    22:22 Scherzo. Allegro molto vivace
26:49 Finale. Moderato assai - Allegro vivo
I've made some revisions to the sound. The venue, St Jude's church in London, is excellent in itself, but the miking was too distant eating into the highs. I expanded the stereo image somewhat to the normal as per the Adobe Audition phase meter.
Tchaikovsky presented the first version in 1872. The work was well-received, but not many concerts were given and the work was not submitted to printing. He made major revisions in 1879-80.
Tchaikovsky destroyed the manuscript of the first version, but it was reconstructed posthumously from the orchestral scores for the concerts.

The following from Tchaikovsky Research: en.tchaikovsky-research.net/p... The timings are related to this recording (as standalone movements). The revision/recomposing work definitely I think did improve the symphony, making it more cohesive and more compact, esp. for the 1st movement.
1st movement - The main body of the opening movement (3'31 to 14'10) was completely rewritten in the revised version, while retaining some elements of the earlier themes.
    -
2nd movement - The original version of this movement has only very minor differences in phrasing and dynamic markings from its successor.
3rd movement - This Scherzo was completely re-orchestrated and shortened in the revised version [
4th movement - Based on the Russian folksong 'The Crane' (Журавель). More than 200 bars (6'40 to 8'33) were cut from the revised version of this finale. The original bass drum and cymbal parts do not survive for this passage, but they have been restored here by analogy with their appearances earlier in the movement.

Thank you for posting a favorite symphony of mine, ironically on my father's 104th birthday.
