This commercial predicted present day smoking regulations: You have to go far into the jungle to be allowed to have a smoke...
I laughed out loud at your comment. Good day sir
@@guitarjacob1237 @mutfol actully laughed outloud as well
But seriously i think that in the future it will be illegal and you will have to buy it from cartels like we do with cocaine.
“White only”
“No smoking”
Same energy
Yes and still a non smoker follows you to tell you to stop smoking.
Indiana Camel and the Lungs of Doom
I know the first thing I wanna do after a long hike and climbing a mountain is smoke a cigarette.
ah ah ,,shit its incredible
it happens. I'm a usmc vet. after a long hike or run, many of us had cigs. so...yea. probably true
Absolutely
I like to smoke the pipe after a long hike or climbing a mountain.
😂🤣
Remarkable packaging. His cigs didn’t get wet.
I haven't seen a commercial this cool in a long time.
idk...cause I went to Thailand back when tsunami hit snd devastated the area. 2004 maybe? I know I was stationed in Japan.
I wa part of relief effort.
I handed one of them a Newport. it was so strong to them. they traded me an opium laced cig for another Newport.
yes he knew it was just a Newport and I knew the laced cig was laced. I was able at the time to speak basic.
so...MAYBE having a cig with a tribe who didn't know much would work lol.
the Thai people weren't so far behind us and apparently they loved Newport lol
@@agonleed3841 whoa man that's seriously an awesome story. I've lowkey always wanted to try opium too lol
@@ODBonesCorleone402Almost a year on, I'm so curious if you've gotten to
They were smiling at him because they were just about ready to start cooking the evening meal.

This long pig comes pre-smoked!
remember when commercials were not boring and annoying ?
wow .... This take me back to 1990, I was the location mgr , collaborating with an OZ crew and F.Director from US.
The international group of companies and their disciples would never make a commercial like this now.
thank you for uploading
"These people will do a great job working on my sugar plantation"
Great ad, great product
Yeah mate !!!!!! The landy is a beautiful series 3
In which country that ad aired ? I thought most western countries banned Cigarettes TV Ad in the late 70s. That was a very well done ad for sure
seen it in Romania in early 90's
They were banned for good on December 31, 1970.
shown only in cinemas
An alternate reality where Cigarette Commercials are still shown: Bear Grylls Camel Spokesman
Cigarette commercials are the epitomy of toxic masculinity. Tough men on an adventure making friends. THE HORROR!
Jajaja vos por que sos un afemiNad0 los machos fumamos
toxic masculinity XD theres no such thing as TOXIC masculinity.

So basically if someone go pay a visit to the most dangerous tribe of the world, just bring a camel cigarette and you're good to go.
Not necessarily a Camel, but any cigarette and you're good to go.
They look soft anyway.
Ostatnio widziałem tę reklamę jako dziecko. Całe życie ją pamiętałem. Dziękuję 😎
Que comercial lindo....nossa 1000/10❤
I d walk a mile for a camel I thought it was the end of 1969 cigarette commercials were taken off the air
End of 1970. However, this commercial was made for viewing outside the United States.
cigarette advertisements that convince people to smoke should be illigal in the first place
Come on man if you can't spell the word "illegal", you should have no say in what should or shouldn't be allowed for advertisement. Jesus Christ.
"I'd walk a mile for a Camel"
and after the film reel was sent back to the studio, slavers wiped out the 'spies'
Wow im far from old but we went from this to all the regulations we have now in just 30 years and im sure they will ban it completely soon but at the same time i just saw an ad for weed that would have been seen as crazy back then.
Musta been hard back then to quit when a commercial like this came on the tele. Hey look at me I sound like I’m British. Oy!🗣️💨😶🌫️😤💤
Kids loved him
it's amazing,,,till now I'm still wondering how the cigarettes doesn't get wet when he jumped to the water 😅
The 80’s was also the pinnacle of tupperware
Was this for some other country? Certainly not in the USA in the 90's. We banned these kind of ads in the 70s I think
I'm 84 born snd I remember seeing camel commercials on TV before and after shows like mama's family, jefferons, and such. morning TV...when I really think about it.
cause by afternoon, when, if I remember correctly jefferons came on...then not too long later soap operas came on and that shit, I hated it, lasted from like 1pm to about 3 or 3:30 or 4.
idk...after school.
I remember before I actually stsrted school to many days I either was sick or played sick or summer time.
morning time had many good shows. and weekends had many entertaining shows
all in all...I remember Marlboro and camel commercials specifically.
also, I'm from SC. maybe regionally they didn't care.
That's what I thought and read on the internet. 1971 it was banned. But it looks like some states didn't cater to the banning order. More power to them!
Here's a Politico claim:
The ban took effect at midnight on Jan. 2, 1971. That gave cigarette companies a final chance to advertise on TV during the New Year’s Day college bowl games. The last televised cigarette ad ran at 11:50 p.m. during “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.”
@@carolynking1625 Ah
I miss the good days days
Да, я помню этот ролик, спасибо)))
How times changed!
My first guess in 1990s would have been: Adventure, Friendship.
My first guess in 2020s is: What the h**l is he looking for in the jungle?
Why...a packet of Camel cigarettes, of course!
adventures in lung cancer
Dude is like "why does this cigarette taste like nut sack?", its because the abhorigine sat on the pack
That was "Col. Flagg" from M*A*S*H
Where's the curly blonde hair guy whom use to advertise for camel in the magazines back in the 70s and the 80s?
Can someone explain the context. I thought cigarette commercials were banned in the US in 1971, was this in the UK or Australia or something?

I couldn't find where this was targeted. @@OldTVCs
Can anyone please help me find a Marlboro commercial with the flute music. It was sent in a jungle, I think.
yes
Camel is my favorite cigarette brand to smoke because it’s not like strong like Marlboro.

Yeah.......potentially the "ADVENTURE" to cancer, chemo-therapy, radiation and then DEATH! What a great time!
I'm not really sure how to feel about this commercial
Ribs, anyone?
@AxeMan's Jazz I like to smoke the pipe after a long hike or climbing a mountain.
90s commercials were so masculine
Do you have the advert that was filmed in PNG at Linda Linda in West New Britain using a Grumman Widgeon. I was flying there in those days and would love to see that ad again. The crew stayed at Walindi
Sorry I don't really know about the ad you mention. I think there might have been a Camel ad shot in PNG a year or 2 earlier than the ones here but I have never seen it and wasn't involved with it. This one was shot in East Malaysia near Kuching. The Huli people were bought in from PNG for the shoot.
@@OldTVCs No worries but thankyou for your reply. I saw the original just once at a screening in Walindi dive resort where the crew stayed. It was a spectacular ad that had them crashing through the jungle in a Grumman Widgeon and burst out onto the river to take off. I figured the Huli didn't belong in the other clip as there are no monkeys in PNG. Whilst the ads were promoting something I dislike they were great entertainment and so very well made.
@@zapper696969 Great looking plane, the Grumman Widgeon. I had to look it but wish I had flown on one. Cheers.
A great ad. I wonder which artist created the music?

So was this ad from a land still allowed to watch cigarette commercials in 1991? Where was it from?
30 years ago there was cigarette advertising in many places in Asia, the Middle East and probably South America. Even in 2021 there are many countries that allow advertising cigarettes. These Camel commercials were probably one of the last big International campaigns.
@@OldTVCs Thank you.
Ah, I remember this ad. Russia. I'm 11 years old and this cigarettes were very expensive for me as a teenager but I somehow managed to get them. And yeah my choice was due to this ad.
@@Unknown.User.54 that's really interesting, do you remember what specifically you liked about the ad back then?
