I was a teenager in the early to mid 90s and was big into the goth scene. My friends and I would hang out in cemeteries at night just to freak people out. They thought we were strange and we loved it! 🤣 Type O has always been my favorite group followed by H.I.M. I still listen to Type O to this day. RIP Peter Steele!

I started watching because you're one of the few that really cares about Type O Negative. My journey with Type O started when I was about 16 and October Rust came out. His voice,the keyboards&the way girls reacted to it blew me away. Always liked the Commentary Tracks & Bonus Stuff on their DVD'S.

Fun fact - Type O Negative played EVERY HALLOWEEN and always made a big show/party out of it. Or so I've heard. Halloween is really their holiday.

Interestingly enough there are no actual drums on any TON album except the very last (Dead Again). The drums have always been programmed by Josh Silver (keyboards) for the recordings. Of course when they'd play live it'd be Sal Abruscato (he quit & joined Life Of Agony ** the members of LOA are the guys in the robes in the one cheesey video version of Christian Woman & the guys in the tree behind Pete in the Black No. 1 video). Johnny Kelly replaced Sal during the Bloody Kisses touring cycle & from then forward. Also - the song Bloody Kisses is about Peter's cat. Google "Peter Steele cat" and you'll see pics from when Pete was a young lad with his cat(s) up until right before he passed. RIP - we miss you.
I had to stop the video, right before the end. So, I just watched it again. Not that I mind one bit. I'm so glad you love this one! I've read that it's the prayer, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, said backwards, at the beginning. Yes, give me all the dead leaf bouquets! Fall is the best, if we can ever get cool weather here. And, the leaves to change. Yes, I have chilled in a graveyard. It was a picnic, held after a funeral and burial. I didn't know that was a thing, until it all happened. I'm so glad it's October, finally. I'm really looking forward to all the great music. 🎃

Black Sabbath (From the Satanic Perspective) it was kinda like Black Sabbath *band* cover, I guess
It’s demonic and pure evil. Pete tells us a story from a satanic perspective obviously, it feels like myth creature got his own voice. His voice by the way is soo scary and so seductive. It matches the lyrics perfectly. What can be a more Halloween than that?

Love the TON material you're doing especially leading to Halloween. Another great band to hear leading to Halloween is "In this Moment" . The " Blood"album is probably their best . They have a creepy Halloween vibe going on on stage . Also Maria Brink is one of the most incredible female vocalists on rock . She has the widest vocal style/ range than anyone out there . SHE IS INCREDIBLE !!

Sorry but a 2nd comment after you saying you like the drums. Type O fans correct me if I'm wrong but I have read that although Johnny was the drummer from Rust on forward Peter didn't let him play on the albums Rust, WCD, and LIKM. Rather used drum machine in studio. I'm not sure why but that's the story. Anyone with info on this please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers again!
I heard Johnny talking about this in an interview awhile back. I think Peter did it that way to get the exact sound he was looking for and it saved a lot of time to program the drum part. Johnny had no problem with it. He was credited and compensated as normal.

The story behind this is his girlfriend at the time died. He also lost his father in the same period. These losses and his spiraling addictions to wine and cocaine and his life in general were the inspiration for world coming down.
With that said his girlfriend died and he fell out drunk at her grave. So inspired by this he wrote a song about the myth of the green light when a soul from the dead returns to the world of the living.

To me, Type-O is of quite variable quality. However, when they’re at their best, they’re uniquely brilliant.

Awww yeah. Type O is the best Halloween band ever. And their two best Halloween songs, this and All Hallow's Eve are both on this record. This was perfect, too. It's almost sunset, cool autumn breeze coming through the windows...
And yes, I have chilled in graveyards. Many of them. It's quite peaceful and relaxing. Great for photos, too. Especially if there's giant, monument style markers.
