It could be American history but they are from Saskatchewan same province (state) as Colter Wall and talk about the CPR which is the Canadian Pacific Railway and then the Yukon gold rush. Hmmm, well thanks for that explanation. I have played music for probably 20 years now and never learned theory really at all. Taught myself drums, guitar and piano. Just really listening to music and trying to understand what it is they are doing I guess.

They have a lot of great humorous tunes.
The Dead South are incredible! I've been pickin out so many of their songs lately. They understand the darkness feel that I love in bluegrass.
They also have the only version of “You Are My Sunshine” that is good. Minor really brings out the depressing lyrics.

They’re from our Prairies in Saskatchewan. Gods country Farmlands, etc. so it’s not as odd as you may think if you ever head up that way!

I saw them two weeks ago live in Münster and Amsterdam. They are awesome live. Met them after the shows and they're incredibly nice people.
