@@JaniceRuhalaRealtor When I tried the CBTL pods, they jammed in my machine. I just got some K-fee pods, and they work GREAT! I believe they made the pods for Starbucks.
Just so you know, Your drip tray gate still has white protective film on it. If you peel that off you will get nice stainless steel. Also great video! I plan to try this out soon on my Verismo.
cbtl pods contain two plastic screens that are great when refilling. you should be sure to harvest these discs. one screens the spout end of the pod and helps create crème, the other seals the top of the pod after you've filled it with your own coffee choice, eliminating the need to use a foil disc as a seal. both screens can be used indefinitely.
They say you may also be able to use the Verismo (coffee only, not espresso) capsules in the CBTL Caffitaly system brewers, Italian designed machines which are a little more refined. The CBTL capsules work best in the Caffitaly machines. The reason the Caffita capsules seem "hard" is that they are a mini percolator with hard filter top and bottom, take one apart you will see. All Caffitaly capsules made worldwide such as Julius Meinl and eCaffe (there are many more) , match the CBTL system so it seems. Amazing coffee and tea. Thanks for the video!
Hi Sean, I noticed this video was made 6 years ago. Starbucks has since made a newer model -The Verismo V and it looks like they “got wise” to this usage of CBTL pods. The new one is built a tad bit different so the CBTL capsule fits tighter. You have to push the lever down with care. Sometimes it just doesn’t work as well and you have to use another capsule. Not exactly saving money. Whatever you do, DO NOT use a Starbucks capsule in a LETO (CBTL coffee maker). You will damage the machine ! One more very important thing is the CBTL Capsules GET STUCK in the Verismo machine and it’s harder than heck to get them out! i have both the CBTL and Verismo and i know how this is. Sean, Thank you for making this video. PS: Rosie is adorable!
This review is amazing! I personally am a cbtl barista. I am always looking for ways to help out any of my customers, who have different machines. This is great!!! :)
Thanks so very much for the CBTL tip. We just got the Verismo system as a gift and have had the hardest time trying to justify spending so much money on the V. pods. Now, thanks to your info, I've got options. You should've seen me trying to empty the keurig pod contents into a V. pod that had been used already but repaired along the top foil cover with scotch tape. Lets just say that your idea is so much better. -Athena from Sacramento, CA
Sign up at HSN for emails and get 15 % off and they have cbtl 90 count variety pack. Wish SB would make reusable ones, I mean aren't they all about going green?!?!www.hsn.com/search?query=cbtl+variety+pack#./undefined?&_suid=141322524423106649424835883686
I have the Verismo V, and the CBTL pods fit and work, but they have a tendency to get stuck after the brew. Very hard to get out. Not worth it, I'll be sticking with the STBX pods.
Make sure if you use the milk pods you throw them out immediately (I left mine there for a few days and they developed little maggots!!!) You can also use the decaf espresso and you can heat up milk in the microwave.
FYI---I Found CBTL pods on HSN.com 96 pods for $49.95 plus shipping. Thats about $0.53 per pod plus shipping and the Verismo Milk pods on Starbucks.com are on sale 96 pods for $54 or 12 pods for $7.
You are absolutely right. A good frother is a big difference and a great way to make identical Starbucks cappuccino's, espresso's and latte's at home. Starbucks sell's great frothers too. The milk pods don't come close. Get some syrups and sprinkles and you're golden. You will save $6-$7 a cup. The CBTL pods sounds like a great idea to save money, but how do they really hold up to the taste test of the Starbucks pods? Not all coffee is the same. I'll stick to Starbucks than risk having cheap tasting coffee thank you :)
"because I don't know where else to get milk" 😆😆 from the gallon! Lol I always use regular milk, heated in the microwave, then foamed with an aerolatte
Yep that is what my husband did for me. He just got it for me as a Xmas gift and got me a great frother that makes cappuccino froth and reg froth and that is what I have been doing.
The CBTL pods worked well enough to make the coffee but they WOULD NOT eject. If you use these in your machine, do so with the understanding that you will likely have to dig the used pod out.
