    Sorry guys, I filmed this with my phone when I was 23 years old and didn't even think that it would be useful to anyone.
    This was my Ex-Gf 4wheelers and don't remember what I was trying to do here. Hopefully it does help someone understand how its put together a little better though lol

    can also pull magneto w 2 bolts longer than installation bolts but turn one way starter clutch to make sure longer bolts go thru it.

    Did you ever put it back together? I can't find timing for balancer shaft

    Maybe you can help with my problem. I installed a new carb. (Old one was junk) Set valve clearance. Put a new plug in. I have gas blowing into the airbox anytime the engine is running. It gets worse when you rev it up and it loses power and bogs down then back fires. I turned the air/fuel mix all the way to lean and even adjusted the carb needle all the way down. Still no help. The funny thing is when in neutral it idles and revs up great, but has gas blowing into the airbox. Someone said the intake valve is stuck or bent and that's why fuel is blowing back through the carb. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. 2005 Yamaha Bruin 350. Thanks!

    I feel your pain brother. I'm working the same but I've not pulled the flywheel yet. The issue is that the starter rope is very hard to pull. I had thought it was off time before about 90 degrees. So I have it with the tick mark on the cam and in between the two lines on the flywheel. My issue being that the rope is being jerked out of my hand that the key may have sheared off the flywheel. Are you still active on your site??

    What Mark did you use on the flywheel for the timing

    hey!!! do you remember if the punch mark on the gear goes align with the woodrof key on the cranckshaft?

      I believe so yes

      so the balancer gear goes around 220 degrees from tdc to align both marks?

      The little gear with the notches for the springs has an indention dot. Line that dot with the keyway on the crank and spin it and line with the dot on the balance shaft. Note that putting the timing chain on and getting it lined up perfect is a pain in the ass took me 3 tries of working the cam sprocket and chain to get them to line up

    and how does it lose compression

    • @james4wd236
      @james4wd236  8 років тому

      +Taylor Clem Don't understand this question. Compression loss can be caused by multiple things. Google it.....

    Looks like a warrior 350! Wonder if they're similar?

      +dorian james Very similar motors I think the 350 cylinder is shorter.

      +James Mccain when I timed my 350 warrior, it ran better with the mark was off by 2 teeth. When I lined the marks up top dead center and the marks on the flywheel, it would backfire bad.

      +dorian james did you replace the chain or where you doing a top end job? only thing I could think could cause this is if the pressed on gear at the crank has moved or slipped on the crank.... or the chain was stretched or the guides where worn badly... but if its running good then id leave it :)

    how do u put it in time

    • @james4wd236
      @james4wd236  8 років тому +1

      +Taylor Clem You put the stator cover on and line the mark on the crank stator pulley to the notch on stator cover where you pull out the rubber plug.... then you put the chain around the cam gear and move the cam and gear WITHOUT MOVING THE CRANK where the line on the cam gear and the mark on the head line up. This procedure is a pain in the ass. and sometimes takes several attempts to get it right. once the crank is still on TDC and the cam gear is lined up properly with the line on the gear pointing to the mark on the head, you install the tensioner. Then the spring and bolt into the tension and your good. turn the motor over 2 or 3 times and back to TDC to verify its still in time correctly
