400m hurdles is about step patterns. Also, it takes years to become good at the hurdles. She should follow the Gabby Thomas model. Only run the 200m in competition but run enough 400’s to get on the 4x400 team. Just like Gabby, she can run both relays.

She isn't switching to hurdles this late in her career. She ran a 22.03 at USA's. That would have made the Olympic finals. She just happens to come from a country with a ton of sprint talent. I expect she should be sub 22 next year.

TIME don't win races, winning does. Some races are slow, some are fast. The point is can she consistently win? And the answer is NO.

What Abby Steiner should do is give it up. She is not making the Olympic team in 2028 and she be 4 years older. Can we stop it already with the Abby videos it was all hype that’s it.

*Abby had 2 minor (elective) surgeries, most peps dont even get surgery on bone spurs. But if you do your up and walking within 4 days. Ana Crockwell had 2 major surgeries, had to take 2 years off running and bounced back and became an Olympic silver medalist. Abby dont got it, her and her cosches cherry pick races for wins, but when she runs against top tier talent she gets her back blown out!*

I'm thinking that Abby is suffering from her body's capacity for training. My wife was a great distance runner. A race needed to be at least 15 K for her to really compete. But her body broke at about 70 miles per week of running. Competitors were capable of 100 to 120 miles per week. So, she could never break through. Abby is always injured. She has a choice. Find a coach who can get her to the top with lower training load. Or, accept that you cannot compete at that level. I just met with my trainer. He asked me what I wanted from him. 'Your job is to keep me from injuring myself.' Abby needs that.

Steiner was coming off a serious injury and ran a time at the trials final (22.24) that would have been just a shade short of a bronze medal in the Paris final. Let's see what happens next year with worlds. If she falls short again the solution wouldn't be hurdles. The solution would be to become an indispensable relay pool runner. Running legs in the 4x100 and 4x400 and mixed 4x400. She has that range. She can win global medals that way.

She needs to join up with ' both or either ' Sidney McLaughlin -Trevnore and Gabby Thomas Training Camp. With Sidney, a christain, a world class athlete, and married to a christian husband, would genuinely boost her athleticism and compete at world class events. That's what I would recommend on her behalf! LOL

She should do 200/400. That way she can win 2 gold medals in the mixed 4x4 and women’s 4x4 and challenge for medals in the 200 and 400. The only american that could challenge her in the 400 is sydney but sydney looks like she is scared to run the 400 so she might be #1. And she would be #2 behind gabby in the 200

I totally disagree about the personality stuff. We don't need more people acting like attention-starved teenagers. I agree about her needing to either switch events or find a way to switch countries though. She is not going to make it in on the US track team running the 200. She should at least be open to running a different event. As for your comparison with Sydney, Sydney is VERY fast my dude. If she ever decides to focus on the flat 400 or the 200, she will drop faster times than Gabby.

You need to make this same video, only featuring the rise and fall of MICHAEL NORMAN.
Unless a different sports psychologist can help him, his career is over.
    1) He has switched coaches twice since 2022. Now that he’s back with Quincy Watts again, both the magic and the trust are gone.
    2) After the 2022 season, he put on almost 10 pounds of muscle that made him run SLOWER, not faster
    3) He became engaged to a young woman who distracted him from the sport, and is already planning his retirement and fatherhood for him.
    This is NOT good.

Abby’s solution is simple, become a 200/400 runner. That no way she is guaranteed a spot in a championship since she’ll always have the option of running in the 4x400 prelim or final.

I see his philosophy it has been done before Irena shyviinska of Poland for example. However the question is if it is too late, and I'm sorry but we have two all-time world list Athletes in America Anna Cockrell is a great hurdle and matches speed with Steiner give or take a tenth or two. I don't know what he thinks is good but the average woman finds 51.8 difficult without hurdles so the event has people who are very good I don't what he means by that.

Abby will be 28 in 4 years I believe she can make LA 2028. You’re right her body needs to rest. I think you’re not washed up til after 32 as runner. She needs to take her time get her body right. Then get good coach to push her when ready. Then she’ll make LA 2028. She needs to run 200 and 400.

I don’t think she should switch to the 400H. That would be a hard switch at 25 and she has had to many injuries. Let’s face it hurdles take a toll on the body. I do however think she should switch to the open 400m. There isn’t a ton of talent for the US in 400m right now. That’s why you see Gaby and Sydney (and Mu in the past) on the 4x4 team. I think if Abby trained for the 400 she could go 48 high and medal at worlds.

@@HEAVYCHEVY409 Abby has a 21.77 from two years ago. She has to consistently break 22 next year or I agree, she's done, if for no other reason, she will get tired of not improving. I think she should hook up with Kersey and see if the change will create some energy in that tank. What I don't know is how long she is committed to running for whoever signed her. They have yet to gotten any benefit from her efforts. I pointed out at the time that Abby made a big mistake when she got distracted with contracts when she should have focused on the Olympics. It created negative energy around her though no one else seemed to notice that her performance immediately took a nose dive

I think your assessment is good but harsh. But that's the harsh reality of USA track. No where else is it as competitive. Unless you have some extraordinary talent you are barely making up the minor positions, if you even get to run in the Olympics. Abby had these bone spur issues which clearly impaired her performance. Had surgery but not sure that's the end of it. The recurrent action/force of landing after the hurdle may not help. Maybe a return to soccer should be considered. Do we know of others who successfully transitioned from flat to hurdles? The other way yes.
