    Here's a nice Christmas Gift that I was unaware of!!! The Imperium Envelope was also published in a free online ebook. Thanks to Larry Darbonne for pointing this out to me--> After some searching, I found through a Google search, that led me to the green pages, Mohamed Khaled's The Imperium Envelope in the free book The Anthology of Dynamic Minds compiled by William Patrick, available at Dynamic Minds website (www.dynamicmindsonline.com/).

    I'm very grateful and honored, to mention my effect in your channel. I really hope you enjoy performing it as I do. Also I am very appreciated that you improve the effect in your way that works best for you. For anyone who owns my effect and other mentalism effects. Be sure to practice, practice and perform it many times once it becomes second nature. Also once your performing any effect, don't think about being perfect all the time and finish the effect quickly. Try to enjoy the experience and take some time to meet your audience because you never know if they had a bad day. I really believe to have a nice talk and getting to know that person. Anyways, Thank you and have a happy new year 🎉

    As usual, a stellar and extremely valuable review. If you do not mind, I agree with Mr. Knight, below--what a wonderful Christmas present. How many materials would you have to go through and compare and contrast, to get a review like this? And as David noted, the best things are usually "hidden in books," not in the latest releases. You can tell that these reviews are unbiased. Why? They do not refer you to the commercial junk that often does not even work right out of the box, as in a recent item that he reviewed. But believe it or not, the paid shills for the big magic corporations keep on praising junk like those tricks!
    Instead, David is doing the work of a committee of 5-10 geniuses, alone. Of course magicians/mentalists do not agree on everything. But David is truly giving us the ability to find the gems in a mega haystack of questionable magic. Mentalism is even harder to judge in an objective way. But Unbiased Magic Reviews does it. We all should realize the debt we owe David!!!! Thanks again!!! Because of this masterful set of reviews (Top 5 Mentalism Effects of 2022) and some of the searching and thinking I did after seeing it, my mentalism became literally supercharged. As Mr. Hari says below--so generous of you to share this with us!!!! We all wish you the best year yet!

    thanks for this review David... what a wonderful Christmas present! I have enjoyed performing each of the top 5 effects in your list. Another effect I loved reading and performing is "Three Moments in Time" by Pablo Amira in his book "Simply Mental". It uses 3 billets and a few ordinary objects that you can borrow from your spectators.

      David, Just an FYI… the routine “Cut to Score” appears on page 133 in Aazan Makdoomi’s book, Mental Presentations, and is in the S**** section which some might consider to be a prop. However, the routine “Spectution” on page 71 has a similar structure using only billets which I like for this category of mentalism.

    • @UnbiasedMagicReviews
      @UnbiasedMagicReviews  Рік тому +1

    One question about “structured portrait” if the spectator chooses a 3 digit number that results in the only 2 digit result possible, doesn’t that crash the trick? I’ve read and re-read Creasey’s explanations in the book and I don’t see how it will work with the resulting three digit number that Scott explains you help the spectator create. I’m being a bit vague only so I don’t give the method away…. But David--I think what I’m saying will make sense to you. If this is true, do you just not worry about it because the chances of that outcome are so small? Or am I missing something about how the trick will work in the case that the 2 digit number is created?

    • @UnbiasedMagicReviews

      I used to carry a DS envelope but I got lazy and now just use a regular size 1 coin envelope. If you are interested exactly how I can do that with an ungimmicked envelope, then send me an email and I will show you. There are a ton of places that you can learn how to make a DS envelope if you want something completely self-working or just use a Quiver/Himber wallet. So many options but the simplest is my choice because often I don't even have to touch the envelope ever again after I place it on the table.

    hi great stuff as usual. I was thinking, would anamalistic gel well to perform right after Billet Chi from the modern mind reader series ? I think billet chi is strong but wasnt so keen on the animals premise, but if this worked with it and didnt detract then i could consider that. Thanks.

    • @UnbiasedMagicReviews
      @UnbiasedMagicReviews  Рік тому +1

      Probably not because with Billet Chi you want the person to think of an obscure animal which will make the revelation even more impossible whereas you are doing the opposite with Animalistic - you are having the person think of a common animal. It would not be easy to steer the person from one extreme to the other without it seeming that way.

    I’ve picked up both structured imagery and animalistic and I have to say unfortunately I’m disappointed in both.
    Structured portrait I would never perform. It’s very wordy, hard for the audience to follow, and associating a detailed picture with hundreds of pixels to something so binary feels saddening.
    It’s pretty much feels like a calculator trick with a reveal in the form of an image. I didn’t like it at all. A 3 digit number used in the binary sense has just 8 outcomes; anyone that has done high school math will pick up on this. The only way I see this going good is you pick an easily amused spectator who is happy just to be involved in the trick and they give a good reaction for the rest of the audience to get behind.
    Animalistic has some potential but they failed to include a lot of the potential animals so if you use it as is you will get yourself into trouble.
    There is definitely some phishing so the affect can lose some of its reaction. It has some decent impromptu potential or filler and can sometimes hit big depending on the chosen animal.
    You can of course force the base but it feels not impactful enough to use up a force method. I’m interested in your handling to see if it improves the affect.

    • @UnbiasedMagicReviews
      @UnbiasedMagicReviews  10 місяців тому

      Structured Portrait is not good as an opener but rather something for a group that wants to see more. The procedure is dead simple and since they have a completely free choice of whatever number they use it feels fair. I have had good success with using it. Maybe it’s just not for you. Regarding Animalistic- I cleans up the effect by adding some elements to it. Send me an email if you want to learn my handling that makes it much more deceptive.
