Hi, wonder of anyone can help. I need a replacement Mk 1 TT Roadster window power motor - I notice the one for the coupe is exactly the same shape / design - but cheaper. Anyone know if I could just fit that?
Very helpful video. Battery died on my 2005 3.2 Quattro and since the battery is in the rear, I had no way of opening the hatch with the power dead until I learned about the hidden toggle underneath the cup holder. Cool stuff!
Brilliant. Just bought an immaculately kept 2002 Coupe with only 25000 miles. You answered some questions I had. Someone must have pressure washed the car at the dealers and got dirty water into the right front headlight. I am going to replace the scratched rims and get new headlights installed. I love this car.

Thanks for the towing info, Bryn. Also, it took me about 10 years of ownership before I noticed the middle sun visor! Doh! I'm sure that's some sort of record. :-)
Had my Audi TT convertible for a few months I found my middle visor by watching this presentation 👍🏻 this is a great watch , Bloke at work has a Audi told him about the middle visor he's don't have it , 1st time I have seen a grown man have visor envy 😂😂😂

Thanks. I just got my MK1 a few days ago and am trying to learn everything. The temperature the engine is running is helpful as I don't know if the gauge or thermostat is gone. And also the problem with the window switch as my driver's door does the same.

This might help with the window not dropping when you open the door.. turn the ignition on not starting the engine, make sure the window is fully up with doors closed, hold the window switch up for the window that’s not dropping for five seconds that should reset the window and when you open the door it should drop, 9 times out of 10 it works hope this helps

Regarding the last point, about locking your keys in the car. For about £15, I got a copy key (non-chip) cut from my only remote fob key, at Timpsons. I keep the copy key on my housekeys keyring, separate from the fob key. As I carry both keyrings whenever I go out in the car, if it ever happens that I lock my fob key inside, I still have the copy to open the car and retrieve them. Small price to pay rather than having to break a window, etc etc.
Hi I've got a 52 plate 225 Quattro central locking was working fine car was left for about 2years now the central locking only works if you do it manually not with the key fob I've changed the battery's and the fob is sending out a signal any ideas what might be wrong ? Cheers
Amazing the number of people who don’t read the manual. Videos are easy tho. I do miss that mini 3rd sun visor. Top tip: get your Haldex oil changed every 20k miles.... actually I’d say 10-15k. It really gums up and can clog the haldex filter. I’ve seen metal swarf in a new car having done 20k, and nasty gummy oil in a 10 year old car that’s done low miles even after changing it twice. Would imagine the flappy paddle common jamming problem, which is an easy fix, is noteworthy too. And a mention to the hazard warning light containing a fuse.
I had seven very chilly hours on Exmoor a couple of years ago when my keys were locked in the car. I'd opened the boot to get some stuff out and put the key in the ignition (so I wouldn't leave them in the boot by accident...) RAC never found us. In the end, in desperation, I used a hardened hammer loaned by a kind motorist and smashed the quarterlight. I sourced a second-hand replacement from Ebay for not much money but had to pay £100 to get it properly fitted. Had I known, I'd have go the window switch replaced at the same time.
Good video, I knew most of it but good stuff for a new owner. Yep locked my keys in the boot twice, once at home and once at work where I had to get the spare brought from home! 😂👍... Didn't know about the third visor!

Very cool, third visitor, hidden trunk lock , good stuff. I’ve owned it for 3 years. My problem is my drivers door key won’t turn left or right and I’m told you need that to reset certain things on the car likes the blower/heat ?
Bought a 2003 Convertible Quattro TT as a surprise for the wife - had no idea about the hidden codes, the vent closing or the lowering the windows with the fob (which mine does not work for some reason). If you are answering questions, where is the best place to get the spare key that they show in the manual that you could hide in a magnet hide-a-key in case you did lock your keys in the car? Also, did not know about the manual trunk release (I did find the one for the gas). Have to look at that.
Found out the car auto locks when I started driving one day 😅 alarm went off and k had to pull over and take the key out to lock/unlock with the fob. So now I have to habit of hitting unlock right before I start the car every time. (Door switch is also bad)
Mine locked me out on a track day at Donnington. Luckily I left the windows down a crack and got them out with a bendy grabber. Should have mentioned the knob sock for summer and winter... Gear knob that is... Stops you getting third degree burns or freezing to the gear knob.
I bought a 2001 with a broken selector fork in the trans. I wanted to go through it anyway and the fork only cost 120 from Audi but when I was done I couldn't get the gas cap open. If you lock and unlock the car 5 or 6 times the button will work again. I didn't think it would work but it did on mine.
