Hi dear, I'm thankful that I found your channel. Your tutorial will definitely very helpful. Now I know how to make my own crushed glass than buying expensive one. Thanks for sharing this idea. God bless you more👏🥰
Hi, thank you for sharing. We own a glazing shop and as a keen crafter I had always wondered how I could recycle some of our waste glass. I can't wait to try this! There will definitely be a lot of sparkling Christmas gifts for the family this year.
You are right to say that crushed glass is very expensive in Sydney . I am in Stanhope gardens in Sydney and I bought a few colours on line , you hardly get enough for one project. I admire all what you do because I was a jack of all trades like you .I was the one to do all the repairs, painting , decorating , crafting, sewing etc things like this around the house , until accident strike and I cannot do any heavy or bending things any more. I admire you with great pleasure.
Thank you very much 🥰 I'm sorry to hear about your condition 😞 you might still enjoy drawings or Jewellery making ( I can't make any ) but I seen some people turned their hobby to small business & selling their beautiful creations at local markets. You may able to do small bits & pieces while sitting in comfortable place from time to time & enjoy ur diys with out lifting heavy stuff. Just an idea 😉🙂♥️👍
I love this video. Very pretty and lots of informations. Also really liked the Q&A. I think you should do that in your next video. The colours so pretty 💜💙💚💛🧡🤎❤️🤍
Hi. Well explained. Great idea. Just wondering...saw you using your bare hands, aren't the pieces sharp, do you get yourself hurt when you use on a project?
Wondering 🤔 What of you did the color on the glass first then sprayed the mirror paint? Would that be a good way to keep one side mirror and the other side color on the end result?
Hi 🙂 not really sure what you meant .. mirror effect only happens if the ( mirror effect) spray paint apply on glass first, otherwise it's just a silverish looking paint. Hope this is the answer 🙂👍♥️
Thank you so much for this. I do have a question, I've seen several videos where they say that alcohol inks turns yellow when used with resin. Will that be the case here as well. Can you use pigments or mica powder instead?
Alcohol inks are commonly used in resin projects. They don't turn yellow but your resin itself can yellow over time if you don't get a good quality type that has UV protection. Alcohol inks however, can fade over time in resin projects. I think you could make a form of alcohol ink using mica with 91% (or higher) isopropyl alcohol and the mica would add a nice luster or shimmer, some even have sparkles in them. I am going to try micas as I am also a soapmaker and have over 200 different micas already so why not. Also, there are spray paints that are transparent like stained glass. I think Krylon makes them in lots of colors. They aren't inexpensive though so maybe not super budget friendly but I would think one can would still go pretty far and make a lot of colored crushed glass for the cost and if you are upcycling or repurposing glassware then your only cost would be the mirror or color spray paint.
@kelpiecoco7570 thanks so much for the reply. That's what I meant the alcohol inks fading overtime. As I want to sell my finished products I'd hate that to happen. I know what you mean with the mica. Haveawhole bunch because I also make bath and body products. I'll have to experiment with the mica to see if it'll work. Never thought to use Krylon. Will have to try that as well.
Hi Barbara, it shouldn't be, if u use good quality ones like pinata , make sure dries couple of days. I suggest do a test size before going into big project 👍
