Gosh SFWOW, thanks for covering this author whom I had never heard of until now. I don't read as much these days, and certainly don't have the time to take chances on authors I don't know but thanks to you, I can use any time I do have most efficiently! As a side note, I have not seen a plausible terraforming of Mars storyline from anyone who has produced a novel or a series in that direction. I say that because they all lack the critical element that would make it possible: a magnetosphere. Really enjoying your channel!
Thanks for the kind words. I agree with your terraforming critique. The thing I've noticed is the 'harder' and more science base the sci-fi is, the more open to critique it gets. No one has issue with the big purple aliens in a Fredric Brown novel, haha.
Thanks for this. Need to revisit my collection to see if i own these L Forward books. Perfect timing since i finished some Greg Egan collections and Stephen Baxter - i want to continue the science reading vibe.
@@sfwordsofwonder - Start with Diaspora, It fixes the problem you had with those Robert L forward books.... The humans are so advanced behaviors and cultures change in extremely creative ways. Everything in his books seems exotic and well thought out.
Blink of an Eye (Star Trek: Voyager) Sources: "This episode is believed to have been inspired by the 1980 novel Dragon's Egg by Robert L. Forward".
Very interesting, I might have to re-watch that one. Thanks Robert!
That's the one about the planet with the tachyon core and the severe time dilation effect isn't it? One of my favourite episodes!
