They can't even win wars when America is helping them. Fighting a war with germany on your side is the biggest handicap imaginable.

I believe the Men of the Air in this war were the purest. They didn't fight for ideology, they fought to stop the bombs reaching their homes, their wives, their children. They had rules, sportsmanship, honour. They were part of a more civilised time.

@@samuelpane248 Since my comment I did some actual research and yeah, no more Clean Wehrmacht Myth brainrot. God it's so stupid how Nazi Germany is taught these days, where only the SS were bad and somehow everyone else was a cartoon good guy. Band Of Brothers: "All of Germany and I haven't met one Nazi yet.".

    • @kyntac187

You are so objectively wrong its funny. It really goes to show that the myth of the clean whermacht is alive and well. Regular German military was responsible for the vast majority of the nazis atrocities. The luftwaffe employed massed slave labor from concentration camps, consistently ignored red crosses, bombing ambulances and hospital ships, frequently bombed civilian targets for the sake of just sending a message, frequently strafed allied pilots in parachutes, and deliberately bombed civilian targets to further the holocaust.

War is blurry. The men in the bombers had the highest ratio of casualties than an other unit. A crew was meant to serve on 30 missions and then have 2 weeks off. Most of these men were 20-23 and did not finish their first tour of service. In the Case of the RAF bomber command they lost over 50000 lives. They followed the orders of Churchill and gave up everything. Churchill reused to acknowledge them in his post war peaches and they had no monument until the 2010’s. The nighttime fighters of both sides were heroes. But the bomber crews should be acknowledged

the first time you get shot at, it feels like that you risked your life for the country you fought for, like britain or germany, and when you hear the victory or see the defeat of your country, thats how you finally feel like you've achieved something that you could've done better in order to see many alternate realities of how the war would've ended. that is what makes you feel and be a good soldier of WW2.

  • @ericshi5755

I finally get what this means, and it is so moving. The quote at the start implies that these pilots are fighting to defend their homes. The picture on of their families adds to this affect. Dice, you did a great job on this.

They may have been Germans. They're still men though. Not all fight for ideology or hatred

I like to see it as they knew the war was lost.
But still they went, because they thought if they could down just one bomber, they could buy someone else another day.

      30,000 dead in Dresden GR.
But my grandfather also saw someone vaporized by a German bomb in London 1940. He said it was un-real watching the blood leave the person's body... what was left of the body anyway. Right across the street.

This is one of the most heroic and beautiful soundtracks of all games I’ve ever played, no other wins against Battlefield. And now that I enter this video, I feel in full harmony. Listening to this the way it should be... ENDLESSLY! Thank you so much for the extended version!

Even if my heart has always beaten for the Allies, I am seriously starting to question if we were indeed better than the Axis. Yes, the Germans did bomb first London, Rotterdam and other western landmarks and also killed innocent civilians, I am never going to deny any of the war crimes commited by the Axis, but how can we say we were any better by doing the exact same and not just once, but several times and on a greater scale ?
All I can say is that such a horrible war between us europeans should never exist again.

Well I wouldn't say bombing a capital is bad since it's necessary for victory but civilian and non-strategical cities is wrong and the Allies seemed to love doing that.

    • @Antimanele104
      @Antimanele104 4 роки тому +7

@@ironsusgaming540 In the defense of the Allies, London was also bombed with the V1 and the V2 rockets. That wasn't strategical or necessary for victory since in 1944, it was pretty clear Germany would lose the war. That was plain terror bombing.
Let's not forget that both sides did horrible things.

Grim Reaper I don’t think any British person in 1944 would just give up because of the V1 or V2. It must have been terrifying at first but even they must’ve known that there was no way they would lose the war.
