Thanks again for your videos and for answering our questions. I purchased a K8-PB with the pocket beagle and a raspberry pi 4. Now I'm confused because the beagle has FPP pre-installed. Should that instead be installed on the Pi? If so, how do the Pi and controller communicate?
Since the K8-PB has FPP on it, you can just use that and therefore no need for the RPi at all. Or you can put that K8 FPP in "remote" mode but have the RPi run as "master/player". Multiple ways to achieve the same result.
So let's break this down a bit. I get everything after the k40d but a little confused before it. So router to pi? Wired? Pi to kulp? Wired? And pi also runs the sound board? I've ordered my parts but unsure how all that functions. No manual for the k40d-pb
Pi is my "master" controller, and that runs the audio (so yes, the Sound Blaster connected to that). Then the K40D and my other Kulps are remotes/slaves multi-synced to the Pi master.
I use the same XConnect 3-core extension cords for both my main ports as well as power injection. It’s just for the power injection, no data is flowing through that conductor.
I use different power supplies (5V or 12V) depending on what exactly I'm powering, but I generally prefer "Mean Well" brand as they are higher quality and more reliable. And the bulk of my show runs on 12V, so I have several LRS-350-12's. www.amazon.com/Mean-LRS-350-12-Switching-Power-Supply/dp/B0109IMRPS?th=1
Thanks for the feedback. There are lots of other UA-camrs with more in depth tutorials (Canispater Christmas is my favorite). I wanted to provide quick hit stuff.
@@GandorFamilyLightShow Yeah I try to watch and follow people who do videos like this I just was saying you are doing great work maybe extend the videos just a bit

What size/type of wires and connectors are you using for the power injection? Great work, btw!

@@GandorFamilyLightShow Awesome- thank you!
Can you provide a link to the power supplies you use?

What is the white thing next to the raspberry pi?
Just a zigbee temperature sensor so I can see if the box is getting too hot (never did).
How many pixels do you control per port? Thank you
It varies, but generally always less than 800. I probably average about 500 pixels per port. It's a balance with power injection needs.
Is the roofline controller box sent to your main controller box?
The roofline controller is its own controller, but it syncs to the main box via FPP remote.
How many controller boxes do you have?
I currently have 5 controller boxes total, spread throughout my yard.
Your videos would be better if you made them longer quick 3 minute videos .. dude you can easily talk about this for hours

Does anyone make controllers as a kit for idiots like me ? Lol
