Can we talk about how Zen played PERFECTLY game 1??? Like there's no defensive mistakes, every offensive attemps are shutdown, it just blows my mind..
Okhalids offense wasn't as good as it coulda been in game 1, everything Zen touched turned to gold. My only criticism is he was too passive unlike when he went on his 10 game show match win streak. Zen honestly looks bored, it doesn't look like he's trying, if he runs into mawkzy he'll lose but idk we'll see, we know he can beat anyone except RW9 but RW9 has been losing to Mawkzy recently.. obviously anyone can win..

Haven’t watched a salt mine 1v1 in like 2 years but the last time I did Khalid seemed like the player to beat, the competition has definitely progressed since then

Yeap and probably at the time RW9 wasn't even in the scene yet! To date, RW9/Zen is the player to beat!
2 years ago Okalid was so dominant because he was amazing at 50s and his defense and bounce dribbles would beat out any player. Nowadays you have players like Zen and Dark who can pogo and get 3 flip resets easily. Nobody did that in the past because nobody had that level of consistency. The offensive level of new players is just too difficult to defend against normally.
the transition at the end of the 1st game (7:09) makes it look like okhalid falls off the bar and into the overlay 😂
The best way to end the tournament would be Khaled saying "Be careful" to zen and pulling a fairy peak

22:22 Anyone else notice what zen did there? It's mind boggling how calculated and quick thinking zen is. Maybe im just trash, but i'd never think to lean back so that when i flip i hit the ball with a certain part of the cars hitbox for a higher touch. That was insane to me

Overlay is crazy good well done to who ever made it! In my opinion the radar should be showing during the match and stats after a goal, boost showing by the time is awesome!

The replay/goal text that appears at the top after a goal goes in is severely lagging/stuttering the stream/vod. May want to remove it if possible. It's quite annoying.
Just noticed it occurs when the "stats" text appears as well.

Zen has something that a lot of pros don't have which the outstanding adaptation with the opponent's playstyle, Zen's preferred playstyle is a fast but accurate one but you can see that when he goes against pros that are slower, Zen also slows down and manages to be more accurate than them even though he doesn't like playing slow so basically he's mastered both slow and fast playstyles while keeping his perfect accuracy in both equally.

game 1 may be the single greatest game of Rocket League ever played. Unfortunately for Zen there is still the rest of the series.
The mindgame allowing the open net at 0 secs was insane(ly disrespectful) I'm seeing in the next game that Zen didn't anticipate retaliation, he was too busy feeling hisself.

23:35 correct me if I’m wrong but it seems like Zen tries to pogo himself off the backboard to deflect the ball into the net. Crazy thinking by Zen
In my opinion it looks like he’s just going for the top corner bump, because he knows oKhalid is on the back wall and his options to save the ball are limited. But it looks like Zen got too far ahead of the ball after using his reset, so he was way too early to be able to get that bump on oKhalid. Which is why you can kinda see oKhalid get a pretty free/non-threatening save (prob easier to see it if you slow it down a little bit).
If you watch again, you can probably also kinda see the moment when Zen realizes he cant make a play on the ball after using that flip because of how far ahead of the ball he was, so Zen insta flips off of ball cam and looks to find a bump on oKhalid since that’s basically his only play at that point.
And by the way, I know comment sections are filled with Reddit smartasses sometimes, but my comment wasn’t trying to be snobby or whatever. Zen is fucking insaneeee and I wouldn’t put much past him, but in this case, I think it’s safe to say the pogo redirect wasn’t on his radar haha.

Im not SSL but something that I notice or feel is that Zen never plays like in "automatic" while going for a play, every play is totally calculated, he doesnt go max speed thinking that WILL work, he tries a play, Khalid responds, he thinks probably wouldnt work, stops, then tries again, cut his play, and again, and again, he only really commit when is sure he can do it. and all those cuts in his movement makes him really unpredictable.
