This was a great video. I paid $1,516.37 for a custom cloud sofa from Mega Furniture USA in Tempe, AZ. What I received was a firm sofa with multiple issues. There's a protruding nail, crooked installed foot, mismatch fabric, a puncture in the upholstery and the pillow height is way too short. After waiting 13 weeks, I received a nightmare and nothing has been done. To make matters worse, they refused to give a refund. Thank you for review. It was very helpful.

Pattymac Knits thank you! We’ve been really pleased with our items from there. Quality could be a little better for the price on certain things, I’ll be honest. But we always wait for a big sale to buy something if we’ve had our eye on it and are always pleased. Remind me to tell you the story about our sheets from there though!! 😂
Bell and Cotton OK!! HA HA!!! yeah furniture is very hit or miss it seems to me. My couch is from Pier One and it's held up better than the chair we got a Grand Furniture. Both are pretty ratty looking at this point, but new furniture is not on the list at this point. ❤️
Pattymac Knits Pier one makes decent stuff! And I had a couch from grand years ago that was great for what I payed for it. But most of the nicer items that we have are either vintage and well made or they’re from restoration hardware. Most companies do not make quality, solid items anymore. It’s really a shame.
Bell and Cotton Truer words were never spoken! I am so shocked and disappointed by the offerings in the stores. And it's all pretty expensive to be so cheap. I bought a box spring for my bed a couple months ago because I was tired of sleeping on the floor. I ordered one from Walmart that I had to put together. All 10 slats were too long!! Fortunately my neighbor has wood working tools so he trimmed them all down to size. But that was $100 and I had to do all the labor on it. Still, I'm so happy to be in a normal bed set up again. Two years on the floor was enough. I was experimenting with tiny house life, and I don't think the whole loft and mattress on the floor thing is gonna work for me now. 🤣😂🤣😂
Pattymac Knits hahahaha even in my thirty two years I’m realizing comfort is EVERYTHING!! That’s terrible that box spring came like that. I would have had to take it back! That’s ridiculous. Good thing for your neighbor!

@@deniseinternoscia4012 eco weave oyster as well. Not sure how velvet would clean while also maintaining it's texture, but perhaps taking them to a cleaner, so it'll be professionally cleaned would be best to try keeping its texture. 😖💁🏻 by the way, how is the comfortably in velvet if you do have it?
Hi Megan. Thank you for this video. I have a West Elm oatmeal color in their performance fabric, is that the same fabric as your couch? Our dog has thrown up in between the cushions, the stain has come out for the most part, but the smell is still there. Thx!

extra deep or standard?
Thanks for sharing this video! Extremely helpful. I just got this couch, but it was only available in a sleeper. It’s much stiffer than the one in the store. I was hoping I could see the bottom cushions in your video. Do you know if yours are just down filled or is there a memory foam slab? We are worried it won’t get comfier with time.
Hey Kimberly! I’m not sure on the differences between the couch we have and the sleeper, but yes our bottom cushions are a big slab of memory foam. The pillows are down filled. I think it has relaxed quite a bit. I was worried about it relaxing too much and getting slouchy looking, but it has softened just enough. We’ve had it for about 2/3 years now.
Do you know what fabric option you got? Just curious how some different fabrics hold up. I am looking at the eco weave fabric. Thanks!
Tirzah Payne I know the color is oyster and it’s the eco weave as well. I’m super impressed with how this holds up and cleans up! Especially with a baby on the way.

What type of fabric is your sofa. I have the harmony modular in distressed alabaster velvet and wary on cleaning it but it needs a good clean.

@@catherineim2431 just spot cleaned it today!! I wish I got a warmer color but I think I need to add in a few darker pillows to solve for that. Other than that we love it - I vacuum it and folex once a week for upkeep
How do you clean the sides (inside n outer) part of the couch that doesn’t come off ?
I just use a little warm water and dish soap. I have made the mistake of setting my coffee cup on the arms a few times and it came right out! Amazing.

I am so in between couches. I am nervous about the plush couches eventually caving in and seeing where we sit more often or having fabric loosen to where there are little "waves". Does this couch come with that relaxed look already or is it from the 'wear and tear'?

Kelsey, it definitely has a more relaxed look as it comes which I loved because I didn’t have to worry about wear. I had a couch years ago that after one year you could see where we all normally sat 🤦🏼♀️ I’ve had this west elm couch a few years ago and it looks the same as when I bought it.
How do you like this sectional? I want to get the sofa. Is it worth it ? How are the back pillows? Do they keep their shape?

I so appreciate you making this video! I am on the west elm website right now trying to order this sofa, and I see Yarn Dyed Linen Weave Alabastar. Is this the color you got? I know you mentioned it has changed names since you bought it but I think this is the same one. Also, did you get the Performance fabric? I saw another UA-cam video of someone highly recommending performance fabric just due to wear and tear over the years.

I have used hot/cold with no issues. I always dry on extra low though.

Not a bit, it arrived on time and they even brought it up to our second floor and put it together for us. West Elm is fantastic, I have a bed from them, several sheets, rugs and curtains. They've been great about returns, delivery and customer service in general. I also did an updated blog post about this couch that may have some additional info for you.

