The all-new, 10-episode second installment of THE X-FILES is executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI Asst. Director WALTER SKINNER. Additionally, the all-new episodes will feature guest-star appearances by Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, Haley Joel Osment and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man.” Along with Carter, series veteran Glen Morgan serves as an executive producer.
In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average Multi-Platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was last season’s No. 2 broadcast drama. It also was the season’s most talked-about event series on Twitter.
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases - “X-Files” - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

loved 11x1, but wanna see the Lone Gunman soon!!
Haters gonna Hate, but this Season 11 premiere was great and full of shocking and unexpected twists in the Mythology. Until now, the only downside of Season 11 is the lack of more Mythology episodes to wrap things up even more.

I'm watching season 11 episode 1 and x-files episodes now feel sped up to me. The way the episodes are filmed it seems like it's accelerated compared to the tempo in older episodes (seasons 1 to 9). X-files episodes were always very slow and had a melancholic or mysterious piano soundtrack playing almost constantly during an episode. Now I've noticed it's only action soundtrack and sped up scenes and music. Kind of puts me in a nervous mood instead of investigative or mysterious mood like the past episodes. I understand they have to adapt to a new/younger audience but it feels like X-files has lost that mystery feel from past seasons. Good thing because you can see more story rather than have an episode drag to reveal one thing at the end. But also bad thing because that was part of what defined the show for me as I was growing up. I still like the new seasons (10-11) though.

I highly doubt Chris Carter knew where he was going with that shitty finale, give me a break... That was lazy writing. Can someone please tell him to stop writing?!!?

Pacing is still way off (too crammed for 40min episode, needs a full hour premiere at least), but I like the direction of this new season. Expect the parallel universe "Mandela Effect" episode sometime in the future.
Queen Extravaganza Live agreed with the pacing problems not very well balanced the car chase was a complete fail imo
I felt this episode was way too much at once. I got left in the dust trying to recall plotlines and relations between old characters as the show frantically raced through different scenes. Not knowing what to believe as truth has always been an enjoyable little part of the show, but in this episode, the pace made it irritating and impossible to decipher, at least for me.
Exactly. You nailed it. I couldn't even try to keep up with it as it was like a pinball going around very fast. Didn't even get much of a chance to even try to care that much for the characters either. And isn't it the point of any show, to have people form that attachment more and more as it goes on?
You can't please everybody. This season has already started off giving more info than any other season, yet people are mad because it rewrites someones preconceived idea of what they "believed" was really going on in the series. The X-Files is about finding the truth, not conforming to the script in your head. How many times have you thought you had something all figured out only later to find out you had no idea what you were even doing and completly screwed whatever it was up? Just let the show take you wherever it leads and enjoy the ride.
Fair enough, I just didn't like the editing and the quick cuts. That's the only real issue I had with it.

An interesting way? Chris Carter used the oldest cliche of TV writing: "it was all a dream", come on! And the twist at the end was the same "actually, the father was the bad guy all along". The CSM monologue and the dialogue between CSM and Monica Reyes were awful too. This is so poorly written! We're not in the 70s, 80s or 90s! TV has made a significant leap forward in terms of quality in the last 20 years. Chris Carter is ruining the show... He needs to hire help or work harder on his scripts.
Chris Carter hasn't had a TV show on air for more than 15 years. He wrote My Struggle pt.1, 2 and 3 and Babylon (10x05) pretty much by himself, with no help from Morgan & Wong. Frank Spotnitz is not even involved. These are the worst episodes of seasons 10 and 11. The actors don't seem to really be back in their old characters, they are too self-conscious. There's a clear lack of preparation everywhere. No wonder Gillian Anderson doesn't want to do a season 12...
It's funny seeing David and Gillian being forced into saying it's interesting, when it's anything but, it's just pure lazy plotting
I think Carter read some fics and chose to fuck our hearts, with one of the worst nightmares of the fandom. I understand that cancer is a liar and that his alleged paternity is a very low way of blackmailing skinner, but in that trip with scully, I believe that he simply returned the fertility or returned the ovules, and mulder took care of the rest. but in general, yes, I was fascinated by the beginning of this season and now if I have the hope of a good job

