I hope Sony will be fine with adding mods into the Sackboy a big adventure for PC
It doesnt really matter because you can throw mods in regardless, like with spiderman
Oh
So cool but I RONT HAVE A FUCKEN 2000 PC
Me neither
hello
yes pc cost more but the the cost of games help
Also, we have the Coming soon sackboy Nenderoid figure, and the mobile game. I think sackboy might be able to make a return, or atleast a small re-appearance
What mobile game,if that's real then I'm so hyped
@@darealepic it is called ultimate sackboy, but it softlaunched only in very select few countries and is still in early dev / early access, search it up on youtube for more info on it.
@@AdditionalPixel I saw it a few days ago, kinda disappointed that it's a runner game but hopefully this opens a new era of PS mobile spinoffs
early?!?!?
I bought sackboy on the day of release and never played it.
Me to!
omg , SACKBOY IN FORTNITE?!?!?
This game is great...but nothing like Littlebigplanet
No. It sucks. It’s so cringe and lame.
out of all games this is what they bring to pc :(
i don't feel comfortable with lbp on pc
To me sackboy was a serviceable avatar, but nothing more, sackboy isn't LBP and the fact that the game is called Sackboy with the TM on steam makes me sure we won't see more of little big planet, at least officialy, I do hope I'm wrong about this.
Now about the topic of the video, to expect people will mod the pc version to make it about creativity again is far too optimistic, modding is very complicated and most of the time lacks the support needed, one thing is adding more stuff to a game, replacing assets or unlocking dev mode, but adding whole new levels is too much work for an average player and unless some giga chad develops a tool that smooths that process it won't happen.
Yeah, other ps4 games ported on pc have mods already but nothing that changes the game that much. Just to be clear I would totally love the idea of a true LBP successor on pc, but I can't expect this from modding a 3d platforming game that is clearly bulit in one way and one way only, as an unreal engine enthusiast I pretty sure it should be possible but also I believe it would be somewhat easier to remake it from the ground with a level editor maybe.
wait theres no ugc? pass
No creative mode, no chance
Yes
This is the whole reason why I didn't get this game
I would seriously not hype yourself up for Sackboy mods. It is exponentially difficult to create fleshed out mods for games that actually have modding tools. Sackboy will have 0 official modding tools so the community will have to pick up the slack and that is such a far reach. Custom skins? Probably will happen. But full on actual levels? Absolutely not. The effort required to do that, let alone make tools for other people to use and do the same this is too tall of an order. This game will not have a blooming modding community because of that alone.
All the games you mentioned having great mod support are all games that gave official tools or just straight up the source code.

I got a sackboys Big adventure and when I discovered there is no player generated content I immediately regretted getting it. The game was lame and stupid and my mom happen to be doing a yard sale so I gave it to her to sell it.
only based texan
It’s sad how sackboy is literally lonely only and mostly with his own people where’s Swoop, Toggle And Oddsock, The Only Person He Has Is The Adventure Lady, I miss them all but no LBP 4. :(
I really doubt this game will have any mod support apart from a few costumes maybe. Full blown levels? More than likely not. There are no official mod tools and mods are tedious to make for the majority of people. I think this is Sony just seeing if a more family friendly IP would sell on PC. But I would not get my hopes up for mods for this game.
i dont even care about lbp4 just give lbp1 and 2 on pc
Ur the Minority
this is my main issue. complete 3D for LBP hasn't been appealing to me as the core gameplay since experiencing LBPKarting. 2D is just better aesthetically for our lil sackpal, IMO.
tack onto this that it's releasing on Steam for $60? nah, I'll skip this one and wait to give Restitched a try when it releases
Nope lol. 600 players on launch day 😂 what a flop
Dislike for censoring the swear words
