This was honestly one of the best 1v1 series OF ALL TIME. This win cemented Fairy's legacy as the 1v1 GOAT. To be far and above competition during his prime and to come back over the years and defeat the top contenders is just nuts. And to win the series in the fashion he did! Remember guys, be careful!

Aside from the incredible series I just wanted to compliment this absolute banger of a casting duo that is Shogun and Johnnyboi, shogun's ability to create this rising sense of energy in games beautifully compliments johnny's analytical sort of grounded style, it's just a wonder to see.
Shogun is the wild, flailing triple flip reset to Johnny's precision ground shot.

I admire Fairy Peak's tenacity: he believed he could beat oKhaliD until the very end, did everything in his power to make it happen and even pulled one of the clutchest moments I've seen in RL. Under the same circumstances, I imagine most similarly skilled players would have taken themselves out of the game. Hats off to both players for such an entertaining match!

This was the GREATEST 1v1 match I’ve ever seen. I jumped out of my seat throwing my fist in the air like 3 times cuz of Fairy Peak. GGS, both are absolute beasts!

A few informations from Fairy Peak stream:
1/ He said he told Johnny before the series started that he would play all the games and Alpha54 wouldn't sub in. I wonder if Johnny didn't see the message or if he decided not to tell on purpose.
2/ He still doesn't enjoy playing 1s anymore. Though because he wasn't playing for himself but for his team Vitality, he managed to stay focused and he played more seriously because of that. He also added he most likely won't be playing in the Salt Mine II.

I can see why he doesn't want to play more 1s. It's incredibly stressful and requires insane focus only to lose kickoffs four times in a row. All the while he has an audience asking if he's washed.

My god, this is the best series ive ever seen, i love okhalid man, hes just so good at pushing people to their limits, every series he plays in is just amazing, if anyone could turn this one around it was fairy
I disagree somewhat. Alpha54 lost in the EU salt mine against oKhalid by 1 game and by only 1 point; he almost tied it up to head into overtime. Not to mention he subbed in for Fairy Peak im this tournament to win against Jack in a series that Fairy Peak was losing. I think Alpha had the potential to win or at least put on a great show against oKhalid. Regardless, this series was an absolute joy to watch.

I want to show this to everyone but they won’t understand how crazy this is... it requires your own in game experience to appreciate how hard it is to do what these two are doing and knowing the history of Fairy peak in previous tournaments... being on top and giving the “throne” away for the time being, I guess he has it back?!
Everyone else is saying it, I'll say it too. Best 1v1 series of all time. Scrub vs Deevo will always be a classic, but this was a genuine education on what Rocket League 1v1 can evolve into the highest level. The intelligence and improvisation from both players, combined with pure technical mastery and mechanical efficiency... Truly amazing.
“Two heavyweights slugging at each other” couldn’t have said it better. That was, by far, the best series I’ve seen.

Plus, Fairy no longer plays ones as he says he doesn't enjoy it.
Don't get me wrong, Khalid is an amazing player. There are very few people who can even do anything against Khalid in modern play.
They both truly are exceptional. I doubt we will see any game like this ever again.

Fairy peak will be remembered as the winner of this competition, with alpha54 playing a vital role. However, we must also remember the performances put in by Apparently Jack and Exotiik which made the tournament insane.
Jack, I mean what the hell I didn’t know about him and he came out of nowhere and suddenly he plays some of the meanest rocket league, over and over, just hammering away at the pecking order.
ExotiiK was so hype it was nuts. I still feel like exotiik should have won, he was playing out of his mind

It's actually so fitting that Fairy vs Okhalid was the final. Two 1's behemoths going head to head in a series for the record books.
And I just wanna say thanks to shogun too. I wasn't having any of it first. As someone who has been watching Johnny's channel for years I was like "another commentator? Nah fam get out" and even though you're not the conceptualist that Johnny is, you still added a new perspective and brought a lot of excitement. It would be boring with another Johnny (sorry Johnny)
Bruh Shogun is an amazing caster lol he brings so much excitement to matches don't just think Johnnyboi is amazing at casting bcuz although he is amazing shogun is 100% at his level
Johnny definitely gives more in depth and accurate analysis, but it was a nice change.
Johnnyboi has very depth and deep analyzing while being fun to listen to, but shogun is literally the god of rocket league casting. So many of EU’s clutches game shots in rlcs have been so much worthy to watch because of shoguns experienced energy he brings to casting. Johnnyboi is good at 1s analysis but shogun is a better caster hands down.