Отдельный респект такое создать, это перезагрузить весь сериал заново сделать по-другому, это вообще как можно было так сделать, как сопоставить те же самые почти показывает тоже самое, но сделать так, чтобы ничего невозможно было понять. Просто окунуться в ту жизнь, которая была до и после-после интереснее, чем до интереснее намного. Это вообще приятно, что такая история есть, она не угасает и не умолкает за их настолько интересен 7-7-7. Даже невозможно ничего писать. Эпизоды настолько приятные и настолько всё интересно весь 11 сезон, он был настолько захватывающий. Той нло. Какое-то похищение ли не похищение там такое, там такое вообще. Сидишь, смотришь, сиди раскрыл рот, это всё это так интересно, это так интригующе, куда это всё, это всё подевалось 6 лет назад, это транслирова, 6 лет назад каждый год перезагрузку, каждый год. И всё перестали, почему они в повторах даже интереснее, ты вспоминаешь всё, всё, что происходило, жаль, как жалко, как жалко, ну главное, что всё удачно сделали, что в сериале там такая перезагрузка. Что здесь зе-зе-бест нужно этого не хватает, не хватает этого момента, чтобы больше было таких интимных отношений, просто романтичные отношения здесь романтичные отношения в том, что они просто общаются друг с другом. И на них смотришь, и иди вы, как они общаются спокойно, у них совершенно другая жизнь, удер искали другая жизнь, они настолько другие стали не настолько. Настолько изменились, что невозможно даже понять их самих, они меняют всё вокруг, они меняются вообще во всём меняются и жизнь свою меняют и становятся другими совсем. Это даже приятно, интересно. И смотришь это вообще красота. И больше этого нет. Быстро всё пролетело эти сезоны мгновенно пролетели или что? Только-только смотреть начали, их уже нет. Быстро всё пролетело, быстро незаметно. Нелегко всё это было смотреть, это было даже тяжеловато смотреть. Но настолько это было приятно за сердце хватало это. Это был душевный покой, смотрели прям сильно, знали, о чём, где что. А сейчас просто уже нет, такого нет, даже то и нету той нету заправки, которая была. Как будто пропитались этим фильмом, все пропитались? Как будто на торте, на тортике пропитка? Это такая сладость, это такая жизнь, такая любовь там. Ну, это вообще. Это, скорее всего, они сами это всё додумали чуть-чуть всё, спасибо огромное, Крис, настолько всё это сделали, даже перезагрузка удачная во всём.

the drama is a little to much , and the tactics don't need to get to gory, to get a good story , why not try having a resturant that just shows up out of the blue then disipears randomly wherever molder and skulky go on dessert highways with Mildres sister he can't find as a waitress !

Chris Carter you actually didn’t resolved or answered anything! I definitely wasn’t prepared for what I saw, it was too weird and I still have no idea who I feel about it
lets just keep the partisan politics out of it and try to remember what the show was supposed to be about. As difficult as that may be today.

Couldn't stand the ep. Pacing was off, editing and cuts were too fast and distracting. Those things alone made it almost impossible for me to watch or even try to keep up with.
I'm always happy to watch more X-Files, but the way Carter "resolved" the cliffhanger was terrible. It's the oldest and lamest cheat in the Hollywood playbook. Need to undo what happened in the last episode? Just say it was all a dream (traditional cheat) or a vision of what may come (Magical-Supernatural cheat). That's just lazy & disappointing writing. I hope it pays off for the rest of the season, but I'm as ticked off that 11:01 undid 10:06 as I was that 10:01 & 10:06 undid the entire X-Files series & film that came before it.
Can you please explain those do what wrong, as I have been watching x-files since it aired and I don't understand how what you are saying is true... please help an elderly man understand one of his most loved stories...

Right now that explains the confusion of some people.
They've explored this before when David was starting to be tired of his Mulder character where he went insane bc of the alien ship piece. But ofc Chris and Fox made him to get through another 3 seasons. But I think they're doing it better and more interestingly today. I hope they get Gillian to finally still do a final season in 2019 and let's wrap it ultimately in a End Game colonization movie in 2020
David never got tired of the character of Mulder. Do some research. You have it completely wrong.