What are the dimensions of the Harmony accent pillow (lumbar and side arm pillows)? If I get this sofa, I’m thinking about covering the ones that come with it instead of buying more throw pillows. Thanks!

It actually is neither. It is very much like the inside of an oyster shell. So it has a touch of gray to it.

I have been hard core searching for a couch and thanks to this video I think I'm sold on the Harmony! I know you mentioned standard size, but I'm on their website and it only states Large or Small size, so does the small equate to your standard size??
I believe it does! The large would personally be a bit much. The standard or small is plenty of space.
How did you dry the covers? Do they hold up well in the dryer? I’m trying to make sure it’s worth the investment with two dogs.
No problem with the dryer, I just use extra low setting and they dry very quickly. No shrinking!

3ish years later and I swear this sofa looks the same as when I brought it home. No pilling and I’ve washed the covers several times.

This is the ecoweave. It’s made from recycled plastic bottles actually. Not sure how it compares to RH

Support-wise do you feel like this is still super good? I scrolled through the comments and it sounds like the couch is pretty good but this old lady needs some support. Our current couch is on the fritz and tends to hurt my back. Looking for a good one that will hold up but dang that price 🙈. I guess you are paying for that west elm quality?
I will say that West Elm quality seems to vary, but I have been SUPER happy with this couch. Especially over some of my nicer, more expensive Restoration Hardware furniture that hasn't held up nearly as well and gets way less use. The Harmony is just SO cozy. But the one thing you may consider when choosing this couch is the height. We chose it because it is low, modern and a perfect height for having small children. However, it may be difficult to get in and out of for older or larger people. We haven't ever had any issues with our guests and that does include some elderly and larger folk, but it is something to consider.

@@MeganBell Thanks! We have been searching for a couch for over a year and I finally settled on the Harmony. We have had a sectional for years and decided to go with a standard couch this time around. I still want to be able to "lounge", though. I'm just not sure if the extra deep would be obnoxiously deep. Do you feel like the standard is still lounge-worthy?
Rebecca Cope standard is PLENTY deep. My husband and I can lay side by side on it comfortably which is kind of unheard of for a regular couch. I think you’d be happy with the standard as it’s already deeper than most couches. This is definitely a lounging couch! But I love that it still looks modern and sophisticated.

Bell and Cotton I have the extra deep and it’s basically a twin bed in the living room, which is exactly what I wanted!!! But if you’re not prepared for that size standard is prob better :)

Oh my gosh!!! So glad I found someone who is happy with this couch! My husband and I fell in love with the Harmony when we went to our local West Elm last week and sat in it. SO COMFY! There aren’t many reviews online and all I’ve heard are the negatives... I was almost scared off! Your video makes me feel so much better about getting it and keeping it clean! Did you order yours online or were you able to purchase in store? I’ve heard horror stories about their customer service...😳 Just curious of your experience!
Mae Crowell I was lucky and they had the exact one I wanted in store so we were able to have it home the same day we went in to buy it. It took me three months to convince my husband of this couch and he loves it more than I do I think! It’s so deep and comfy and I’m really impressed with it after two years. The ONLY negative feedback I have is that you need to be very careful of the legs. They’re these wooden beams that have a veneer of some sort over them and it chips very easily so just be careful when you’re setting it up or moving it.

Mae Crowell no problem! I love mine and it’s way cheaper than the cloud at restoration and way better quality than a white ikea couch!
As far as the legs go, the placement of the screw holes make it seem likely you could replace them, but mine are in great shape! I’ve moved the couch once and didn’t have any damage. However the store display had damage and one review online mentioned them damaging easily. I would just be cautious when or if you move them. They are hidden under the couch so shouldn’t receive any wear unless you were to move the couch. Good luck!!👍🏻

Is the oyster color a pure white, or is it an off white ?
It’s an off slightly grayish white. It’s not stark white and it’s not cream. Very much like the color of the inside of an oyster shell.
What fabric is the sofa? Mine is Polypropylene from west elm as well. It says Spot Clean. But it’s white (Bermuda Natural) and very dirty! I don’t know what to do 🙈 Dawn, diluted peroxide, oxyclean? Thank you!

Have you tried washing your covers? Also spot treating with blue dawn dish soap works wonders
Also mine is pristine still. It’s been 4 years and I just wrote a blog post about it over on my website meganbellmade.com
I’m too afraid I think i will take it to the dry cleaners. Mine is different fabric so I’m hesitant to put it in the wash. But maybe i can try it with one of the smaller pillows.

I have this couch and I have had trouble stuffing the largest cushions back in. They look lumpy because of the down topper. How did you fix this issue for yours?
I don’t have this issue, personally. I’m sorry you’re experiencing that. My cushions go in easily and fluff out easily. I wonder if they’ve changed something about this couch since I’ve purchased it. I wish you luck!

I can tell you nothing has changed. My couch is still lovely and hasn’t begun to sag or anything. I clean it the same as I always have.

The chaise doesn’t have a seam at all.

Do not buy the West ELM harmony sofa. Their cushion loose shape within a month and you will need to fill it with poly fiber
It sounds like you enjoy a more of structured sofa. There’s nothing wrong with the harmony. It’s just more of a relaxed, comfy style.
maybe adjust the camera angle so that we are not looking up into your nose, just a thought ..........