I just bought some of these pods, two things I noticed... you have to remove the pods with a knife because they get stuck in the machine and they also kick out coffee grounds into your shots so if you don’t like either of those issues I wouldn’t buy these
you can buy a 96 count of starbucks expresso pods for $79, whereas the CBTL come to $78... what's the difference (plus you get stars for your purchases)
I got my verismo as a gift and only tried to use it recently. It does not pull from the water filted. I am so disappointed. Starbucks will not send me a replacement, either. I explained that it was a gift and I was only able to try it (1.5 yrs later) after finally finding out that B.B.Beyond sells the pods! I unboxed it, filled the water area, and a whole lot of nothing, happens. So So disappointing.
Trying to decide whether to buy the Verismo and would want to use CBTL pods but some say they get stuck. Do you think it has to do with which model Verismo ppl are using?
sweetbumbles5 I tried the CBTL pods for the past 3 weeks. Sometimes you get lucky, but more often than not they DO get stuck. I'm afraid of breaking my machine, so the plan now is to just stick with the pricey Verismo pods. tastes better anyway, and I, for one, have no time for digging out stuck pods.
Unbelievable, price in Germany for 16 Verismo compatible pods at ALDI SUED 2.79€. That is in USD actually $0.19 for ONE pod!!! ALDI SUED and Starbucks using the same system.
have you tried any of the "Reusable Pods" for Verismo in CBTL or other specific "reusable" pods mixing in your own ground coffee of choice of espresso beans of your choice ground at home then used in the "reusable" pods to create anything? what Reusable Verismo or CBTL pods would you recommend?
If anyone is reading this in 2021, and still using a Verismo, do not attempt to use CBTL pods in your Verismo, they get stuck in the pod receptacle because they are ever so slightly shorter than the Kfee pods. You can order Kfee pods from their site directly and they work great. I really wish I had tried just one box to see if they worked before I bought 8 boxes because they were on sale. My teenager had to dig two CBTL pods out with his fingernails and I stabbed myself on the needle things.
Why refer to the pods as "verismo" & "CBTL"??? They are "K-fee" & "Caffitaly" respectively, the European Manufacturer has the pods dimension as identical but have been deemed as non-interchangeable so there is a risk of pods either jamming (at best) or damaging your machine (worst) if pods are of similar price in your country, stick with what's recommended.
I use the stand alone Verismo milk frother (both they & brewers are on sale right now) - you can you ANY milk you prefer (including skim, almond, soy, etc ) OR flavored creamer to make latte or cappucino!!
Verismo 580 is not good because the new one I got is malfunctioning, water does not run through. In other words, the machine does not dispense.. I have never seen a machine like that before. This machine which is a brand new one, does not brew at all. VERISMO 580 IS NOT A GOOD MACHINE AT ALL
Does anyone know which coffee pods tastes like Dunkin Donuts coffee? I received a Verismo machine for my Bday but can't come across a reg brewed cup of coffee that I just love. This seems to make a good cup of espresso though, I don't drink plain espresso. I need steamed milk. I do not like dark roast coffee. I like the Starbucks sumatra for a every once in awhile cup. Or it mixed as one cup to two cups of reg brewed coffee. Thanks if anyone has any advice.
I'm waiting for cbtl to answer your question, but there is a you tube on how to refill cbtl pods that seem promising. HSN has a deal that is good for big packs and bed bath beyound carries the pods as well if you want local pick up.
Are there any compatible refillable/ reusable pods for the verismo yet? Been looking forever. Besides CBTL are there any other brands compatible? I rather not do the foil stamp each time. Thx for your help + great vids! :) @seanthinks
Thank You, I couldn't find Verismo Pods anywhere in store, online, but never in store. This video helped me so much... Thank You! Also check out my channel!, Thanks
This shouldn't be a huge surprise: even the Starbucks name-brand Verismo pods get stuck. The machine uses a mechanical piston/lever system, so once in a while it just pushes the pod too hard. Pry out the stuck pod with a knife from above, or your fingernails from below, and you should be fine for a while...right until you get to the next one that sticks.
Now that Verismo pods are discontinued, this is a valuable video! Thank you. Saved me a bundle.
Have you tried the brew capsules?