This just goes to show how good of an all-around player fairy is. World champion in 3s, rank 1 in 2s, and can beat arguably the best current 1v1 player in a bo7 in a 1v1 tournament grand finals. He’s just so good at all the game modes, it’s nuts.

Finally someone who challenges okhalids bounce dribbles without losing 100 %! Without the bounces, okhalid relied so heavily on fairy misplays it’s not even funny. While I’m a fairy fan, I think okhalid is the best 1s player. But a less jumpy fairy with stronger 50s and less crossbar hits might be even better.
However, fairy looked so good today, and even while making sooo many mistakes, whereas okhalid looks like a machine as always. I don’t think okhalid really deserved a win today, however. Just not enough adapting, and letting fairy control so much of the game. It was close, but I feel fairy made mistakes he normally would be without, and that let okhalid punish them so easily.
And the kickoffs were horrible to watch but ended up swinging both ways so it’s okay.
Who’s the best shooter? Yeah that’s fairy hands down. Okhalid relied so much on one particular shot, but fairy takes all kinds of shots.
Enough arm chair reviewing, ggs. This is the best 1s match I’ve seen. Congratulations to both players. Insane mechanics and game sense.
Yeah that's true it seems when fairy wants to speed it up he can just flow the whole way. You can definitely see a change in okhalid's form when he realizes fairy is not going to give him any room.

I believe that it's incredibly hard to say who's the best as both people played incredibly well to the point that it could have gone both directions very easily.
But I do think Okalid is slightly better once he adapts to fairy play style. Fairy adapted much better and quicker to Okalid and I think this is a lot to do with experience. Remember since okalid joined the big guys in 1v1 he hasn't been able to be matched so someone countering his play style he's never to deal with which is completely new to him, Fairy has had this several times. Game 5 I think fairy got a little lucky, not to take anything away from him just that the ball fell exactly where he needed it to be, games 6/7 fairy changed things around and learned how to counter some of okalids main shooting positions and what he likes doing which put okalid at a disadvantage as he had to play a bit differently to how he normally plays.
I don't think that Okalid played his best throughout this tournament, he made mistakes that he never normally makes, some of his small touches just seemed a little off same can be said about fairy but not to the same extent.
Overall both players are so incredibly good and this was one of the best 1v1 series that I've ever seen.

If any luck was in this match, you could say "oh it was so close fairy almost lost but his comeback was a stroke of luck", but you can also say "fairy missed so many more touches and failed stuff way more often than khalid, that's bad luck, and that comeback goal was well deserved for it".
This was... the most incredible tournament finals storyline i've ever seen in a long time.

I went back and watched this after that recent Zen/Khalid, and I didn't realize how much Fairy got the back end of that batmobile involved in kickoffs, 50s, and shots. I guess it was part of the strat, but the levels of mental comp in this...just mind-blowing. Maybe my fav 1v1, I love these guys.

Explicit Reverberation bro, in every game there is an endless debates about who’s the GOAT, Soccer, Basketball, UFC, Fifa, and you name it. So, it’s okay to have different opinions, but my reply here was about Sahil Arora way of underestimation and minimizing Okhalid. I believe okhalid has changed the way people pay this game. It’s just fun to watch him, his movement seems to be so easy and simple but it’s hard to stop or predict. In the other hand, Fairy is a legend. It’s just not right to ignore what he is doing just because I like okhalid.

Can't much that has not been said: a phenomenal series! Props to oKhaliD for such a fantastic performance this tournament and recently. The series result is about more than just one goal, but at the end, it really could have gone either way! Such a joy to watch these two, since they can really do everything and have to pull out all their tricks.
For me, I love watching their positional play. Whether it's scrappy jukes and spacing in the midfield, fakes and counterfakes on the goal line, or taking big sweeping loops up and off the walls to get to the next best angle, these guys are constantly predicting the plays and trying to throw off their opponent.
I haven't been this excited about a 1v1 series since Fairy Peak v. Kuxir. Incredible series by two of the best players to play the game. I still think that Okhalid is a better 1v1 showmatch player than anyone else, considering that he played every single one of the 1v1 series on behalf of his team and he is even (1-1 I believe) in 1v1 series against Fairy Peak. Also, Fairy Peak had to swap out mid-series against ApparentlyJack, and played a fraction of the games in total that Okalid played. Regardless of whether or not you agree with me, I think we can all agree that Fairy is a GOAT and Okhalid is well on his way to becoming one of the GOATS.
