After reading Tchaikovsky's "Children of Time", I have a feeling he was inspired by "Dragon's Egg" :D
I enjoyed both books, with Tchaikovsky certainly being more accessible.

I once had a signed copy. My mother worked for Dr. Forward at Hughes Aircraft Laboratories in Malibu. He was a very nice man, and brilliant.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I also gave it a 4/5 as the science at times got to be too much. Great for the ideas alone though.

Yeah, I enjoyed it overall. It was a challenge but I think that is a good thing.