+Rafael Roure they only have decaf french vanilla... There aren't espresso pods for sale on their site
Omg this is awesome iv been looking everywhere for cheaper pods! Thankyou!
I stopped buying the milk pods and invested in a frother. $30 from Amazon and way better!
+Amanda Brown Smart! Great idea!
Amanda Brown жхх
I have a frother and it is fabulous! I'd rather use fresh milk than what is in a "milk pod". Kinda grosses me out.

The Starbucks Verismo Chai pods are very good
Could you just get a milk frother thing and froth your own milk then use the cheaper pods?
Yep. That is what my friend Mike does. Says it works great!

I've had my machine for like 5 years and now I'm excited to use it ! lol thank you for the video !
No it doesn’t work and now i have the CBTL pod stuck in my verismo and it won’t come out! How do you get it out
Oh no! Did you get it out?

just blow on the place in the machine where the water goes and it will work. it is probably just bubbles of air stuck in there. it worked for me!
Damn I can't find melk either. I've been looking everywhere
The New Verismo machines (controls on top) will not work with the CBTL capsules. The old machine (controls on front) will work just fine.
where are you bought the milk capsules?

Do the cheaper pods work in the verismo V?? Thanks
Thanks...I just got one of these machine and now I know I dont have to spend a million dollars on starbucks pods.
The cbtl pods are really not that much cheaper. EBay has the starbucks pods at about the same price as these cbtl no name pods.
I use the stand alone Verismo milk frother (both they & brewers are on sale right now) - you can you ANY milk you prefer (including skim, almond, soy, etc ) OR flavored creamer to make latte or cappucino!!
try finding the pods in the uk, Starbucks don't sell the full range in the uk
+Ralph Waghorn Comment back if you do... We pretty much use CBTL pods 90% of the time!
Hey did you manage to find an alternative for us uk folks
Where can you find the Irish cream coffee
Have you guys moved or r u separated?

Try Starbucks Veranda or House blends. Veranda blend is a lighter roast and fans of Dunkin often like it or House which is a medium roast.
Does this work for the Verismo V?
the OG Sean!!!!
@Sean Cannel can the reusable "way cap" be used in the starbucks machine?
I noticed that Abby didn't even say "Thank you!"
Horrible manners.
Rosie also.
Rosie knows what's good.
aw i miss your dogs i liked seeing Rosie ;)
...Rosie the dog! lol
Thanks , great video. I lovely machine and will try the other pods.
Does the cbtl have any universal capsules? Or how can I make or get a universal capsule for the cbtl?

Keurig also has cappuccino
yes keurig vue go for the 700 model
wait does Abby have blush on her forehead

Thank you new subscriber...been in search

Yay!! More videos please!!

Caffitaly pods are 50 cents a pod. Elite.
not good, they get stuck, good thing I didn't get a lot of them
Gabe? Is that you?
Thanks for this
Thanks for he tip man!
why buy a Starbucks machine and cheap out on buying Starbucks signature pods ? that's like going to Disney and hanging out in the parking lot.
rAPHAEL g agreed. the reason I watched was in hopes to brew starbucks roasts not available in pods.
rAPHAEL he said in the beginning keurig doesn’t do espresso
LMFAO Standing there like Goofy :)
hi
get a milk frother use real milk
be careful don't mention u use cbtl in a starbucks machine it voids the warranty
if you need to call tech support that is, I think lavazza rivo packs might work
even rosie loved the peppermint mocha that was priceless lol
No they don't
OMG!!! ROSIE IS ADORABLE
Rosie is so cute!!
omg thaNK U FOR THIS!!
Lindsey G did you try it !
I do have the machine but hardly use it still since pods are hard to find ...
It is so funny what Americans calls coffee. You can get a better quality coffee way cheaper than this. The machine is cute... that's it.
It's funny how jealous you salty Europoors are you can't afford anything
Mhmmm. Nice comeback Leowulf™. Sincerely, from your (embarrassed) American friend.
They dont work very well. Dont use CBLT for Verismo.
Ebay is cheap.
sweet
its MILK not MELK lol sorry
If you want real coffee, use whole beans!! All that packaging is absolutely unnecessary!!!
She was too much makeup on!
Yummm
Rosie! :D
Thank You, I couldn't find Verismo Pods anywhere in store, online, but never in store. This video helped me so much... Thank You! Also check out my channel!, Thanks
ROSIE!
You look a lot like your mom =*)
DO NOT USE! They get stuck!!!!!
+hayley coughlin I noticed they do get stuck every once in a while - but are easy to pop out with a knife... quick and easy. :-)
